And their paranoia is on a very solid foundation. I've been a professional geek for over a couple decades now and it's not a question on "if" your site is compromised it's "when".

Completely agreed on sites, but if I'm putting in the same information for age verification that I do for orders where is the additional risk?

What I don't like is DL and selfie plus last 4 SS#'s. I am not doing a DL selfie and SS 4 digits anywhere, it just crosses the line for me personally. I will do a signature at delivery of legal age, the rest not.

    Aw...just go for it!

It's really hard to beat a 40W, name brand mod, that takes a replaceable battery, for $12.95...isn't it? You deserve at least one! I've never tried a KBOX, but have gotten several of them to stash and for other people, too, at that price!

I have a KBOX. I can vouch, it's pretty darn dependable, I have a stainless one. All my RDAs (listed in my signature) fit perfectly, some of my tanks, R91% and Orchid work great too on it too. No gap or fire issues. I would highly recommend if you like vape up to 60w's. That price you listed, would ensure on getting it. I paid more for mine, but KangerTech were one of first major companies in the game, not a Provari but second as far as dependability (IMO). I say, go for it, that cheap of a price, you'll def gain not lose.

My problem (if it can be called a problem) is. My cell number isn't the same information they get for orders. I am old school and actually still have a land line. It doesn't even have caller ID on it  so definitely doesn't accept text messages. That is what e-mail is for in my case. If what I was trying to order was something I couldn't live without I MIGHT try to find a work around but it was just something I thought I might like to have. No biggie so I am not forced into jumping through their hoops.

The all the information that is asked for, photo or yourself "with" ID, last 4 of your SSN, Current Address, CC#, Phone #. All this information is ripe to be plucked and used to access/compromise everything you own/ID Theft or have access too.

Good to know! It is really tough these days to be annonymous if you use a CC anywhere let alone SS#.

Yep, I never use my real name online, I've been in this business too long to be so foolish to do so. Any Social Media, forums, etc. ALWAYS and I do mean ALWAYS use a pseudonym, I cannot stress this enough. Now this won't guarantee you're 100% safe but it makes it much, much more difficult. Think of it like this, a thief casing two neighbourhoods one has locked doors, dogs and alarms, one doesn't. Which one are they going to pick to rob?

I already have 4 50watt kboxes and love 'em so the ones I was going to order were just something to play with not something I need and at this point have finally decided I don't even want :D

*high five* I agree, I'd cross the line with me also, I would stop right there and not do business with any company asking for that much info (even all the info on just the DL is a little much as it contains your DL# and address) and I would never photocopy or fax that info as it can be used/saved at another time by whomever. With all that info they're asking for, someone could; open up an account in your name, open up cc's in your name, get a loan, etc. Bad bad bad.

I was thinking about how the age verification has been a pain to use for some ordering online and wondered is this causing anyone to not order online?? I have not ordered from a US vendor since pre 8-8.

For me it will depend upon how much they ask for to verify. I am not giving up to much of my personal data so that it can end up in someones scam network - I am sure there is enough of my data already floating about - do not need to add more...

Everything that I may need in the future should not need verification so I am just in a wait and see mode...

You're old school? Shoot, you know what I have in my bedroom for sh-'s and giggles? Also because it looks so cool..

Same phone, same color. Makes me feel like I'm calling the president or batman when I use it. I have it connected Bluetooth to my cell phone, but it works like normal. I'm a techy dude, I like watching Antiques Roadshow, I appreciate old Americana pop culture, hence why I own one of these relics. I'm still trying to complete my retro vintage appliance look in my home. Next is a silver bullet fridge and toaster. Trying to find as new condition remades or new remodeled retro ones. I don't know. Now that I'm getting older, I'm appreciating older things as I mature..

Something happened lately with the alcohol industry too. Hubby has to show I.D. when purchasing face to face.......He's in his 70's. We're getting really, really pis.....upset at "the kids." :grr:

I had a lady ask me for ID when I picked up wine the other day - she apologized for doing it. Hey, I told her she was doing her job and that at least for a moment I was 40+ years younger... :D

As I pointed out in an earlier post...
You can get a phone number for free from Google and use Google Hangouts (also free) to get (and send) texts. So there are ways around it if you have no cell phone or don't want to give your cell number out. I installed the Google Dialer on my tablet and it's now a wireless phone if I want it to be.
My sister has a cell phone, I do not. However, we intend on getting rid of our landline soon, so I'll be using my tablet and PC as phones, thanks to Google. Easy to set up a Gmail account and get your free phone number.

We Coloradans pretty much only use north-south-east-west directions, and internally sneer at folks who use left-right. Except for my kids, of course. My hubby has decided to pretend he doesn't understand them when they say "take a right"--"my right or your right?" or "but where are the mountains?" Putz.

I miss Colorado. I lived in Colorado Springs for 3 years when my father was stationed there when I was young. I miss the red rocks and awesome rock formations. I went there again to visit on vacation in my mid twenties, older, I met some extremely nice, open minded, good to nature, outdoor active, hippie type people up in Boulder. Reminded me of the people down here in Austin. My kind of folk with their head bands and love for organic products and sustainability. I myself, will never wear a tie dyed headband. lol

Cool, I wouldn't mind one of those either. I would use it in the living room for all the young-in's visiting to stare at...:lol:
They would be like my niece was a number of years ago when I still had a rotary dial phone. She wanted to call her mom. She was standing there staring at the phone. I finally asked her if she was done. Nope.....she didn't know how to dial it  :lol::lol:

Just got my Pearl White PV mini back today from a bit of adjustment by ProVape. It was a blem and bought for $30. Postlady brought to door for signature. When I got it and other blems, no signature required. :)
Interesting, I have ordered from Provape for 5 years and always had to sign for packages. with something that expensive, I figure they want to be sure it is delivered.
