This guy does a good job, IMO, of telling all about the MiniFit (for newbies to it) and how to rebuild the pods. Plus, I kind of like listening to his accent.
I watched this before deciding to try the MiniFit. After rebuilding it for the first time, it just wasn't producing nearly the amount of vapor, as the original pod. I tried 30 Kanthal & 32 Kanthal but there was no difference. Very skimpy vapor production. I did some searching and found a discussion about rebuilding the MiniFit. (I wish I could remember where I saw the discussion). Others had the same issue with very little vapor production after a rebuild. As I kept reading I came across a link for pre-coiled NR-R-NR coils. That was the answer.
The MiniFit is a 3.4 V constant voltage device. What was happening was the legs of a standard Kanthal coil were heating up, and causing enough of a voltage drop, that the coil wasn't getting enough voltage to vaporize the eliquid properly.
$1.72 Pre-Coiled Welded Wires - NR-R-NR (50-Pack) 50-pack - 33 AWG / 1.8ohm / 30*30mm at FastTech - Free Shipping
Once I tried the NR-R-NR coils, the problem was solved. The MiniFit produced vapor as well as the original pod. Its also amazing (to me) how long the coils last. Its not my primary device, by any means, but I always have one on the desk, and throw it in my shirt pocket if I'm making a quick run somewhere.
The coils worked so well, that I grabbed a box of 10 minifits, and a few packs of spare pods. I now also have 500 of the NR-R-NR coils for rebuilding. At $1.45 for a pack of 50 coils, why buy one pack? For $14 I have enough until doomsday!

. I have several of each..Kroma R's, pico's, swags, swag 2, and Solo's 5 of these. I wanted something different so I added several Rim C's (like these) and Ehpro Cold Steel's (like these as well). At this point I'd love to say I'm done but I know me and I'm not gonna go there...I might add a couple more...correction I'm sure I'll get a couple more...ok several more...
