I like the full size M tanks, they look great and are very reasonable from fasttech.

Yep, that's where I got mine.

Yo Dave, where have you been :) :)

Hey Rick. A lot of work, but probably more interfering than that, is that GD RADIUS THREAD. I don't know why but the dang thing PULLED me in.

I didn't even order one! It was just the "play" that got me.

And, now that I've answered, I'll reply in kind. Where, sir, have YOU been??? :D

Hmm, airhole leaks... my experience with those is that *usually*, if/when they happen, it's a VERY TINY amount, which I think is just the result of built-up condensate inside the airflow system, but they don't always happen.

One other common cause is if you get carried away priming the wick, and there's just too much liquid in the chamber; since I'd far rather deal with too much than too little, I just go ahead and use what seems a plentiful amount of juice when priming a new wick, but after I get it all put together and filled, I turn it upside down, and *blow out* thru the driptip, while holding a paper towel under the airhole -- that will blow out any excess (the paper towel is so it doesn't blow out into your eyes, which BURNS!!!), so you don't get the gurgle or juice in the mouth or airhole leaks.

Other than that, the only thing that can cause airhole leaks is rapid change in temp/air pressure/altitude -- in the summer, if I come in the house (air conditioned to a pleasant 75 degrees and very little humidity) after being out in 95 degrees, 90 percent humidity, there may be a trace of airhole-leakage. If you're driving thru mountains/canyons, it might be an issue.

If you see leaking and none of those applies, then it's more than likely an o-ring starting to shred, and I've learned that it's silly to play o-ring roulette -- go on and replace all of them at the same time, unless it's that pesky little one on the fill screw -- I ordered a supply of those, I go thru them so fast. :D McMaster-Carr - fillscrew o-rings, 1mm Wide, 2mm ID

Second day on my Kayfun Lite V2+ clone and no leaks so far, love this thing for flavor :) my subtank mini on the other hand leaked juice, not condensation. I read all the threads on the issue, did some tests and determined all the seals are good. The source of the leaking is the stock coils and RBA get saturated and when heated my thin 70pg/30vg at lower watts (12w) just slowly seeps down the airflow path and out the airhole, even wide open airhole won't help. I may experiment some later but this tank doesn't appear suited to my style of vaping and I won't change that because of a tank. :)

This may sound crazy, but I found that when I replaced the little "clear" tanks with the full sized "M tanks" on my Kayfuns (clones) most, if not all of my leaking through the air hole issues went away.
Fewer orings = Fewer issues (problems)
I haven't had a leak yet on my KFL V2 clone using the shorter clear section. Or my nautilus mini's or GS airs. Only my subtank mini has leaked.

And TP'ers, I hope you don't mind, but I can't help but be totally entertained by the word "anneal".

Remember that I don't what most of y'all do. I pop blister-packs. So when I read, "Did you anneal it first?", I thought, "Jeez - things are getting pretty kinky in the RBA world."

Childish? Absolutely n....

Absolutely.

With apologies for the interruptions...

That's all I've ever used! I figured out that it's handy to keep lighters around even if there are no smokers around, for candles, etc, so I just keep a Bic at my vape-counter.

I sure don't go thru them as fast as I used to. :D

Andria
I kept a Bic around too and will try that for annealing my 30 awg Kanthal. :)

When you heat the Kanthal with a lighter etc "anneal", it takes the springy/stiffness out and makes it more workable.

That is one fine looking 3.1 Ding! A little too "purrrpleee" for me, but still a seriously fine looking Kayfun!
Thankee....

At least the wrap tones down the solid magenta

I cleaned out both and coiled this one. It's my favorite between the two. More forgiving. I'm running higher pg juice than I normally run. Was also trying to catch some of the blingers since I'm usually pretty dull with my décor

Also I wrap a fairly large diameter coil. I use a number 8 machine screw (.164 diameter) to wrap my coils, and seem to never get a dry hit.

When I first got a Kayfun, I was so ecstatic to be delivered from those nearly-microscopic 5/64 coils in the T3S's, I made coils at 7/64, but I was still learning the "proper amount" of wicking, and sometimes couldn't hit it right. So I tried out a 3/32, and I've found that actually works best for me, in terms of getting "just enough" wick, so the wick is fully in contact with the coil -- I had more problems with "dry coil" dry hits than the dry-wick kind, because with the 7/64s, it was hard to to get enough into it so it stayed in full contact.

For the Kayfun V4 clone, does anyone have a FT item # for the M Tanks?

No clue, but Kidney Puncher has them for excellent prices, and they don't take half of forever to reach you. ;)

Expensive, which freaked me out -- about $10 I think -- but they ship it overnight UPS -- which freaked me out more, but made me not mind the high shipping cost. :D

So the M Tanks were expensive and the shipping was expensive??

No, she was asking about the McMaster-Carr shipping for those little o-rings.

Kidney Puncher's prices on the M-tanks is dirt cheap, far less than what I paid for several from eBay.

These are the short style M tanks, there are no full sized M tanks like they have for the KFL+. For a full sized tank you have to go with the chimney extension and compatible glass tank.

Kayfun 4 chimney extension, discontinued on FT so you will need to get it from FC or GB.
