Whutta mega thread! :thumb: May I ask about nics? How long can I keep them? I mean shelf life if I stock 'em? I was able to buy only once and I am now halfway through my stock. When I tried to get some more, that one and only seller don't sell them anymore. Currently looking for a new source and this time I will try to get as much as I can when I find one.

You'll get some good answers from people telling you that freebase will last years in the freezer, when stored in original packaging or properly repackaged.

But I was just researching nic salts before placing an order, and saw on Chemnovatic's site (supplier for NicRiver), that they say nic salts are more stable, oxidize slower, and have longer shelf life than freebase. Seems I read on another source that nic is more stable when combined with acids, making them nic salts.

I like Glass bottles for nic storage. I don't trust plastic for long term. Boston Rounds are my choice, FWIW.

I have enough “stash” to open a store and still have enough to last a longtime.

My biggest worry continues to be if 18650 batteries will be available in 20-30 years. I have some mods that take other size batteries but not many.

Even mech users who think they’ll be all set with no electronics to go bad won’t be able to use their mods if they’re no batteries for them.

I kind of wish I had to worry about what will be around in 20 or 30 years. I know some folks make it to 100 these days but they probably didn't smoke cigarettes for 50 years.

Anyway, someone will probably make a battery sled to convert the lima bean sized 50,000 mah batteries that will be around then.

As long as there's demand for 18650's they will be around. Heck, you'd think that carbon-zinc cells would have been replaced completely with alkaline by now. You can still buy those in the same formats that were available when I was a kid.

When people stop buying 18650's then the profits will degrade and the market will be considered dead. I think we have many more years for a compact 18650 cell to earn its keep.

There are many uses for 18650s. Even some Amazon rechargeable portable fan use them. So I think that battery will be available long after vaping gets hammered hard

If I hit 90 I might smoke. LOL. Just you know, because I was 90.

Everyone says (even my palm reader at work who is SO COOL, he is all like, "yeah, I read palms but I'm not psychic or anything, I just go by the book) the older I get, the happier I am going to be. Oh, also, and richer.

I better get cracking on the money thing then, that or hope my mommy dies in a horrible plane accident and we get plane money plus all her investments. But, of COURSE I don't hope that so I better get busy.

I have been known to say that I married once for idiocy, once for love.

If I ever marry again it will be for money. A straight up business proposition because learning to live with someone is HORRIBLE no matter how much you love them or not. I bet it's easier with SERVANTS.

LOL.

Maybe choose a rich guy who doesn't have any vape gear and has no interest in building or DIY'ing. You'd be in a great bargaining position.

In the space that the 18650 occupies, one could easily put a circuit board that takes 12-15V and knocks it down to 4.0V. This would take care of about 95% of my vaping needs, since I spend the bulk of my time at a desk or in a car. Every car has ~100W of "12V" power readily available within easy reach of the driver and 12V desktop power supplies aren't hard to find either.

Yes, this would be a "corded" vape, somewhat less convenient than the battery powered, cordless ones we're used to, but but still much better than no vape at all. :)

I only bought 2 items last year. A STM for fun. And a gold Provari which I always wanted but thought I would never get a shot at. That's about 2 weeks worth of smoking. Probably less as the price of cigs has gone up.

Yesterday I splashed out on an impulse and ordered a couple of black EhPro KFL's. You don't see KFL's often these days. I didn't have any black ones. I keep 4 KFL's running, they are all different colors so I can keep track of juice flavors. Now I'll be able to have 5.

Mods are starting to worry me a little. The battery caps on a couple of Picos are getting dodgy. I was using one Pico for TC and it stopped working, just wouldn't read the resistance correctly. It's fine in power mode. Should I throw a bunch of Picos in the stash box while they are still available cheap? I'm leaning towards crossing my fingers as a strategy on this one.

Overall vaping is pretty cheap these days. The gold Provari probably doubled my expenses for last year.

If you decide to get more....RMV still has them in Grey for $22.40 + Free S/H. Use code: TURKEY

Yeah, I keep checking them out. And last time I looked they had them for around $25 on FT in a whole load of different colors I never saw outside China.

Not my fault... honest. Mod disappeared just before going on holiday. Prefer dual 18650 TC. Researched and ordered an Innokin Proton with expedited shipping. Realized it still wouldn't arrive in time so went local and picked up Smoant Battlestar to replace missing Smoant Charon (they use same chipset). The Battlestar is a nice, solid mod with compact feel in hand that I and expect to last several years. But whoa, that Proton is a really, really sweet mod. Too early to talk about reliability (though promising) but all other aspects are just stellar. Likely the best mod I've owned. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,, in last 2 weeks my last 2 picos died, my last Griffin tank seized up. Leaving me with 2 avocado + 1corolla + 2 Pico squeeze.+ 2mechs. The Pico squeeze have been very dependable.. So. I had to go into my stash and discovered I don't care much anymore for my avocados..and the corolla didn't appeal to me anymore. So anyway my equipment failures occurred while driving around... .Oh no you didn't !!! Not twice in the same week,,, stop at vape shop decided buy a Voopoo Drag for the living room, ordered Nikola Medea for my car. Squeeze for carry around.... Then to rethink the tanks.. Bellus, silverplay, serpent smm, sapor. I think I bought too much,, oh well that's it for next couple of years. I didn't intend on buying so many tanks,, whatever I don't like will go into the zombie box. Everytime I think of trashing my 'broken' gear,, I remember a talented person could get most of it up and running again even if it's Frankenstein.

Voopoo Drag-2 18650 batteries,, guys might like it,, way too large and uncomfortable hard edges for smaller hands... I got a good price and it will live next to the couch.

Nikola Medea - 2 18650 batteries ,rounded edges can be a daily carry in a pinch,,

Both mods allow me to sample newer tanks if I want (24mm ,not just 22mm,,maybe even 26mm)

Will be looking for a daily carry 1 18650 battery,, don't know if I will stick with Pico or not... No slam to Pico.. I wore them out.

Anyway,, my point is don't count on your stash satisfying your current vape style.. Would like to see Lipo4 batteries in 18650 form,,,car battery form is around $1000!(for good reason)

So now I have a box of dead gear, box of don't like gear, and box of keep gear/parts.. All 3 boxes would fit into 1shoebox lol,,, this messing up my minimalist life ! 1st world problems.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent,, and stop by to say 'howdy':)

Good to hear from you! I know what you mean, our vape styles change over the years. Have you considered a Jac or Dicodes? I added one of each to my stash. I also like the Berserker RTA.
