All this talk of tanks, mods, mechs & regs, drippers, gallons & gallons of nic that everyone is stockpiling.

So with everything bought inc. juice, wire & cotton,
What sort of cash totals are we at now? Myself is around £2000. Possibly more, I don't dare find out.

Is anyone else getting partner aggro over all of this stocking up?
Nope, the opposite in fact. My wife of 30 years has never used tobacco. But she knows what I'm like without my nic and doesn't like me that way at all. So ever since I showed her the Dooming proposal back in April of 2014, she's had the attitude: Make sure you've got enough stuff to make those fools irrelevant for the rest of our lives. I took her advice to heart and have spent the last two years stocking up.

LOL if the dark ages/heavy taxation doesn't end up happening I am going to be teased FOREVER about this
Why? Investments should be made by weighing their both their upside and downside potential. Stocking up has huge upside and practically no downside. That's pretty much the definition of a wise investment.

I got the Pico, it is so cute! I can see why people like, very small and easy to pocket :) I got more tanks and more parts :)

Picos are great. Even though I was done shopping, other than some more nic, I had to order another one in brushed stainless steel from FT. And another Bellus tank so it doesn't feel outnumbered by the Merlins. And some more drip tips. And a few other things I can't quite remember right now. But honest, I'm done stocking up.............for today.

I haven't totalled up what mine is yet, but some of my stash is also to help out others if/when they need it. I do know though, that whatever the total ends up being...it's WAY LESS than what I would've spent on 1 - 1 1/2 PAD smokes for the same time period my stash will last me! That's only based on today's current price per pack, too. Who knows what the price of smokes will be over the next 12-15 years?

Also, my improved health through vaping is priceless to me. So for me personally...whatever I've spent on stocking up was fine with me.

It's not a waste at all. It will all get used and there is no way that it will be less expensive in the future. My mental state has been that of a person who's very survival is being threatened. That is how I am feeling. I couldn't help myself if I wanted to. My survival instincts are sharply honed.

There is no doubt that in my state, best case scenerio is that we'll be paying double for everything. They'll still tease me for being such a type A about it. They'll be very happy that I did it, but the teasing will still happen. I can live with that

Time for DIY, I have 5 gallons of 100mg nic coming my way which will be way more than a lifetime's worth plus some extra to make some juice for my friends, once I learn how :)

Pffft, 5 gallons. I took advantage of the 20% off coupon yesterday at Heartland Vapes.

They even threw in USPS First Class mail for free, too.:pervy:

That is THE best summing up of the concept behind stocking up that I've heard. :thumb: That's exactly what I've done. It's a good feeling to know that I'm set for many years to come, no matter what happens with regs, taxes, etc. on vaping gear.

Just a couple of things I would like to remind everyone of. I have a particular favorite drip tip- I like the silicone ones from Fasttech. I have lost only one drip tip since I started vaping. (somewhere in my 5 acre yard) I have stocked up on my favorites.

Also, since many are stocking up on many years of nic, a nic test kit would be a good thing to have. Wizard Labs has the kits, but I just bought the chemicals themselves from Wizard.

I'll bet if you tell them that you're stocking up now considering ALL of you, or you can do it just for yourself now...and in the future they'll have to not only find their own vape supplies, but pay the then current prices for what they can find...the teasing will come to an abrupt halt! :D

Yeah heh, true. I figure when I get tired of doing everyone's coils for them, I'll just get slower and slower on returning the rebuilts to them. A serious nic fit may change their minds about learning to do for themselves. Right now I am all about softening the blow for them tho.

A lot of mine has been done over the years I have been vaping, more so in the last year but I went for a period of 2 previous years buying nothing other than coils and diy eliquid supplies. I do have way more gear, going by accounts here, than the average user or most other hobbyist.
Hopefully people are not hurting themselves financially, buying what they honestly can afford concentrating mainly on nic base and repairable mech mods/attys, all of which can be purchased for low cost with creative shopping.

I have a very limited vaping budget. I have bought slowly over the last couple of years. I did do one last shopping spree yesterday, but that was because I had earned some extra money a couple of weeks ago. If people knew how low my budget is, they would laugh. But, through my slow but steady prepping, I have what I need.

