i agree, br, they do seem to drink the juice pretty quick, but i'm willing to deal with it for the great flavor/vapor/TH these things put out. i'm a dripper anyway, so i'm used to having to refill/drip fairly often.

EDIT: i've rinsed and dry burned my first one (wanted to change flavors but didn't wanna pull another one out of the pack just yet) and it's still working just great.

they are pretty resilient , its a robust coil like br has mentioned before.
and the design lends itself nicely for repeated cleaning and dry burns. enough for a carto at least.

If anyone wants to test the voltage of their E-2 or other device while it is in actual use, a rig something like this will do it. This one has 510 fittings that were salvaged from old devices. They are connected with 16 guage tinned buss wire. The center wire fits inside the hole of the two center posts.

It can also be screwed in a battery charger and the changing voltage can be monitored while the battery is being charged.

Just a quick note.... since most PV batteries don't put out true DC, you need a "true RMS" meter for this test to be really meaningful.

Shucks, Scott. I ain't trying to measure the output power from one of my audio amplifiers, heheh. Just an average DC voltage is close enough for an old man to make simple comparisons .

Maybe if we get technical enough, someone can tell me how to measure this 3.3 voltage that everyone is talking about.

For relative comparison you'll probably be fine, but I wouldn't go around quoting numbers.

If you don't have a "true RMS" meter... then you don't know if your meter is reading the "peaks" of the pulses, the valleys of the pulses, or some semi-quasi-kindasorta-average of the pulses.

Since we're ultimately concerned with heat generation, and heat generation correlates to delivered power, RMS voltage is the number that we're interested in.

This is the latest word I have on my order for CE2 510 , 808 & XL2 carto's placed on 07/30.

i am sorry that the supplier delayed the delivery date , so it would delay some days , next week , i think , we will ship your goods , sorry for the troubles .

John

Yeah.. they told me that mine would be delayed too. Then they turned around and gave me a tracking number (which shows package "movement").

Dunno.....

Hey guys, we're getting too many complaints about this thread so here's what needs to be done.

I think part of the problem is that this supplier/manufacturer is not an ECF member, so that immediately raises suspicion. So:

1) For those who are being accused of somehow spamming for this supplier, perhaps you should just state the facts, post your experiments, give your opinions, etc, without it sounding like you are saying 'You should go out and buy these.'

I think we are all interested in the quality of these things and if they work, but if it sounds like you are trying to somehow push people to buy them, it's going to come off as promoting. So let's just try to stick to the facts.

2) For those doing the accusing, enough is enough. Regardless of what you think, it's not a fact without proof....and the constant reference to it is not only getting annoying (as in beating a dead horse), but it's detracting from the point of the thread....to learn more about these so we can see if they are worth buying before we waste our money on them.

So just let it go and when you have more proof other than the redundant 'it seems like you work for them', then feel free to post it.

Hopefully this thread will run smoother now.

Thank you,
Lu

I'm having troubles cleaning these. I had one that I filled with a juice I wasn't too fond of, so when it ran low, I soaked it over night, then I removed the inner cap and "flicked" it out to make sure there was no water left. I let it dry all day, then gave it some quick dry burns to dry it out.

I put the cap back and refilled it, but I get considerably less vapor now...almost none. I let it sit for an hour thinking it needed to wick it up maybe...but still nothing.

Any ideas? It seems others have cleaned theirs and have them working fine, so I'm lost here. The only thing I can think of is that the wick still isn't dry from the water.

Bahnzo,

I wash and refill mine and it still works well, even when the wick is still wet. The first few vapes don't give much vapor but eventually it works good as new. (I use boiling water in a mug to soak mine for 10 minutes, then run fresh water through it for 30 seconds, then refill straight away. No drying needed).

1. Maybe there is too much ejuice in the reservoir or cup?

2. Is there any ash on the wick?

3. Which revision do you have? 7 hole? newer 2 hole?

I have the two hole revision. Hmmm, I'll have to look into the possibility of too much juice, but I've been only filling these with .5ml to begin with so I don't think that would've caused it. Not sure about ash on the wick, I'll check if I try it again. Seems like you and others I've read have done it, so no reason I can't...just not doing something right I'm sure.

Those tests were done with a "True RMS" meter (Fluke 79) with traceable calibration... so I'm pretty comfortable with the results. But anytime you throw out a hard number you will probably find a person who will stand up and challenge it!

;)
Thanks Scott. My Fluke reads very close to your numbers, but I will keep in mind that mine are relatively soft numbers.

I have noticed the same, they go through the juice a bit quicker than normal carto's.

Those new XL sized carto's look interesting (double the juice capacity), may give them a try.

This is what I'd be interested in too. Thanks for the link.

Will be waiting for your review Scott!

ZambucaLu,

Maybe we can lock this thread and start a fresh one once the Ceramic Cup revisions are available? This thread is getting massive lol

Well, let's put it this way. I don't know how much more can be said here until the new version ceramic cup, no glue, etc comes out and someone tries them. If someone wants to open a new thread to discuss those further rather than having it all be mushed in here, that might not be a bad idea.

Let me know and if so, I can close this one out with a link to the new thread.

ETA: Since this has basically turned into a thread about carto issues, I'm moving it to the carto forum.
