I think what they did was very rude. You don't ask to check something out and then put it in your filthy mouth...with all the viruses and crap going around these days. It they wanted to see how it works, they could've asked you to take a few drags so they could see the vapor. I definately think they over-stepped the boundaries in this situation.

I have individually wrapped alcohol wipes at work, so if someone wants to try my vape stick I take one out and wipe down the mouthpiece before handing it to them, then wipe it down again after they hand it back.

The disease I'm thinking about is flu... d o.n o t.w a n t !

I usually carry an extra clean or unused cart, but I've thought that an alcohol wipe would serve the same purpose as well.

Anyone who has asked to "see" mine has never attempted to take a drag and I would be annoyed if they did. Like Madame Psychosis said, though, it may just be a throwback to anaolg smoking where there would not be much use in taking it from you without the intent to try it.

On one hand, it's kind of hard to really "check out" an e-cig without puffing on it. They're not much to look at and the thing a smoker would be most interented in would be the taste and the vapor. So, yes, a bit naive thinking he wouldn't actually mean "try it" by "check out."

On the other hand, EXTREMELY rude on his part. He should have specified that he wanted to actually try it and EXTREMELY out of line to hand it off to someone else!!

Unfortunately, that's the lingo these days. People would ask to borrow an analog - what they meant was HAVE an analog, because you can't exactly give it back! My husband says "can I see the tv remote" when he actually wants me to HAND him the remote. I usually tease him and just lift it up so he can "see it" before I hand it to him. Drives him nuts, lol!

Ok now that its been decided to just bring another cart so other people can try...i carry a 901...so bringing an empty cart with me isn't a problem...but what proceedure should i take when offering to someone? I also take vape breaks with the smokers outside...and fill my cart right before i go out

Refill a new cart...give to them to puff..then throw away an almost full cart?
Give then my full cart to pull on...then throw out an almost full cart and refill a new cart?

you said it all when you said they were kids. kids can be very self centered and rude at times and not even realize it. you should have educated them some, their parents obviously did not.

I am amazed at how self centered my son can be. it's always "me, me, me..." but since he just turned a year old there is plenty of time for him to grow out of it. lol

I with Robert on this one.

The kid should have asked if he could try it though.

I carry 3 carts in my PCC and a bottle of juice. This way if someone wants to try it I can just put on another cart for them.

If I thought someone was interested in trying it, I'd offer to change the cart so they wouldn't feel weird.

Some of this is a function of age too. The local kids and teens cut across my yard all the time. Adults don't.

Then again little kids get head lice fairly often, while adults never do. :D

I always carry disposable plastic tips in my pocket that I ordered through a health shop (I'd imagine they could also be picked up at a head-shop or pharmacy supply house).

If I remember correctly, they were about $10.00 for 100 of them. And being that they're individually wrapped and not too large to carry a couple around in my pocket they are perfect for "those" situations when someone actually wants to try it.

When someone makes the motion or asks to see it, I'll pull the tip out of my pocket saying "if you'd like to try it, here... use this", which they then understand what's expected of them. If they don't and try to take a vape they would get a smack to the head as their reward for ignorance (so far, so good, no schooling required, lol).

I don't consider it a case of OCD nor unrealistic expectations to demand common courtesy and personal hygiene from others as a "normal" person would of me, and especially at a time where illnesses are rampant in the general population through uncaring and negligent behavior.

That's what I do, and it works great.... a simple precaution, and an inexpensive one to boot.

ill let people take a hit off from mine, i mean as long as they look decent... not full of pimples/sores/ scraggly lookin ... hackin and coughin from a cold ect....
i just tell them not to give it a bj or french kiss it and its all good lol .
ive thought about getting a diff cart for the potential people testers as well ... but always forget to bring it with me.

Well someone else mentioned alcohol pads, which I have some of those as well. I wiped the "community" cart off with alcohol after I went back inside.

What Im saying is I wouldnt throw one out because of it. I would just clean it off.

"What's that Cratchit? Let people use a cart that costs me less than a box of matches to re-fill?"

I'm not thinking that they were rude nor you were at fault.
In the situations where someone is interested in my e-cig, I think about what role I want to have in someone's exploration of analog alternatives.
For the e-cig, it is enough that I show them my e-cig, talk about how it has helped me, blow some vape in the air so they can see for themselves, and then pass on information about where they can find out more...ECF...and some suppliers that I use i.e. cignot.com for 510's, goodprophets.com for 901's, etc.
My point being, for me, I am not crusading to change analog smokers to e-cigs AND I am encouraging them to take it upon themselves (self-empowerment) to find out more and giving them some resources to get started.
If I was in the e-cig business, however, I might carry a spare "tester" or at least business cards.

When someone asks me about my PV, I ask them if they'd like to try one. I carry an M401 around with me just for this purpose. I carry some pre-filled carts of both Menthol & Regular and offer them a chioce. Then I just snap a new cart on and let them play.

lol... that kind of reminds me of a friend I had when I was in the service... He carried a box of Marlboros for himself and a box of Dorals for when someone asked to bum a smoke.

On the topic, this Thanksgiving my family and I went to my cousin's to join in a big family reunion. On this occasion, I had my Ruyan pipe with me. I went outside with it so as not to freak out everyone by "smoking" inside, but was joined by my uncle who I know is a big cigar and pipe affezionato.

As he lit up his cigar and I happily puffed my Ruyan, He asked me the expected "what's that?" I explained it, showed him the battery, the cartridge, and the atomizer. Then I asked him if he wanted to try it. He took it, not so inconspicuously wiped it off, and tried it out. He liked it, but that's beside the point. I was a little miffed that he wiped it off so hard that he could have taken a layer or two off. I mean... we're related. He'd know from my mother if I had cooties... she can't keep anything secret.

Of course, when he handed it back, I wiped it off, too :)
