Any oldtimers remember the Smoktech Groove? There were so many that went up in smoke (no pun intended) smok had to recall the entire line.

As best as I could ascertain, that is a recall from June, 2013......before my (vaping) time even though I am somewhat of an "old timer." :D

To each their own, but not only would that not sway me away from smok in 2018, I would not be compelled to advise others to avoid Smok products today because of that, legitimate as it is.

My crystal ball tells me that putting in a claim for the rug replacement would be an amazing cluster. The vendor will point at the manufacturer. The manufacturer will point at the component provider. One huge circle jerk of pointing fingers. Bring in the experts!!! Yes! We must determine the origin of the failure! So which glob of charred goo went bad? Hmmmmmm? No sane lawyer will see a nickle in that for himself. Then there's home insurance. How much do you want it to go up? Ah yes insurance companies. We're on your side! The side you carry your wallet in!!!! Use public attention. Bring it up with the talking heads at MSLSD. Vape device burns down entire town!!! Buy bonerall!!!! (Caution may leave you numb from the waist up). Oh well, my crystal ball never worked right anyway.

Give Ralph some more time.
He just joined ECF Jan. 1....

Wait til he finds out what RTA's can cost... and mods too... then we will find out if he's a hobbyist or a vaping enthusiast, or, just a vapor.

Hahaha..

I think I'm an enthusiast. .. I haven't risen to the level of a hobbyist, I'm a penny pinching tightwad... but I came closer this last year than any before.. lol..

That incidence with the Groove recall was just one example. I've been on this forum for six years, and worked in a vape shop that sold SMOK products. My bias against SMOK mods comes from all that I have read and seen first hand. I've not read or seen anything that would change my mind over the last six years.

I got my rda for $0.99 during a promotion. Got a Desire mad dog rtda for $17 holds 7ml, $24 for Pyro 24. Its hard to pass up good sales.

Sweetie.... you got a very good price I'm sure. You managed to out tightwad me..

As a beside - have you yet realized that you can spend up to 400 dollars (USD) on a single RTA?

Heads up on some prices so you don't have a heart attack when you somedAy experience sticker shock...

The most I've ever seen a mod was somewhere over a thousand... (my sticker shock went into full effect then and I can't remember the exact price on that but I think it was around 1,800)

Someday you WILL see a 600 dollar mod and think Ohhhh... so pretty!

I guess that entirely depends on how much you smoked. I smoked 13-14 packs a week. I can buy my e-juice and a atty every week and still save money over smoking. That is about what I'm doing. So far I got 2 smok tanks, a rda, a rtda, and just ordered a VV Pyro 24 rtda. I'm set for a while and only need ejuice
Ralph....dont let us influence you, you are doing fine.......once you enter into the Extreme Sport side of Vaping it gets ugly real fast:).......keep it simple, i wish i did( but my personality prevented me from doing so:))......once you open the door and let the demons in they never leave:).......Seriously , I stopped counting at 400 mods, and at least double that on those funny things that screw on top of them........i envy the vaper that has a half dozen setups and is happy with them:)

Truth...

I was just goofing off after he didn't understand what a hobbyist really is.. (more or less)

I'm in a playful mood. Not trying to entice him to spend. ... it is nice when you don't!

Thanks for everyone's replies, except the insulting ones. The lady at the smoke shop agreed with a lot of you and recommended an external battery that I can charge on a dedicated device. She also told me never to charge my ecigarette through my computer. And finally, she said not to leave it charging all night. I bought the priv v8. Hopefully, everything will be ok this time. It's going to cost a lot of money to replace my carpet and I think that directvapor who sold me the device should be financial liable.

I'm glad you got straightened out.
Always be safe with any battery.

Since this has turned off course in different directions I am closing the thread :)
