I used to have somehing like that a while ago that was called the Hyper tank. I don't remember who made it. It did use Kanger single coils. It held 5mls and had a cage like apperance as well.

It's a kanger -- I have a Hypertank2, in that ziplock with all those T3S's and Mini PT II's.

Once I got a kayfun, they were all history.

Interesting. Got any links to these things? Both the tanks and the coils? I've been out of the loop for awhile and am not that familiar with the Smok products anymore.

I started with cig-a-lik
jumped to Kanger EVOD kit
so had a love affair with the EVOD tank and bcc coils
then found SMOK bcc tanks and believe they
are superior to the EVOD tank (+ cheaper)

have been using the SMOK bcc tanks about two years
the Kanger coil swaps right in…
wife breaks glass, mis-uses plinths and looses drip tips,
so the RBC & GBC was a present from heaven
hot rod the kanger coil and all is good-to-go

Remember last week when I asked everyone to recommend their favorite clearos for tootling purposes?

I've been trying different clearos, and more are in the mail. Reviews as promised.

Our first tootletank is the Smoktech HBC:
View attachment 499273
They look great on top of an X6, which makes for a great "grab and go" setup. 3.3 oz, with 1100mah. I took the silver one the other night when I went out for dinner.

The tank takes the inexpensive and easy to find (and widely cloned) Smok bottom coil heads. There isn't much of a feeding problem with these tanks, in contrast to the ego style tanks that also use these heads. The reason is the wide flat tank bottom.
View attachment 499275
As you can see, it also comes with a different aluminum cover. Smoktech calls that version "MBC". The first one is cage-like, the other looks like a DCT. Underneath the aluminum shell is a borosilicate glass tank that holds 6ml. I think that this is probably the most compact (19mm x 75mm) 6ml tank out there.

The draw is neither tight nor loose. It's very similar to a cartotank in that respect. But much less hazard of burnt or dry hits. Cheap coil heads that are much more reliable in these tanks than in mini tanks. No adjustable anything, just the basics, but more than adequate for tootle puffing and a ways beyond.

Highly recommended by me. Two thumbs up!

Vapor production is surprisingly good as well.
Pretty similar to the Smok PBC tanks. Used to use them a good bit in my VTR, was actually a pretty good vape!

Even if I lived in NC, I wouldn't be paying that sin tax either, since I DIY -- with 5 yrs' worth of nic in the freezer, that seems likely to turn into 10 yrs' worth with my reduction in nicotine, I think I'm done with sin taxes -- haven't had a drink in over 23 yrs either.

So... bite me, sin taxers. :D

Thanks! Obviously Smok has been busy over the past 2 years! I don't know if I want to sort through all that. Guess I'll just have to keep trying to get the GS air coils to work...and the Aspire BVCs.

But who's laughing now :) :)

I agree, although, the higher the VG, the better it is I find, higher VG gives a sweeter vape but I understand not all tootle builds like high VG.

Right, one of the tootlest* of all tootle devices, the ecab, does not like pure VG. There are so many pros and contras with PG and VG that I (too lazy to try different combinations) arrived at a pure rational decision: 50:50. Easy to make, easy to vape, my ecabs tolerate it too. - The Sophia takes everything you give her.

("tootle" is just so very much tootle that it does not seem to have a superlative, or does it?)

one stop shop, good prices
buy, vape mail, clean, fill, vape face off
pull cotton out, dry burn, stuff cotton in - repeat

I can relate Andria, I just got my Kayful light V2 plus clone last Wednesday from Fastech, after a 6 week wait while my order did a loop at their mail processor, and made my first build today. ~ 1.7 ohms using 6 wraps of 30 AWG Kanthal A1, wrapped around a 6-32 machine screw to build a spaced coil, wicked with KGD cotton. Filled it with Vape Wild Stawberry Cheesecake 65pg/35vg, and I will say this is the most awesome tank I have ever vaped on! I've vaped on a Russian 91 and a Kayfun before, but this one was best because its mine, and I built the coil :D I used this calculator to determine the number of wraps for a spaced coil:
http://coiltoy.ermeso.com/

Now of course time will tell of the issues, I am sure I will have to deal with some - I already did an accidental drop test of the KF Lite V2 on my garage concrete floor, fortunately I was using the shorter section of it with the poly clear tube - it didn't break or even scratch. What I want to avoid is any leaks out the airhole like I have with my Kanger Subtank Mini (both on stock coils and the RBA deck). I pulled the cotton through the can and cut it about 1/8 inch above the top, then worked it back down on the deck gently. I think I could have used a little more cotton to fill the base more, but so far its working great, started at 8W, and down to 6W, and giving me better vapor and clouds than my Nautilus Mini with 1.2 ohm vertical cotton coils at 8 W. Extreme tootle puffing at its best!

This has been a great vape day for me, I received in the mail this morning the free sample ($2 shipping) of 70 pg/30 vg 24 mg nicotine base from Nude Nicotine, and this just has to be the smoothest, best unflavored liquid I have ever vaped. I am starting to vape unflavored and lightly flavored juice now, with another tank with my beloved NET. The NN is far better than Ecigexpress Nic Base, not as peppery, and though some might like Ecig Express for the throat hit (I ordered 18 mg Nic base from Excigexpress, and it hits harder than my NN 24 mg nic). I prefer the smoother NN myself, and vaping it on a Nautilus mini with 1.2 ohm VOCC. Superb :)

Here's some pics of my new KF Lite V2 clone, short version with the clear poly window, on my istick 40W, along with my Nautius Mini with NN unflavored on my istick 30W (with and without the black silicone sleeve which I love for the grip, I need to find one for my 40W). :

Congrats!
There is nothing finer than your first build on a Kayfun.
I think you're right TD :D My first build with 30 AWG kanthal, it sure is springy haha. The builds I did for my subtank mini RBA deck I used 28 AWG. I will try that too on my KFL V2, and wish now I had some 29 to try.

Ah, the silicone sleeves for the 40W are out now, thanks Zep! I will pick one up my next order from SV.

Except a cup of tea while sitting on the deck watching the sunrise and the cacophony of birds tweeting in the morning.
.. while vaping :D

How is the flavor, Dave?
You know, I'm one of these folks that doesn't think that the atomizer makes that big of a difference in flavor. That said, the output is similar to that of a cartomizer--dense and coarse, so flavors do seem more concentrated.
Interesting. Got any links to these things? Both the tanks and the coils? I've been out of the loop for awhile and am not that familiar with the Smok products anymore.
Puf and folks more than took care of that one, I see...
Those HBC's sure look pretty! Especially the pink ones ;)
My wife likes those, too.
