I can certainly +1 the DID!

Definitely a little fiddly to get your first couple of coils going, but once they are WOW! Amazing flavor, even some juices I didn't like before taste great and more like what my mind thinks they should taste like.

Got my DID about a week ago and I'm in LOVE

I'm going to be putting up 50 SS Boge 3.0's and both my VPX Cartomator tanks on the classies soon, now that I've tried genesis style attys there is no going back.

- Signed the man who received his Provari first.

Is it me or is the site down? I was hoping to test out the functionality before going in for the "full experience". I keep ending up with stuff that doesn't work right.. and I don't want my foray into the rebuildables to start the same way. It's also the main reason I did not go in for the penelope. I've had nothing but disaster after disaster as far as wicks are concerned, and did not want to commit to another wick style system.

Dusty, I know you have or had a Vivi Nova and just letting you know, I've had a great start in to the whole rebuildable thing with vivi nova ver1. The stock built heads were ok but some dry hits - just not enough room for the liquid to get to the coil. A simple fix was to remove the top floater piece of wick. It made a difference.

When I began re-wicking the heads - I noticed an improvement in wicking & taste right from the beginning. I've rebuilt about 10 heads, so far & can't complain. I just use one piece of wick with no floater on top.

It's a great little unit to start with. Took 2 tries to get right. Very simple.

What are you using for wire and wick Mike? I still have my V1 and V2 novas and about 5 or so unused heads.

Vapology

The silica wicks are a bit delicate to work with - I ripped the first 2 by overtighning the nichrome or kantal(don't know which I used) but the silica seems to saturate very nicely.

Order Summary:

Product Qty Price Subtotal
Kanthal Wire

1 $1.99 $1.99
Nichrome Wire

1 $1.99 $1.99
Silica Wick

2 $2.29 $4.58
Subtotal: $8.56
Shipping: $4.00
Tax: $0.00
Total: $12.56

Huge thank you to Chelly for pointing Vapology to me.

Dusty, welcome to the DIDhood.

I have 2 clear Kir Fanis tanks and have experienced no problems using them with both citrus and cinnamon blend juices; YMMV however. The citrus (lemon by Juggies) has been sitting in one tank for almost 2 weeks. While these tanks are for actual Kir Fanis units, I understand the material he uses is the same for the DID clear tanks.

If you insist on clear windows you can always try the 4.5ml ST stubbies now available at Canvape; they're supposed to represent a direct fit as reported by several DIDers. I'll be picking up a couple of those also.

DID tank dimensions reported:

Height is 27.3mm
ID is 17.4mm
OD is 19.8mm

If you're using an aggressive juice however, why not just stay with the SS tank it comes with? Personally I think it looks best in that configuration.

I've been using the DID for 6 weeks now and it's been great. Understand there is an initial fiddle factor to set it up properly and some people have more trouble with this than others; once properly set up it delivers excellent performance.

Cut down DCT's should work ok. The nice thing about the Kir Fani tanks however is they have an interior 'ledge' upon which the o-rings sit thereby squeezing them outward when tightened, for a better seal. It's a nice design.

I've changed wicks once and coils about 4 times. In both cases I didn't have to, but the tinkering bug got the better of me. I wanted to understand the differences between number of wraps, types of wraps, larger diameter vs. smaller wicks, etc. I could have just as easily stuck with the original set up for the last 6 weeks by simply dry burning the crud off the coil about once a week.

Dusty, although the DID comes with a supply of mesh and Kanthal wire, I'd recommend you order more. I unfortunately went through all the supplied wire during my early clumsy attempts and had to wait 2 weeks for more. The supplied amounts are enough to get going if you know what you're doing, but my learning curve was far longer than the manufacturer may have anticipated :)
