This guy does a good job, IMO, of telling all about the MiniFit (for newbies to it) and how to rebuild the pods. Plus, I kind of like listening to his accent.

I watched this before deciding to try the MiniFit. After rebuilding it for the first time, it just wasn't producing nearly the amount of vapor, as the original pod. I tried 30 Kanthal & 32 Kanthal but there was no difference. Very skimpy vapor production. I did some searching and found a discussion about rebuilding the MiniFit. (I wish I could remember where I saw the discussion). Others had the same issue with very little vapor production after a rebuild. As I kept reading I came across a link for pre-coiled NR-R-NR coils. That was the answer.

The MiniFit is a 3.4 V constant voltage device. What was happening was the legs of a standard Kanthal coil were heating up, and causing enough of a voltage drop, that the coil wasn't getting enough voltage to vaporize the eliquid properly.

$1.72 Pre-Coiled Welded Wires - NR-R-NR (50-Pack) 50-pack - 33 AWG / 1.8ohm / 30*30mm at FastTech - Free Shipping

Once I tried the NR-R-NR coils, the problem was solved. The MiniFit produced vapor as well as the original pod. Its also amazing (to me) how long the coils last. Its not my primary device, by any means, but I always have one on the desk, and throw it in my shirt pocket if I'm making a quick run somewhere.

The coils worked so well, that I grabbed a box of 10 minifits, and a few packs of spare pods. I now also have 500 of the NR-R-NR coils for rebuilding. At $1.45 for a pack of 50 coils, why buy one pack? For $14 I have enough until doomsday!

I bought online so there wasn't any way around it. I didn't even realize at the time that I had to pay sales/usage taxes.
Ah ha! I have actually heard of this happening to people! I was totally thinking if you went there physically!

I also bought these same coils to try rebuilding.....was going to wait till I had 3 or 4 to try. The wonderful problem is they seem to last forever! Lol

I would have read that article if um, it did not require me to sign UP. Like I'm sorry.. PAY for the news? I will do that if and when it ever becomes factual news again, not propaganda. I also really have NO interest in having to log in to read something, that is none of your BUSINESS what I'm reading although I realize I have minimal powers over that.

You know, my experience with tribes has all been in Arizona both border Mexico, and are considered to be (by those in the know including politicians, many of whom are working hand in hand with them) as some of the most violent. drug/gun/people smuggling groups of all TIME. It sort of makes me wonder if they get more leeway for that reason and/or if like, some of the politicians and the tribal members are working together to smuggle drugs/money/people I mean I hate to say it but AZ is NOT known as one of the LESS corrupt states at least THESE days.

It was not long ago that like, they were one of the "BIG 4" states (CA was one) I forget the other two, who were SELLING infants to CPS "Foster parents" who ONLY accepted babies and like, they would foster them one after an another (white ones or whatever race they were but it tended to be white families) until they got one they dug and the CPS worker felt could make the biological parent look terrible in court, and cash money was exchanged, once parental rights were terminated. I cannot even BEGIN to list all the ways you can make a poor, uneducated young parent look terrible in court compared to the foster parents who are with the kid all the time, and who "just spent 10K doing the nursery your honor."

It's sort of hard to say what is morally right or even best for the kid in that situation it really was. I mean, if you don't get a family member to foster a BABY you are often sunk.

There have been times I thought it was eminently fair a baby got removed, and times that it WASN'T.

Sigh. Like taxes/vape/tobacco I can't think of it all in one chunk or my head wants to explode.

Sorry for digressing.

A convenience store owner on the reservation where Foxwoods Casino is refused to collect & pay Connecticut state cigarette taxes a few years ago. He said -- rightly, as far as the law goes -- that he wasn't a resident of Connecticut but of a distinct nation and his store wasn't located in the state but in the sovereign territory of that nation. People were going there to stock up on cigarettes.
The state proceeded to place state cops on the roads going into the reservation to turn away anyone entering. The store owner backed down.
When it comes to their tax revenue, states will spare no effort. Road repairs, crime, etc., not so much, but taxes -- don't mess with them.

