I think it was rude, but not unexpected from a kid. Passing it around to others was also rude, but I think he was just trying to be kewl and be da man. Probably didn't think before he did it that it was not his to pass around.

When I show others my e-cig, i actually break it down and explain the parts and how it works, but i do not let them touch it. Then I say, hey if you want to try it out, i've got a bandaid right here we can wrap around the mouthpiece; do you like orange/tangerine flavor? Only after my mouthpiece is guarded do I let them touch it. When i first started looking to buy an e-cig i wished that i could have tried one out first.

And yes, there are cooties out there. e. Coli can come from a person not washing their hands after using the restroom. I have a friend who gave herself salmonella from not washing with soap after cutting up chickens to put in the freezer. And of course flu, colds, etc. When I go to the bank, post office, etc., I never ever touch a public ink pen, I always use mine in my purse. And I always carry kleenex to open doors and push elevator buttons with.

Guard your mouthpiece.

If it was me, I would have expected the first two to take a puff. That's not rude, as has already been stated... What else did you think was going to happen? What's rude is him offering it to OTHER people. In that situation you would think he would say "Oh, it's not mine. It's this guys."

That's disgusting! (unless it was a girl and she was really cute:p)

Yeah... With herpetitus and all that other nasty stuff, I'd think it better not to be sharing stuff with people you don't know. I don't know that I would appreciate the situation, but I don't think that I would have lost my focus on the device when someone else had it as well (my device was nearly $100 total, and I wouldn't trust a stranger with it). If I were more of a social vaper, I'd likely carry a few spare atoms with me just in case.

I was at a party last week and every one wanted to try my Vapor King. I had a full cart on it and I am not one to vape on it after someone else has. I did allow one to try it though. I turn around look back and there are 4-5 people there passing it around needless to say I threw the cartomiser out.. That was 10.00 bucks down the drain.

10 American Dollars? Where are you getting you cartomizers?

In all seriousness though, I am picky about sharing things like that especially with strangers however at the same time I want people to try it so I always carry around some extra carts with me, they are in a different case in my bag, separate from my stash. I guess if someone is asking to try it they aren't really concerned with germs like I am.

I'm less than a week vaping still and I carry extra cartridges for my 901 1 of which i keep for "guest usage" that when some1 asks to see it i put it on automatically before handing it to them. i generally don't care if they give the flu or whatnot to each other, just not to me so i only need the 1 cart for that purpose. besides, it's easy to tell which cart is my guest cart because it's the 1 that's not been chewed and has the back piece still in it so they don't mind that I do it that way either...lol

I am perfectly happy for anyone to "check it out"
As long as they are not offended when I wipe it on my teeshirt before I use it again.
(and I do let people have a tester, all the time)

Maybe it's what I do for a living, I'm a plumber. But if you spend your days on the floor with your head under other people's toilets, the thought of sharing an ecig (after a wipe) is not a big problem. :p

It used to be common practice to pass the joint around. Prolly still is. I can't imagine 8 pages of people not remembering when. . .bad as a President claiming he didn't inhale.
Just carry an alcohol wrap pad and convert the rest of the world. That way they won't be a blowin smoke in your face next time you gather round the smokers outpost. Gheesh.

Cheers,

... Anyone else think this was rude? or was it my own fault for letting them hold it in the first place?

Not saying it was rude or not but let me ask you a question.

Say you were in a bar and had a drink in your hand. Someone walks up to you and asks you what it is. You tell them its a "Bla Bla Bla". They say, "Cool, Do you mind if I check it out?" And you say "Sure" and hand the drink to them.

Would you think it was unusual if they sampled your drink?

Perhaps when the "Kid" asked to check it out he was asking to take a hit on it?

Dunno but I do know one thing. When People ask me about my eGo or what ever I'm vaping at the time, I Do Not Hand It To Them.

You just never know what some people will do.

There is one guy at work who always wants to hit my e-cig whenever I see him, and he always french kisses the damn thing. I let him though, I figure that's part of being different. Some people just want to see what you see. When he's gone I just pop the cart off and wash it. I drip, so I don't have to worry about fillers, so it's not that big of a deal. I figure he might order one some day. and since he's rolling his own right now it would be good for him to switch.

The neighbor came over I turned around to wash my hands and look back she is vaping my special with out even asking I went psycho on her.She does own her own Blu but decided to keep smoking because carts and juice are too hard for her to get. (Excuses, excuses she's just that lazy really)anyway now she knows better I about smacked her and she knew it bet she doesnt vape on my stuff anymore.

Wow, so she's too lazy to use hers but feels like she has the right to use yours whenever it's convenient to her? I'd have gotten ...... too!

I have truly enjoyed reading all these posts! Ragman, I was in the mall and saw a kiosk for e-cigs and was so excited I almost tripped on my 2 feet o get to it. I didn't know it was for a Smoke everywhere pv. So the kits are 150.00 each and the girl running the kiosk was apalling. She tells me my 510 will die in 30 days guaranteed. But if I would like to try what she was selling she would give it a lifetime guarentee. So she hooks me up, and lets me try the pv, now she put a new cartridge refilled on the atty, so I thot ok wont kill me. While I'm trying it she picks up my Pink 510 and starts puffing away. My Face must have turned purple because she asks me are you OK?
I thot I would smak her. I didn't think that was cool at all, well I had extra carts with me, but who did she think she was. didn't ask or even comment about it, she just helped herself. well it is in the trash now, and ummmm no, I haven't been back. You just don't do that kinda stuff ya know!!!!!
anyway, when I read all this I had to share..