Part of the high upfront costs for me come from my starting vaping only a few months ago after 6 or so months of cigalike use. So starting with nothing left me with the need to buy from the basics on up. No half full drawer to have backing me up.

The good part is thanks to my crash course here, I've made generally well though out selections, and reasonably sensible spending choices. I can't point to any item and say "that was terrible" (OK, one, that faulty, leaky KF 5 clone from FT I returned for credit, probably just the individual unit). In fact, I'm happy with all my mods and tanks. So I may have accelerated my purchasing due to events, but I probably would have spent the same, just over a longer time frame, and I will get use out of everything I've received to date. I can't complain about any waste in my spending.

I had a total of four different carts ready to order last weekend, but didn't pull the trigger on three of them as the deals weren't that special. The fourth, which I would have gone for, came up with this on 7/1 "Our site is closed because of Indiana regulations. Will reopen tomorrow."

It's been a few tomorrows. Dammit. Welcome to our future.
I noticed that too.I always check them first because they usually have crazy deals going, but sadly tomorrow may never come.

I put one of those counter apps on my phone (and my signature somewhere),, it keeps track of days without a cig and $$$ saved. with my stock piling, shinitis episode, mistakes, pifs and 'whatever else'.. I still am ahead $$,,, and way ahead when I think about that I actually like the stuff I have already bought. I am sure a few things will come out that I will really want,, but lets suppose innovation got killed/or I am stuck on my boat for a really long time.....I am happy enough with what I have and love the idea that my hobby/habit is low cost going forward.

you and I are likely very grateful to all of those who vaped before us,,,,,,they paid & worked out the kinks so that we could buy pretty decent mods/tanks/supplies with very little hassle other than financing it all.

That is the truth. Other than one sketchy purchase made before finding this place, the information available allowed me a smooth sail into vaping. The industry itself has made so many strides in just a few years that finding good equipment is far easier than what someone would have been looking at even a few years ago. And prices are way better than just a few years ago too (a Provari 2.5 for >$100 2 years ago, now an out of date clearance item for $35, yet still works just fine if you only want low power).

The sad part of these new regs is the loss of innovation that will occur in an industry that was advancing exponentially. I am happy with what I have now, but I'm left to wonder what could have come to market in the next year or two if only manufacturers would have been allowed to develop new products without spending ridiculous amounts on obtaining approval.

I've been down this stockpiling road before.
I have enough food and water to feed a family of 6 for 2yrs. not to mention ammo along with enough gold and silver to fill a large backpack.
Now I just need the economy to collapse or a zombie apocalypse to happen so I can buy truck loads of vape products for $20 bucks a pop. You wanna eat or you wanna vape.....lol.

On a serious note though, juice and devices are going to be available for me in my state for at least the next 2yrs and possibly longer if the Cole Bishop Amendment passes this fall.
So there is no 8/16' deadline date for me, worse case would be 8/18', but with a $3.7 Billion dollar market vaping isn't going anywhere atm as I've confirmed this with 2 local vape shops now. I will also be calling my Senators real soon too.

Given the information that I now know, I'm not running around yelling that the sky is falling :p

I just talked to my local vape shop and they confirmed my thoughts.
They are a really small 'mom&pop' shop.
Their house liquid will still be available as they found a iso 7 lab that will make it for them.
They also said the price of liquid will stay the same unless the lab raises prices over time.

They also confirmed that other than not being able to make liquid; coils and such, it's business as usual for the next 2yrs as they have been in constant contact with our senate representatives for confirmation.
Everyone with questions about your particular state tobacco regs should contact you local gov to confirm.

As it stands atm, we need the Cole Bishop Amendment to pass this fall to change predict date. It has bipartisan support also.
Here is a vid from totally wicked that sums up the changes coming.
.

I watched half of the video [wrote this and went back and finished the video]. Nothing new here. He seems like some kind of marketing specialist, not a lawyer.

According to Totally Wicked, we're good to go for 2yrs. He does not address state regs for products deemed tobacco, wherein products may not be sold online, may not cross state borders, and CC do not allow payment for said goods.

Not much was said abt raw nic base. I doubt the FDA allows it to be sold over 12mg/ml.

I'm abt half way to stocking up and I'll finish. Within 2 to 3 months, if I need anything but flavors and batteries over the next decade, I'd be surprised.
