Yap, kids having cloud competitions are going to hurt this movement more then any e-juice ever does. Everyone of them wants to Sub, on their Trust-"FIRE" battery.

But you know, they`ll tax the crap out of the juice, that`s what this is all about. Regulation means tax`s. And we simply cant give those nut bags enough tax`s to satiate thier corrupt desires. The other side could care less if some one died from e cigs, all they care about is the tax`s that can be levied.

Absolutely agree. I'm by no means indicating that regulation will solve the dangerous sub ohm/battery issues whatsoever. Just pointing out that I have an issue with many of the shop owners who sell bad builds to completely inexperienced people who have no knowledge of battery safety.

Dang I keep seeing this pop up lately, had a co-worker that went through this yesterday at work. First vape purchase was a mech mod with a terrible build out the door, no concern for his safety.

Such a shame too because these batteries we use in mechs can cause some serious damage. Just browse through the new members section...you see many posts where some guy says his .1 ohm build a friend built for him is making the button heat up. Guess what...they don't know what type of battery they have and don't own a multimeter. Recipe for disaster.

Sub4me, I am not going to re-quote that one statement about the mix-up in ingredients (from post #186), but I am curious, do you not think in a situation like that it is just human error? Human error will happen wherever humans make things -- that's a fact. In a regulated industry, human errors happen too. The implication here (at least in my perception of what you said) is that because there is no regulation (but self-regulation) then that means human error is either more prone to happen, more dangerous if it does happen or of no consequence if it does. For the most part, all of those would be false.

That's your opinion. However a great many people do want regulations for e liquid, DIY, and equipment for safety reasons.

That is your opinion too. It is not my problem that you are too lazy to educate yourself on what you buy. Safety starts with you. Regulation, especially as proposed, would destroy many of the options that everyone on this forum is here for.

Honestly I think most of us are simply used to the shape and size of a 18650 battery, its somewhat similar to a AA that we have used most of our lives and I think that brings on a type of comfort level that is false. For instance, the AA batteries in your TV remote control go dead and you simply pop them out and throw in a fresh set. Mechanical mods are also so simple in nature that you assume you can just pop in any old 18650 battery throw on an atty full of juice and vape away not realizing the load current being drawn from the coils ohm and then it can obviously be very dangerous to the unassuming user.

    Sorry to be so off-topic!

However most people will consider items offered in a store to be generally safe esspcially when those items are used for and intended to ingest a substance that's being promoted as a healthy alternative to tobacco. Its all quite misleading to the masses of uninformed.

Since starting vaping and learning about batteries, I have become overly paranoid about all batteries. I will no longer leave any thing charging un-atteneded. Overkill...probably so but I have gained quite the respect for the power batteries posses.

Haven't I repeatedly addressed the issue of misleading and false advertising with you? You keep saying the same thing and getting the same response. Where is the dead horse meme?

And what everyone may get is a regulated 3.7v cig-a-like device with prefilled carto of 12 mg/mL M-Type. Perish the thought, but buy good (and unregulated) gear and supplies while you can.

    6992 kilometers from home...
Halo purchased the new hundred thousand square ft building. Not leased, purchased. Maybe that will calm the worried down a bit. They seem to see a bright future and I happy to buy from them instead of some guy making bottles in his basement pretending he knows what's he's doing.

Halo was founded based on the principles of making the best, purest, safest e-liquid on the market, which is why they are my main supplier. They have a long, established track record and don't use any ingredients from PRC. They have a lot to lose if they don't do it right, which is a good thing...

Totally. Battery safety is not a vape-related phenomenon -- necessarily. It's something that most people should have a clue about, but don't. I, like you (if this is what you are saying), never knew much about those little jokers and how much respect they deserve. Now I tend to not want to be around a room full of people "testing the limits" of batteries. I'll watch a few seconds on a video, but the rest is simply pushing it (for me).

No I don't think its off topic it actually goes right in hand with e liquids and at home made juices. People will assume its safe because they see it being offered in a store and often being sold by a store whos intent is to sell you something and many times they may sell you a device or liquid they know nothing about. That should be a concern of any vapers.

I do not want to be standing next to someone whose battery blows up, or has a health emergency due to some e liquid reaction because that person perceived it as safe but had no idea there's no regulations to check what's in the liquid.

Then don't put yourself in that situation. Simple.

Battery safety and eliquid safety issues being conflated is a stretch only Mister Fantastic could make.

Joppa, could you please stop trying to argue with every post I make, everything isn't directed at you.

You're the one who is arguing for FDA oversight. I'm just responding to your flawed reasoning and pointing out how FDA oversight would only limit our choices and solve none of the safety issues that you seem to have. Once again if you don't feel safe vaping...don't do it.

And I might point out as many others have...there is an FDA Regulation section in this forum that has lots of information. I highly suggest checking out some of the threads in there.
