Damnit.

I agree about the heat thing but in AZ you just eat it. Anytime you go out your car will be destroyed, and that's all there is to it. Garages don't actually prolong life that much because it's nighttime. it's cooler anyway.

Seriosuly there is NO good form of transport in Az. other than a freight train. But it won't have AC. Prepare yourself ahead of time to hydrate heavily with Mad Dog. Your kidneys and liver will thank you.

Nah, they keep your car cool when it's hot and sunny out. They keep you from getting soaked when it's pouring rain. They keep you from having to scrape the snow and ice off your car in the winter (not applicable in Florida or southern Arizona). They keep tree stuff (pollen, seeds, leaves, etc) from clogging up the various water drains. Bottom line: A garage-kept car will last a lot longer than one that spends its life parked out in the elements all the time.

Yeah, we've all seen the picture.

I would kill my hubs! Good news is, the nic freezer would be under the front end of the truck, so I could count on y’all to testify at my trial it was justifiable

The freezer I ordered finally came in so I picked it up tonight. I’m not sure where to set the temperature control. It goes from 1-6 with six being coldest. I set it at 4 to start.
For nic? I would set it to 11.

Oh wait, it only goes to 6. Set it there. :)

It likely isn't. My view:
  • A fridge is better than room temperature.
  • An auto-defrost freezer is better than a fridge.
  • A manual-defrost freezer is better than an auto-defrost freezer.
How much better? I don't know.
  • A cryogenic freezer would be best, but even I don't have one of those!
Use the best thing you've got. If you're shopping for a dedicated freezer for your nic, get a manual defrost one. They're less expensive, and for the purpose at hand, they're actually better.
A dedicated nic freezer also wouldn't build up ice as quickly because it wouldn't be opened and closed very often.

Here speaketh someone who lives not in a place where it snows.

A benefit of living where it does snow is that for winter parties we have ample room for beverages in the “hillbilly fridge” also known as the front porch.

We do not snow. We boil, fry, grill, and an occasional sautee, but.... I'd NOT leave my vehicular in that sort of heat!

Garages, they do ROCK!

I have a small bookshelf in my entryway that I regularly use as an extension to my fridge/freezer in the winter. It comes in very handy.

Here speaketh someone who lives not in a place where it snows.

It snows here! I have scraped off my car a few inches a couple times this winter.

It doesn't really snow like mad. Which is good because frankly I thin those people wo turn on the engine and come back after all the snow is melting are TOTAL cheaters. Event though I don't believe in climate change that much (I call it "the weather") this is this one weird mental tic I can't get rid of like "IF climate change is real, what will my idling do to the planet I could push it over the edge."

We do have HEAT too and it sucks being in an overheated car but that's usually during the day. I refuse to idle THEN too, because like. that's a waste of some perfectly good gasoline. So I just roll down the windows and suffer.

Wow, in reading this post I AM AWESOME!!!!!!!!! You guys should all band together to buy me a GARAGE! And a walk in freezer. I am doing my part for the planet!

Although, I will say the mobile. I mean "manufactured" let's stay classy will probably have a garage attached or we will plant a separate one. Not having one sort of sucked.

Only in Tucson when we did have one it was still not great. IT was so hot during the day... I had bought a black (inside and outside) VW bug not thinking and I got so tired of the sweat stains and stuff, I wound up driving it through a wash I was pretty sure it couldn't handle (I did confess it to the husband) and it fried the electrical systems an so now I have a nice. while. shiny (well not so much ) zippy Mazda 3 so it's all good.

I do NOT conserve gas by going the speed limit there are only so many concessions you can make.

I wish I had a chauffer of ANY sort. My insurance costs would go down considerably.

Also, I'm tired of curbing my car. I HATE it. I suck a curbs.

The first time I truly curbed my car it was pretty new. Me and the mommy were going to pick up the kid who had decided it would be a wise use of his time to take 16 hits of acid, then crash into some parked cars. He's not good at stealth either... When the police showed up he started yelling "I'm on acid, I'm on acid! Just shoot me!" They netted him and at first I was mad but when I found out his statements later (thank God) I was like less sympathetic. I was like, "If I were the police, I might have shot you... in the leg or something. Also, I am going to white privilege it here and say you are lucky you are WHITE you birdbrain."

So yeah, he had just been arraigned. That's a grim process. In Tucson they do it on video. My son was in the prison and frankly he LOOKED and SOUNDED just like a freaking felon. He looked like his DAD (to be fair, it did take a few months to like, um, well for his brain to settle down. That's why I shoved him in rehab, that plus, well "rehabilitation efforts and etc."

The kid complained the WHOLE time. I enjoyed it. He did not invite me to family week and I said, "Oh kiddo, I know what happens at family week, you are not hurting my feelings you are making me happy. I had my OWN family week, doofus.

But my point is, AFTERWARDS, I was so stressed out, I drove straight over TWO parking (curb) things (I hate them anyway and I did not see them. It was dark. So, I was teetering on those things and finally I was like, "F this" so I just revved the engine really hard, and it actually decided to drive over BOTH of them.

Nothing fell of my car-- to my awareness. That's the thing though "to my awareness." I'm probably missing some highly vital thing although the husband is ah, aware of my driving proclivities so he checks from time to time.

Don't ask me to drive you anywhere, ,and above all don't loan me your vehicle even if I am BEGGING.

So all's well that ends well as the kid did not become a felon but a productive member of society. He's also a much better driver than me and I taught him starting from the age of about 4 (we had this farm we would go drive at, it was sweet.

I guess if you can't do, teach can be true. LOL.

So yeah, he's better. Except when on 16 hits of acid.

I cannot even fathom taking that much acid and I am a TOTAL ADDICT. LOL.

I'm finding it really hard to not stock up with the way things are looking. The sky has been falling since I started vaping 6 years ago though so in the back of my mind I know I can get an apartment/new car in the fall and start stocking again this winter.
