Is anyone else having issues with the firing button? My one doesn't always fire when I press the button unless I press it a certain way or push it right down with a fair bit of force to make sure it makes contact & even then I don't think it's making a good contact because it's not hitting as hard as it should. I'm finding it really annoying, I've pulled it apart a couple times now everything is clean & looks good. I'm not really sure what else I should try.
Okay check the o ring that the bottom of the 510 pin has that big red one that sits I the plastic, clean every thing make sure juice is not on any battery contacts, and a third thing I did was losses the button screw a little bit mines firing hard as when I got it after I did those thing.
P's that owing has to be seated in the Grove and a little bit of your 510 can be seen.
I just remembered also make sure the Owings are on the top of your refill bottle.

Thanks mate! Tried what you said & I think adjusting the screw on the button solved the issue

Hi, I have started experiencing this issue the past few days, i have loosened the screw just a little and cleaned everything, the mod then works flawlessly however after a few hours of use it starts miss firing again, have you had the same experience?

I've had this mod since opening bell.

Its my primary work mod which means 100% uptime.

Its been a dream mod. Even the cons are actually pros. Like the battery change is a con but no janky door is a pro.

Any problems anyone is having can be easily fixed by either taking it apart or possibly a claim to 528 if something is really broke. There really isn't anything to go wrong with this mod. Its a very simple mod.

That's what I thought about it when I first saw the Grim Greeen review. Now that I am hearing about problems with the fire button it makes me think that maybe it's best to wait and if 528 finds out that there is an issue they can correct it and then I'll gladly give them my money in exchange for that piece of green aluminum that is calling my name

The only issue I have had with the fire button on a DT-DS not firing reliably was atty related. IOW a consistency issue with the contact between the atty's positive pin and the mods positive contact. Atty 510's do not always have the exact same specs from maker to maker, and clone atty's are especially notorious for being all over the place. Mods with spring 510 positive contacts will wear in and eventually change slightly with use as well. That might explain those that worked well at first if your atty's positive pin contact to the mod was only making borderline contact.

When I first get new gear I do a complete pit stop on it so I know I am starting with issue free gear. I do use isoalky91 for general cleaning, but I use DeoxIT D100L and G100L to maintain all electrical contacts surfaces (incl the batteries). Traditionally with reasonable care of the quality made gear that I've acquired the over 4.5 years I've been vaping they do not need to be pit stopped again for a long time even though I am a heavy DLH vaper day and night (20-24 hours a day... I don't sleep much).

So far I only have a Purple DT-DS (other colors wanted were already out of stock) with a matching purple cap for one of my black Goon 1.5's that I am running on it. With my build for the DIY joose it is running it is doing an outstanding job for me. And the DT's bottle system is stellar in comparison to the silicone tube fed bottles in most of my other 36 mech squonk mods (especially those that I put soft silicone bottles in that are smaller capacity and are a RPITA to refill).

528's next project hopefully will be a dual series batt DT Squonker. ;)

So, a bit late over here! Kinda forgot ECF existed.

I've been having issues with mine, and emailing 528, since day 2 of having it (I ordered on release day, so received it ~26th of October).

528 has not responded to me. My husband got fed up for me and DMed the designer on Instagram, who recommended the cleaning mentioned here, filing down a screw, etc.

Long and short of it: I still have a mod I want to throw at the wall after a few hours of use. I normally run a Dead Rabbit on it, have tried using my husband's Goon 1.5 etc. Still no go for more than 6 hours after a full disassemble and clean.

My husband's works better, only an occasional fail to fire, but still not perfect. We both have the TS version.

And still no response from 528 themselves a month out.

I'm a tinyyyyy bit ticked off over here.

Take apart and clean. Now put it back together, but screw your atomizer into the 510 while doing so. This, I've found, helps keep everything aligned and gives you the best chance of catching misfires. I've noticed a rubbing feeling on the switch and this is how I avoid that. It also helps in figuring out orientation of springs.

This is a mech. That's how mechanical are. You have to clean it and be aware that there are mechanical parts. It's an advanced user product. Be meticulous and you will have few issues.

I agree, mechs need regular maintenance. But there are too many issues to be a coincidence. There is a design issue here.

I just got a TS today, and after less than 2ml, the fire button got consecutively worse and worse. So I took the whole thing apart, and realized the screw to the fire button can easily become loosened (or the button to the screw, however you want to look at it) - to the point that it will no longer fire. Tightened everything up and now it's fine. I guess as a precaution, I'll have to make sure the button is tight occasionally by given the button a clockwise turn every once in a while to make sure it's still tight.
