You missed some edits... Then I would just charge it back for non-delivery of product. They would not only be out the product and the shipping, but would need to pay a charge back fee.

No. It's not their fault you tried to import something illegal. They delivered it to this country. Customs seizures are on you. They aren't returned, they are destroyed.

The solution for that is simple... people would just dispute it saying they never placed the order in the first place. (People do this all the time, not that I agree with that, but in the situation we are describing, it would run rampant). The chargeback fees that fasttech gets hit with would get old pretty fast for them. A $35 chargeback fee on a $10 item (that they are also out on) along with the loss of shipping expense.

Then those people are :censored:. fasttech is a big company that ships all kinds of things all over the world. I doubt charge-backs would break them, even though I am very skeptical that such charge-backs would happen in the first place.

You agree to Fasttech's terms and conditions when you check out, before you check out.

If enough people say their credit card was stolen for x purchase, then eventually the CC company will have a fraud alert for FT and call you or make you call them in order to complete any purchase.

Which is fine, FT also accepts bitcoins and/or you just tell your CC company that yes, you are indeed ordering those Bluetooth speakers.

FastTech still takes PayPal. And you can also buy gift certificates and then use those.

I think if that's done too many times the cc will cancel your account and your credit will take a hit.

When Vaping becomes illegal even possession will be illegal. There will only be things that have a dual purpose like batteries etc that will be legal for purchase.

If customs really wanted to get snippy about it they could come and bust you for attempting to obtain an illegal product, not that they would go to the trouble to bust everybody but they will make an example out of a few as a deterrent.

It would only take a very very low percentage of seizures ending up as chargebacks to have a major impact.

If an item cost them $7 and they are selling it for $10 and their shipping expense is $1, they are making $2 on that item. A chargeback that cost a $35 fee, the cost of the item ($8) and the cost of the shipping/handling/packaging ($1) means they are out $44. Which means they would need to sell 22 more of those $10 items just to break even on that loss without turning a profit.

Source? This is not something I have seen a single mention of, and I've been paying close attention.

There's been no mention of such drastic measures in the U.S. yet. but it's that way in many countries that have made vaping illegal.

A charge back only affects the CC company, NOT the retailer who sold and shipped x item in accordance with their policies.

A CC company can't force Fasttech to foot the bill for an item they sold and shipped - to the CC holders address, at that.

I'm just saying common sense tells me that is all.
Weed is still illegal to possess in my state and they will still bust someone for having just a seed.

Yep, but I assume Tigger meant the US. And I don't mean to ....-in but I just don't like statements like that being made if there's no evidence that it's on the table, because a lot of people are already freaking out. And if there is evidence that it's on the table in the US, I'd like to know for sure.

I could be wrong, but I think it is against Paypal's policy to buy vape gear (if not, it probably will be).. if it is, they would just shut down fasttech's account after a high volume of complaints.

No your right in pointing that out since as yet there's no mention of it here.

Fasttech sells plenty of items that have no relation to vape gear.

Again, it's your job to know your countries laws. And when your having items shipped to your PayPal address it's difficult to say it wasn't you making the purchase.

I know you'd like to order gear without taking a financial hit after deeming hits, but it's just not going to happen.

That's incorrect. I know this for certain because I have been on the receiving end of those fees, unjustly. Lost the product and also was hit with a $35 fee. The CC company loses absolutely nothing, they actually make out on chargebacks by collecting the $35 fee. They revoke payment and it is deducted from your merchant account.

Sorry, I just thought everyone realized that this is where it's heading in the US. Look at Mass. for instance.

Fasttech is in China. They aren't subject to U.S. law and they rarely subject themselves to international law.

have fun with that dude, but if your ordering illegal goods and they get seized, your taking the hit.

Black market goods are pricy for a reason.
