Man, I just tried a build and it was miserable. 26g dual coil build measuring at .3 ohms. Stupid atty jumped to .7 ohms at 65 watts. Replaced the screws and had the same problem.
So, I figured I could use some thicker kanthal. I get some 22g, dual coil that sucker, and tighten it down. .21 ohms this build is. I was running it at 75 watts when that little ...... jumped to 2.6 ohms. I threw that cheap ... dark horse right in the ....... trash.

Thicker wire needs to be held down good , well all wire does but the thicker it is the more force it needs to hold it in place especially if its still somewhat springy.
