I know this is vapocalypse prepping. We're prepping for a vaping apocalypse. I keep getting these flashes of a post-apocalyptic wasteland (thank you Bethesda
) combined with a running man/1984 cityscape.
Ten years ago, the vaping environment was totally laid back. It was like drifting through a revelation. Most vapers I met were very chill, optimistic, and joyful people. Innovation in products bloomed forth like the flower from a little flower bud. I never seriously thought vaping would become the huge social issue that it currently is, back then.
I suppose it was only a matter of time until we got to this state of humbugfuc*ery that we are experiencing. I didn't see it happening then, but accurate foresight is a rare thing. I considered some of the potential circumstances that might happen, but the odds (in my mind) were low things would end up the way they are now.
Vaping (great thing that it is) got more interest socially because of it's merits and more smokers switched over to vaping. Because of this it became more socially acceptable to vape nicotine instead of smoking tobacco. This was a great win on the tobacco harm reduction front.
The war started between the new and the old forms of nicotine consumption began and here we all are, years later, in the middle of this hurricane, hunkering down and waiting out the storm.
This storm will end though, no storm lasts forever. Try to prepare the best way you can, and stay strong. It'll take some time until the storm passes, but it will pass.
In the 20's I think that we will see more change in vaping laws than we expect. How that will happen, and what form that change will take, I don't know. If time has taught me anything it's that I cannot predict the future with a high degree of accuracy.
I can however hope for the future, and try to make my vision of it a reality. I guess that's all any of us can do. Vape on y'all.
Happy New Years folk.
