"By creating three branches of government, the delegates built a "check and balance" system into the Constitution. This system was built so that no one branch of our government could become too powerful."

:mad::mad: Checks and balances in action, indeed.:mad::mad:

Am i interpreting this correctly ;

- vendors have 90 days from today to introduce new products to the market without a PMTA application !?
- products currently on the market are ok until at least Aug 2018 !?

That's how SmokeyJoe interpreted it. So anyone putting a new device or thinking of one, needs to get it out within the next 90 days.

Im depressed enough kent, and you had to post a picture of Hillary?:)

Sorry :- ) But Sherrod Brown has been at the forefront along with the other Dem Senators pushing for the Deeming from the start and urging to quickly pass it.

Brown Calls for Finalization of Long Overdue Oversight of E-Cigarettes | Press Releases | United States Senator Sherrod Brown

“Every day that we wait further imperils the health and wellbeing of our nation’s children,” said the Senators in the letter. “Such a long review period may inadvertently serve the interests of big tobacco companies, which have a history of using product design and marketing tactics to attract children to harmful and addictive products.”

The letter also strongly urged FDA not to exempt products or weaken the draft regulations, and called upon OMB to submit a final rule that protects against marketing to minors, the use of flavors, or online sales of e-cigarettes and other nicotine delivery devices to minors."

Trouble is they're holdin' the checkbook and we've got to balance the means. Good luck. :(

But anything introduced after Feb. 2, 2007 would still need a PMTA submitted, or proof it is substantially equivalent to something already on the market in 2007 or before? I hope the manufacturers are saving their pennies!

We all do understand that this has nothing to do with safety, right? The govt. or any of its three-letter agencies could give two ***** about your health or safety. TSA, EPA, FDA, etc. It's just a power grab/money/tax control. It's not just big tobacco. Regulation = taxation.

Just like everything else, they purposely overreach in the beginning so that everyone gets upset. They put all of these looming, ominous documents out proposing these ridiculous regulations. Then later they can 'compromise' and say, "Oh well, how about if we just do this little thing then?" and everyone instantly feels relief that they are getting screwed 'just a little'. They know from the beginning that they aren't going to get everything listed in the regulations. I've lived among this authoritarian BS long enough to know when I see it. Liberty and freedom? Get outta here!

And they will get away with it, while we all sit around and watch football and prime time TV. Haven't you all figured out how all of this works yet? LOL

This has all been looming for years, and it will likely be years more before the FDA lawyers can convince/payoff an upper judge to call liquids tobacco products. This one may end up going to The Supreme Court. Until then, I'm just goin' about my business.

They have no authority, none whatsoever, to regulate anything that isn't tobacco. Even their deeming equivalency is an atrocious affront to logic and reason. But they will. :( Good luck.

No - they deem themselves qualified. That's how three-letter agencies work. They just do what they want, and it's up to the little people to sue them for justice. They don't care about overreaching or any penalties that might result. Any lawsuit dollars come out of your pocket anyway. They have nothing to loose. See how that works? LOL

Expect every press telling tomorrow how well FDA is protecting the children from the tobbaco menace
Thats why WE have to get the word out on social media that the press ONCE AGAIN are putting a bad spin out there. I wish I could hire Trumps crazy Scottie to get this out there. She is a master at spin.

Okay, we all know the regulation is pure BS.

The only question is, what now? Should we panic? How can we fight back? What can we expect? Surely this is not going down without a fight.

When can we hear about news of the first lawsuit or court order? That's what I want to know. I don't want to just cry and take it.

I suggest you read the CASAA statement posted several times in this thread to help...:). Too soon to panic.

No, it began a long time ago, with the demonization of cigarettes with usage bans and the whole second-hand smoke crap.

This is just the next step. Further down the line: control of your sugar intake, fat intake, red meat intake. Basically, unless you're eating organic kale, it will be controlled by a government agency somewhere... maybe the FDA, maybe your state.
I hope you dont mind. I just used this quote on FB. You are so right! just like freddom of speech. one thing leads to another.

I'm just at an utter loss for words right now. Plenty of emotions, but it will take more time for words.

One thing's for sure: if we the people keep voting for the same jokers, this will be just the beginning--these people are fascists hiding behind a façade of care and concern for our children.

Yeah, no point in talking about freedom in any of this. We gave that up years ago when they lulled us into apathy over politics. We dont elect real everyday americans with ethics and principles. Our politicans are chosen by govt elites for us to rarely cast a vote on.

As long as you are willing to accept a big fat check from your corporate masters and a super pac, you can be a politician. Trump, Clinton, are all the same. Clinton is a criminal, and Trump is a bankruptcy specialist. The Clintons are friends with Trump in day to day elite circles. Hell, Bill and Hill were at his wedding.

We have a two party system controlled by one entity, corporations. There is no two parties, there is one. Apathy is what has cost us freedom. Hence nanny state and goons like the FDA to do the bidding.

We need to occupy Washington. Organize groups to take the white house tours and stage vape sit ins inside the white house. That will make them cringe and think twice.

Start voting for real people who do not take money from lobbyists or super pacs. Stop letting your local, state, and federal election commissions hand pick their preferred candidate(s).

Im beginning to think democratic socialists (aka not nearly communism in any form) are correct about government.