If you are interested, do a search re the Puyallup tribe in WA state and their troubles with the feds. Ultimately, the feds harassed them till they gave up after many years.

Here is one article about it.
State, Puyallups, sign agreement on cigarette tax

Yea - I know the State & Federal Gov is going after many - some lose and some win . . . It just depends on how much money the gov can get for what . . . Down here in Florida when the "agreements" between the Seminoles & State Gov come-up in the State legislation - IMHO - it's centered more about how much more money can the gov get their dirty little hands on - from the gambling profits . . . Not really worried about anything else . . . Even with that said - from what i understand after year of fighting in the courts, the Seminoles won their case in the States higher courts concernign additional taxes, but agreed to an addition surcharge of $1.00 per carton sold to be paid to the State . . . Just Sayin' . . .

EDIT: Example of FL State vs Seminoles on Gambling "Compact" (Notice $350 million dollar payment):

Same boat. Same storm. :(

Best of luck to you. Feeling your pain.

They CAN & WILL get records from these places to see who is and is not paying the sales/usage and vapor taxes.

Sounds like the Native American reservation route is not something to rely upon after all...

It could be useful (if still expensive) as a route for vapes that don't pass the FDA standard.

That is the kind of thing that Reservations like to do. I thought they would embrace the legal MJ thing but they haven't because they are major importers of the illegal "it." So they got no skin in the game. I'd think a reservation that is in a state with no legal MJ might be into it of courser there would be cops right outside the border arresting people left and right. Mail order (and not turning over records-- do they have to? I guess they must I mean there is not an opium den on every rez or even one than I can think of now...,.._

I am completely confused now. I'd have to look up codes and statutes and everything. No time. Getting up any second.

Since we're all stocking or have stocked up and most us order(ed) a lot of stuff through the mail ... has anyone ever gotten a package tracking message like this?:

The Postal Service has identified a problem with the processing of this item at 5:10 pm on July 30, 2020 in SOUTH JERSEY NJ DISTRIBUTION CENTER. The local facility has been alerted and is taking steps to correct the problem.

Processing Exception
SOUTH JERSEY NJ DISTRIBUTION CENTER

"Processing Exception" is a vague as can be. The package hasn't moved from NJ for 4 days and neither the seller nor the local P.O. can tell me any more about what it could mean. Calling the South Jersey NJ Distribution Center would probably be a waste of time. So, wondering if anyone might have had a similar situation and what the problem was.

The ban on USPS carrying vape stuff couldn't have become law and gone into effect overnight while packages were in transit, could it?

Might be because package could have possibly been damaged / opened . . .

    Somewhere between here and there
I had a package that sat for days at the local hub that was in a flat rate box. It had been opened and taped back shut. Someone took out 16 of 22 flavors and stuck a small tube of toothpaste in with the remaining six flavor bottles. The vendor reshipped it and now it’s been at the local fedex hub for four days. I’m betting that it’s lost.

My problem is just reading about the PMTA sends me scrambling to my stash for a recount...I then tell myself "no I'm good". Thinking about September sends me back to do the count again, nothing changed from the last time. I then convince myself to get "just a few" more things. The cycle repeats itself.
I now have 18 attys, 21 mods, 70 boxes of z coils, and 3 gallons of nic along with everything else. I can get 2 weeks from a z coil, I've done the math as to how long they'll last yet I'll still probably get a few more boxes . I have several of each..Kroma R's, pico's, swags, swag 2, and Solo's 5 of these. I wanted something different so I added several Rim C's (like these) and Ehpro Cold Steel's (like these as well). At this point I'd love to say I'm done but I know me and I'm not gonna go there...I might add a couple more...correction I'm sure I'll get a couple more...ok several more...
I've gotten much better at coiling and wicking. DIY juice...I haven't done it yet. Sourcemore has been perfect thus far.
