I was thinking about something on the side bar titled "What is a mod and why you probably need one."
Then something like
Many if not most people who start vaping use a cigarette sized personal vaporizer, but need something more satisfying to make quitting cigarettes more managable, or just for the plain enjoyment of a better experience when vaping. It's common for the person new to vaping to want the performance of a USB battery bypass (which uses a five volts supply from your computer rather than most battery based PV's that use 3.8 volts). Something the vaping community calls "Mods" are the answer to this dilemna, and that is what we produce here at Notcigs, outstanding mods that deliver vapor, flavor and taste that no ordinary single battery personal vaporizer can.
We offer two styles of mods, each having it's own unique appeal and advatages. We will answer your questions about compatability to cartdiges and atomizers here to make buying a mod less confusing than it has been in the past.
Then comes the hard part. Actually putting together kits with whatever adapters are needed for each type, 510' 910's, 808's whatever. If someone is married to one compay's carts, be able to kit it for them. ALL of the needed parts and accessories. I know that has to be a ridiculous amount of work and a big time investment, but I know something about marketing through catalogs, I've written several of them for electronic test equipment as a product line manager and then a National Marketing Mgr. A web site is no different. It's just an electronic catalog.
This is what I call a leveraged marketing tool. You educate prospective clients just enough to know if they order from you, it's going to be simple, it's going to work and it's going to be what they want. What you explain at your site will only be partially tranferrable to a competitor's site or product. In other words, do all the legwork for the customer. When that same prespective customer looks elsewhere and walks away confused, they see your site and know exactly what they need to buy.
A link to a generic educational site is fine, but it isn't a leveraged marketing tool either. It should not be a public service announcement. It should sell Notcigs products by simply asking a customer what it is they want, and offering a turnkey Nocigs solution. No fuss, no muss, here is what you need.
I know it's alot of work, but there are different ways to be a leader in any marketplace. Each way to lead if done correctly can lead to growth, as the saying goes, it isn't always the best mouse trap that gets purchased. It helps a WHOLE lot if it IS the best mouse trap, but there are also other ways to innovate.
I see a gaping hole in this area. I go to a website and have no clue what I might need to place an order that will satify me and get me what I want. This market is exploding and this is the time to establish market share, and there are several ways to accomplish that.
Being a small shop and essentially a startup, your time is limited and stretched. How often do you have to answer emails that could possibly have been avoided if the site were more informative? How many people look at the site and leave without asking a question or finding this forum? How often do you have to email people when an order doesn't look right? It's easy and tempting to back burner this sort of thing, but the way to kill the alligators is indeed to get the swamp drained. MUCH easier said than done. If I knew more about vaping and was not web design stupid, I'd offer my help. I can however write ad copy with the best of them, and if you'd like I could take a swipe at that sort of thing.
I'm sorry if I over step my bounds here. I am a marketer from day one. Once in my lifetime I had two "twin products" for the video industry that were innovative, placed in an expanding market, priced right and marketed correctly. We made more money and gained more market share with those two products than the rest of the 100 page catalog combined. I have to admit the noise level for vectorscopes and broadcast quality waveform monitors had a much lower competitive noise level, but I think the analogy is a good one. I see similar opportunity here.
So, it's just my two cents. In any case, I'll be ordeing my Buzz tonight, now that I have an idea of WHAT to order! Even after searching through this forum for hoiurs, looking at the web site, I still had to start a thread to have any confidence I was not making any mistakes when I placed my order. It has to be easier than that. Not a critisism, please don't take it that way. It's more just me sharing my experiences along the way. It was a long and twisted road to get here.
I'm confident I've made the right choice, but it should have been easier to arrive at.
