Anyone else want to try and help me figure out this obsession ?

You're not alone. Perhaps, becoming a part of this thread will make you feel right at home. :D Reading the first 3,220 pages is not a requirement, but may definitely enlighten you.

I got over this issue in 2014. It took 5 years to overcome. Have been using the same mods until this year where I bought 2 new models. Mostly due to higher power options and better battery life.
My weakness has suddenly become all the new RDA's and RTA's that have come out the last couple years.

I thought this was a thread about Moderators. Was gonna say, we seem to be pretty short in that department....lol....
I'm stuck in my old ways. Use an aspire pegasus and have for years. Same mod, too. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I spent all my money in the early days, til I found this. Don't want to get back into that spending spree. So, as someone said, you are NOT alone..:)

I have asked myself at least 100 times why I have this uncontrollable need to keep buying more mods..Sometimes it’s because of tech upgrades, but mostly just because I see and I love ! Anyone else want to try and help me figure out this obsession ?
Well, I totally agree with "I see and I love" and adding "must have" hahaha. ;) I never ask myself why and just move onto buy.
I want to have many many options in stash for that "day" when Darth FDA Evil Empire does their thing and that also includes DIY.
All things vaping have replaced a nasty habit so I treat myself as I see fit. A win...

Over the years I have come up with a lot of excuses to justify another mod such as safer/newer board; more battery capacity for safety; need temperature control; maybe I am saving wear and tear on the mods by not swapping tanks/RDAs as often?; I need something that can take being dropped; and yea... the reality is the real reason is mostly Shinyitis. But hey, if it keeps someone involved and away from the S word, whatever works.

Ahhh... I totally understand that weakness with both. ;)
I would add squonkers too for me.

Most of my mods are squonkers. One of the new ones this year was a Topside dual. There is one I'd really like for sale on another forum that I've been fighting the urge to buy though. Life is hard. lol

There are lots of us here who lurk in the shinyitus thread for encouragement :)

Even if you're not buying you can help someone else with their purchase desicions....:D

But seriously though I think a lot of it is due to the focus from the previous cig addiction being directed towards buying vape gear until it becomes habitual......No problem as far as I can see :mail::mail::mail:

Agree and agree... yes, I enjoy being part of the enabler team as much as you. It's been done to me many times so the least I can do is PIF.

One of the things that got my mod-buying under control was the realization that I don't need any board at all. Give me solid silver contacts and I'm good to go. :)

I think it has a lot to do with society in general always wanting something new and improved. A new phone is only new for a few months until the next model comes out. Pair that with vaping being a life saving hobby and it's easy to justify spending on a new mod that you really don't need. But yeah, shinyitis is real here and you're not alone.
