I never wanted to give up smoking but in my country smoking has become too expensive ; so with the new rise in price of 6% and a new one next year, I tried to save money. (by the way buying provari, zmax, vapage, vapemates, grippers, vamos, itaste MVP, precise+ , megalodon, reo grand didn't cut up my expenses) :(

I had struggled for years trying to quit. Wellbutrin, patches, gums, lozenges, and cold turkey. Quit for over a month several times, but always went back to smoking. My youngest kept getting on me about smoking, so I really wanted to quit for her. Something about being around to dance with her at her wedding. Starting vaping after trying a friends cig-a-like and never looked back.

I have only had 1 urge for a stinkie and that passed quickly. Started with the v2 kit, moved on to ego c twists, and now have finished with a provari. Best decision ever

I was never a smoker, but always like pipes. My dad smoked one. I just never wanted the bad health effects and the smell of the smoke on my cloths. Then I discovered vaping and epipes. I am on my way now. Vaping a pipe and enjoying all of the wonderful flavors and the great people that I have met doing so. Vaping may not be totally healthy, but it is much better than smoking analogs. And the big benefit I get to vape a pipe. WeeeHooooo!!!!
Can you give me some info/links to these e-pipes, I was a pipe smoker now into vaping, but want to move up from carts and the fiddle involved, ta

Been wanting to quit also, but found that patches didn't work for me (still smoked while using the patch), didn't like the taste of the nicotine gum and heard A LOT of horror stories of Chantix. I did mine for health reasons (couldn't breathe well and wanted to see my kids grow up) and didn't want to smell like cigarette smoke all the time.

My brother in law actually got me started w/ this a couple of weeks ago after Thanksgiving when I saw him using his eGo C Twist. I asked him to take me to Vape Revolution so I could try it out and actually ended up buying the eGo C Twist just like his.

Later on, I might get the Provari like one of other friends has but for now, I like my eGo

Sadly, I smoked cigarettes for about 10 years :-/ I finally got myself down to about one a day but still couldn't resist having one every now and then. Vaping has helped me stop completely since most of what I liked about smoking was the oral fixation of taking a drag and exhaling (I mean, they taste disgusting). I haven't had an analog in almost 3 months :D

Im just curious why you started vaping?

I for one, personally LOVED smoking. Sadly I have admit, I smoked for over 15 years. It was to be cool when i was a kid, it was a stress relief as I got older, and when I worked, it was a great excuse to get the hell away from my desk and co-workers who were driving me up the wall!

Then I had my kids. I actually WANTED to quit smoking, because I wanted to stick around and watch my kids grow up - and I didn't want them to start smoking someday themselves.
But STILL it was so hard to quit. I missed the deep breath of that drag.....the hand to mouth motion....that big sigh as I exhaled, and blew my smoke out.

But every single day, I would look at those beautiful faces. The ones I created. The ones I loved more that I ever thought I could love anything in the whole wide world.
Then the years of smoking, and age started catching up with me. I was coughing. I exercise like I wanted to. I would wake up wheezing. And then the prices of cigs kept going up and up and up.

I tried the other e-cigs that you paid an arm and a leg for at the mall - that didnt work. But then my husband (a 1 1/2 - 2 pack a day smoker) started vaping, and didnt touch a cig. I was impressed.

And again, my kids. My health. Thats why I started vaping. Best thing I did for ME in 2012. (And if you're a mom or even a parent...you know that if something benefits YOU - it benefits your kids/family also)

I could not agree with you more. I have two little boys and they're the reason why I decided that I needed to quit.

I started vaping because I was tired of the horrible health risks associated with smoking, the horrible smell, and because none of my family knew (or at least I never told them, and they never confronted me) that I smoked. I was tired of going through so many things to cover the fact I smoked. I started smoking at age 18 (25 now) really because my girlfriend smoked and she was my first love and we ended up being together about 5 years, not anymore though. Stupid way to start, I know, but I was a young kid then.

I will say that I enjoyed the hell out of the act of smoking. I just enjoyed that 5 mins or so puffing on that cig and calming down. It was like your best friend, always there.

