I can understand merchants needing to verify age, but I'd be very uncomfortable providing the information they're asking for. Fortunately for me, Canadian regulations are a bit different. Canada Post will verify age on delivery, so online shops generally use the postal system for any needed age checks. The postie just looks at my ID and doesn't record anything. It's also prohibited to even request someone's SIN (our version of the SSN) if you don't need it for tax reporting. American companies periodically get into trouble here by trying to use SINs for employee IDs or account identifiers.
That maybe what it comes to in the US.
Unfortunately it's an extra $6+ per package for adult signature and of course it has to be recieved in person.

And .... while I am ranting about direct vapor -- get this..

On the email I rec'd there is an email address ageverification or something @ direct vapor and it says it is staffed 24/7. I had answered the email initially and I really was not too nasty - I did say that I did not have time for this crap because I have ordered from them before and just to refund me and that they were now on my do not order from list. I never received an answer.

I wrote again and said that you claim this email is manned 24/7 and I have yet to receive a response and I expect a response.

    No response.

I am over the age verification thing but I must say their service really stinks.

    Their loss.

I’ve tried placing orders at myvapor, dna, and element, my three favorite USA sites and all three denied me. WTF.... I want a new squonk because my squeeze 2 is giving me no atomizer and short warnings all the time I’m ready to chuck it against the wall to see if that works. Anyway I love it when it works and I’m loving rda flavor so I need a new squonker. I’m trying to get an Hcigar Aurora and no one will let me buy it. For Christ sake I’ve had my credit card for more than 20 years so that alone should let them know I’m of age. Anyway sorry for the rant, I just needed to get that off my chest

Well...Element, at least, is listed as "Unknown"...which means No Hassles and NO Problems with their Age Verification system...???

    Vendor Age Verification Procedure List

    ..
Yea element is the only one that after denying me gave me another option. I could give them birthday, no big deal, and last four digits of my SS# which I refused.
Just an update and correction since I badmouthed the Pico Squeeze 2. I tried two different rda’s and it did the same thing so I thought it was the mod. But now I put the nudge on and have no problems so apparently the mod is fine it’s two of my rda’s that are broke. Maybe the denial of sale was a good thing since my mod isn’t broke after all. Same thing happened to me last week at.. You guessed it - DirectVapor. I canceled my order and won't be ordering from them again. I wonder how many orders and customers they can afford to lose before they stop this ridiculous practice?

They will probably have a while before new vapers come to understand it really isn't necessary. I would rather the post carrier id me than send it out online tho I know that is silly since no entity seems safe from hacking these days.

Gee - 3 companies -wow. In my opinion, there has to be glitch. I am not familiar with the squonker or the prices but I have ordered from MVS and they have it HCigar Aurora Squonk TC Mod on sale. They have an age verification that I have passed numerous times. Theirs seems to work!

Unbelievable! I do not blame you - I am done with them. too.

I'm pretty analytical and I would think they have a performance person who monitors repeat sales and even cart sales that do not go through. One would think (at least I think) that someone there would realize that something is wrong.

That was my thought exactly. I’m mean unless I’m a rare exception, they are losing money left and right. If people can’t purchase their wares it kinda defeats the purpose of their existence. I’ve had accounts for quite a long time with all three vendors and have ordered from all three. I’ve used the credit card, since trying to order, and have had no problems so it’s not the card. But like I said my squeeze 2 isn’t the problem so I don’t need another squonker it’s just strange. I purchased vape gear from vapordna less than a month ago without issue so I’m not sure why I’m failing the age verification now?

There has to be some system glitch. Shoot - they have not even answered my emails. I'm pretty nice and have even informed any company I have dealt with if I found something. Not them - they can go and fly a kite. :)

I'm going to play The Devil's Advocate. Look at it this way. If they card people that means the minors are not available to receive. This may be a good thing for us. This whole argument started over minors vaping. If you eliminate that aspect of it it may become more public friendly and politically friendly

I'm 100% ok with this "age verification" if it keeps my kid and other from vaping or from getting cigs or beer from a store I'm ok with it.I get carded all the time and I'm 42.last week I was getting cigs for my wife(she hasn't transitioned yet to vaping, by she will lol)and I had left my id at home.now keep in mind I go into this store almost every day but the women could not sell me the cigs.I was mad at first but then I calmed down.

Yeah but sometimes adults can't buy either. :(
Yeah you can if you send them a photograph of your ID. But I'd like to know how they got your last Social Security numbers that's something that should be kept private. There is no privacy anymore. I guess. I don't have a problem doing that to be honest with you maybe I'm in the minority but you got to keep the little minors away from The Vape somehow. And I can't think of any way of doing it except for the way they're wanting it.

You were a kid once. You know how it works. Carding just doesn't work because you can purchase fake cards over the Internet. And if they want it, they are going to get it regardless. Like someone once said, locks are only good for keeping honest people honest.

I'm with you 100%it's our jobs to keep the kids off vaping, cigs and beer and if that means I have to send a picture to them with me holding my id(which will take 2 mins out of my life)then so be it.no problems with that.what we should be mad at is companys not doing things like this.they keep making it easy for kids to get vape gear then Congress and the fda can say "see I logged into (add company name here)and it was this easy to get a mod and e juice)no computer system knows how long you've been at your current location, they're not programmed for that, no computer os knows how many times you've ordered unless they look it up.a simple e mail to them most of the time can take care of that.

True, but the way I see it is if a kid gets bitcoin then starts a dark net market account just to get a pico 75w and a bottle of lava flow then give that kid his stuff because that was some hurdles to jump just to get that stuff...loljust joking.yea I get that.what you're saying billw50 what people aren't getting is we have it really good and some of these online distributors are trying to keep it that way.you can't get cigs this easy online(you can but it's sooo hard, I tried for my wife)can't get beer online without a pic sent to the company.I think we just had it so easy for so long it's going to take time to adjust to all this new stuff.this is for our own good.if kids keep getting this stuff it's the end of our vaping.vaping has saved my life.I can breathe again, I don't want to lose this.
