What is most astounding to me is the complete about face from the battle cry
"if we don't fight the FDA deeming closed systems will be all we will have to look forward to!!!!"
at the beginning of the fight
TO
"hey, closed systems are not so bad at least we will still have something to vape"
now
....just wow

The "think about the smokers who might never get the chance to vape" has become the vaper's equivalent cry of "think about the children" and some wonder why the division is growing.
I wanna print & frame this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha. I never once made any kind of arguement in terms of a 'battle cry', I don't do that. I make a logical decision based on my reasoning skills. This has led me to believe that no matter how many petitions I sign, things will change, and not for the better. That is why I am up to Years and years and years worth of gear so far and I'm not stopping.
i never believed that these proposals would be beaten down to nothing. I don't think any of you believed that. It's a shame but I think these inner quarrels divide us much more now.

Just carry on buying so you do not give any more of your money to BT
But, If people you know decide, in the future, to try and vape but have to give their money to BT in order to live a healthier life with ecigs. So be it. :(

Slamming? Haven't seen that here yet. Guy in the video slams them but I didn't pay him much mind.

I remain concerned for vaping as a whole if someone representing closed systems is our voice to congress. I have yet to see a reason given as to why that shouldn't be a concern for those of us that wish for open systems to remain on the market with a predicate date change.

I'll also add that if there had been a decent closed system when I started vaping, I'd most likely still be using it. Sure, the open systems are nice, but I'm getting to the point to where I'm tired of rebuilding, tired of making my own e-liquid, and tired of cleaning up leaks and drips. Not to mention the hassles of ordering the stuff now.

I, like countless others, want simple and easy. Some of the newer pod type systems are providing exactly that.

I'm a gearhead. "Hassle with it" is my middle name. Cars. Motorcycles. Shooting. Martial arts. Computers. Vaping. If it can be taken apart, I'll do it. I'm not going to say I'm some kind of genius or anything but I can follow any lead(er) wherever (it | they) may go.

I'm sure as long as I'm vaping, I'll be right there checking out the new gear, but for right now, and the next six months to a year, I'm building out my stockpile based on open systems.

Why should it matter? If they're advocating against the current regulations and asking for it to be rolled back or done away with, what they do or make should not even be part of the picture.

For those who remember me receiving the Zephyrus missing the screws... I went back and forth a few times trying to get them to just send the screws, but finally gave up. If they were determined to send the whole thing, just for me to get the screws and return it, so be it.

I waited a few days and did not receive anything. I emailed them again. It's now been 12 days (from the initial email). They have not responded to my last two emails. I'm giving them until tomorrow to respond and I will be visiting the review forum. It started out as a manufacturer QC problem, but is now developing into a vendor problem. :(

I'm not talking about just here, also FB and other social sites. We are relatively tame compared to outside of ECF. LOL

Back on topic, anyone buying anything today? :D Not me but I did get the Kraken set up with a single coil (after 4 attempts with pre-wired coils, don't laugh). It sure is a pretty thing and so much easier than the kayfuns.

But the price point I am seeing on the refills for the Pods beyond the pods themselves will prevent a lot of people to shift from smoking.

While we always talk about the health benefits. Vaping costs vs smoking costs is one of the attractions that draw people.

Lot of folks have quit using Blu and similar systems, which are just as expensive (if not more) than some of the pod systems that are out. While cost can be a factor in quitting, people like me wanted an alternative to smoking that wasn't as harmful.

Perhaps you could explain the situation better and make sure that I'm understanding this all correctly. Because I didn't know who Dimitrios or the VTA was before that video.

Whe I watched the video it appeared that he is the leader of one of the larger advocacy groups, and employed by a closed system manufacturer. Neither of those things concerned me. Now what DID concern me was the fact that he made it seem like he and his group were the one's that had the ear of congress when it comes to the language that is being put in. It also concerned me that he was telling everyone the language couldn't be changed while talking about changing it. He also told a room full of people that no matter what they did open systems were dead and Cole-Bishop would change nothing.

IF a leading advocacy group who has the ear of congress stands to gain from legislation being tanked that would benefit everyone, I would think that would be concerning to us all. A predicate date change means very little to closed systems as everyone here tells it.

Maybe I'm confused. Like I said I don't know much about the guy or the group. Some history would be nice. Knowing a larger group was working for open systems and had more pull would be nice.

And the price point now is before the states stick their hand out wanting.

I see your point. However, if a smoker is sincerely interested and committed to stop smoking, the price in the long run shouldn't matter. Consider the alternatives: the cost for Nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, and prescription stop smoking meds vs a starter vape setup vs tobacco cigarettes.

No one can put a price of good health and an extended life.

If it (CBA) doesn't pass, the predicate date will remain 2007, no open systems, the committee should vote on it this late fall.

Go ahead bro. I'd buy em all for an old set of halos hanging around if you want.

I understand what you mean but there are a few positives to be drawn.
    1) we all have enough time to get ready. Could have been so much worse.
    2) if it's that important to you to switch, you will still be able to
(We will all just have a better vape than most :pervy:)
    3) public opinion and perception of ecigs will be drastically changed when using this new gear becomes popular and sold by BT
    4) vaping will be different, but at least it won't be gone.
    5) if it's super important to you. Where there is a will, there's a way. I will break into that little pod and refill and rewick it. Guaranteed. 100%

Ok just for my own info and wanting to see what all the fuss is about I am trying a Mod Pod Wimsec's MyJet. It is refillable, might be fun for out and about or while on a trip traveling etc if you don't want to risk loosing your good stuff :) If anyone wants to try it just use this coupon code for $10 off:
VaporDNA Then we can all decide for ourselves, is this the new wave in vape and can we stand it?! LOL

Oh and this was my first US order and it said my age was verified, but I didn't have to do anything, so not sure how they know?? Some background network?? If my state comes after me for buying tobacco product I can send the taxes for this small purchase no biggy!