Now vaping has taken that place and I love it. I'm a bit of a tech nerd so I love the idea of buying all this new stuff to test and try things to find my perfect combo. It's a lot of fun and better than any analog.

I started smoking when I was 18 years old. I had tried cigs before that (i think the first was when I was 13 or 14), but it was VERY rare. I tried to quit when I was 19, but that only lasted a couple months. On average i was a half a pack to a pack a day smoker, and at my worst, I was smoking a pack and a half a day! After I "quit", i smoked off and on up until a little over a year ago. this last time I was "on again", my parents (who I live with) found out, and basically told me, "you either quit, or don't come to Kansas w/ us" (we were getting ready to move from South Carolina to Kansas). I had been discreetly looking into vaping, so when my mom actually suggested it as a way to ween myself off of nicotine all together, I bought a Blu starter kit. That was in October, 2011 (I'm 25 years old, BTW). Just before new years, I was out of cartos for it, and pretty much broke, but I saw a mistic e-cig at a gas station for like $7 and change (1 battery, 1 carto). I used those for almost a year. I just bought an Ego kit about a month ago, and I haven't looked back since! While using the Blu, I still smoked when I wasn't around my parents. When I was on the Mistics, I'd have a cig every couple months, just to see what I'm missing, and almost as soon as I light it, I'm like, "this is nasty....". I actually had a cig about 3 nights ago, and I couldn't even finish it. That was probably my last cig ever, or at least for a long while.

You sound a lot like me given the situation, age, a living with parents and them not knowing. Also we have taken the exact same vaping steps lol. I started with Blu, went to Mistic, now onto the Egos... Haha. happy vaping!

1. To Quit Smoking becuase it's bad for me
2. to save money

1. I tried quitting several times and when life got stressful I was right back to the gas station with a stinky in my had.
I can honestly say that in the past 3 months I've had 2-3 events that would have driven me back to traditional smokes.. haven't had one any of those occasions.

2 I've saved about $100 so far and it will only go up from there I hope :)

i'd LIKE to say that i started vaping for better health, and i sure tried quitting smoking enough times for that reason, but to be honest, i started vaping when analogs went up to ten bucks a pop...it's been almost 2 years since i bought my last pack, and i still get cravings once in a blue moon, but it's still the cost, not the health risk, that keeps me from going back to smoking. (hey, whatever works, eh?)

because there is 4000+ chemicals in a cigarette

and there is maybe 4 in a PV

and if you need further reasons, use a PV for a couple days then light up a analog...if you don't barf ill be surprised.

and vaping is a 20-30$ a month investment while 4 cartons a month(even at 30$ each buying from the indian reservation near me) is cheaper than smoking.
imagine if i was paying 80-100$ a carton like normal brands are here in NY (off the reservations)
so yea 30$ a month is wayy better than as much as 400$ a month, i dont even pay 400$ a month for my truck payment !

I have a list a mile long of the reason (and the idiotic rationale) that were not enough for me to quit smoking.

smell....another shower some baby powder and no one will ever know, yah right
health......we all die of something
breath....... brush more and chew gum 24 hr a day
friends complaining........real friends will except me the way I am, quit nagging me
cost.... expensive but I can still afford to buy them
car smells........due for a new one anyway
face skin looks different.....must be the make-up
out of breath.......must start to exercise or I'm just getting old
seeing people on oxygen...........that only happens to other people not me
.

Vapeing was my last chance, it was the only viable option for me. Pills..no thank you , i can't even remember to take vitamins and was afraid of the side effects. Patches..too costly and what am I going to do with my addicted hands. Gum......good way to develop TMJ problems.

Bottom line for me...if it wasn't for vapeing I would still be smoking. It's been almost two years for me and I thank heaven every day for that woman in the computer repair shop that vaped in front of me while trying to sell me a new computer............I was hooked the minute i saw that.

When I stated smoking, I was 16 and I made a commitment to myself to quit before I had children. When I become a dad, I only want to display model behavior. I'm not sure I'll vape in front of them when I do have kids, but I can adjust juices far more easily than I can adjust the nic content of an analog and even if I vape at work or when they're out of the house, the smell isn't a concern.
