It takes a lot for me to say what I'm going to say, but I say it for those contemplating purchasing of the CJB. Don't .... It just doesn't satisfy me. The vape amount and flavor just simply does not satisfy me....the atty is just not up to the task.

Just wanted to let others know....I waited for a very long time and the product did arrive after a very long time and it just isn't up to snuff. I've given it a few weeks now and I've tried many various juices both vg and pg and ...

I'm not hating but for those that like it...well, maybe they got a good copy but I'm done with this experiment.

Save your money.

Carlos sent me my lid (or replacement lid, either way) a couple of days ago. Fits nice.

Whoa! I had no idea there was such a backlash against the mod! To me, it's still a very enjoyable little device.

I could tell a big difference between pre and post repair, when carlos made the latest tweak to his atty and its airflow. The trade off was decreased initial vapor volume and density for a flattened learning curve. While that vapor is increasing with increased use of the atty (seasoning) it has always had great taste and TH.

The two quibbles I have against the device are the tendency for the 801 mouthpiece to come off in transport and for the mod to leak if it is not carried upright with a bottle of juice.

To me, besides lack of communication and lack of standardization, the reasons behind the current backlash was the initial hype behind the mod when it was first released at the end of last year/beginning of 2010. It was seen as the holy grail of all pv's, the alpha and omega of vaping.

This is too high of a standard for any mod to live up to, period. All designs and builds have pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses. But if you've read up on this mod and think it may be up your alley (especially if you tend to have long, slow inhales), then it's not a bad choice at all. But you should know what you're getting into, as with any vaping device.

Wow I was out of town for a few days and just read the latest posts on this thread. I have always been kind and understanding (and I know NOT to expect the world from a home-made mod) so my experience with Carlos is much different. Both of my JB's were fixed and returned to me in a timely fashion and work wonderful. I will be buying the next generation of Juice Box, if that ever happens haha

That will have to wait ... lol
but if you read it I was refering to my father, rest in peace.

Okay, but you were imputing those qualities to another poster, thus implying that all veterans were like that.

And I knew you were kidding, as I was. I just couldn't resist a quick weekend warrior joke.

If I got a e-mail like that from you I would not give you a warm response either. It's obvious that your an educated person with a large vocabulary but you got a long ways to go on people skills. The way you posted this obviously shows that you did not put everything that was said between you two but just the things, you thought, would make him look bad. IMO it did the complete opposite. You must be ex-military like my dad, alway barking orders and throwing a fit when thing did not go his way.
Maybe you should go back to analogs like you said.
Just to eliminate any ambiguity;
If there were more money involved I would be seeking legal action. As it is I have chalked this episode up as another rip off and have moved on.

Sorry you're not liking your CJB; I know how long and how much you've looked forward to getting it.

So have the juice boxes been discontinued by Carlos and Alien Visions? I haven't seen them for sale anymore. I tried to get a replacement lid for mine and wrote several times without even a reply. I didn't ask for a free one, offered to buy it. Anyway, I have 2 juice boxes and keep swapping lids on them.

Well after all the waiting and repairs I have 2 wonderful working JB's. Its alot of BS but in the end there just isn't anything like the flavor and hit of the JB. And i've really got the whole bottle pushin thing down to a science. I totally understand the hate tho. All these new mods are cool and all but I really want to see some more work put into quality non-mass produced attys like the JB's.

Just for the record...Carlos did come through with the product he has as promised and it does work, it just doesn't give me what I need in an atty...it's kind of sensitive and wimpy...the vape is not what I personally need and the taste is, meh. I don't feel cheated in the purchase I just believe that some people overhyped it so that I expected more from it....now I have another mod(hint: puff) and it is what I believe I had in mind.

Nothing but love, here...no hate...no matter how this text comes across...no hate.

I may be playing with and writing about some new toys lately, but the CJB is still being vaped and hanging in there.

Honestly, after my 1st experience with the box, it's now hanging in there a lot longer than I expected it to.

One of the slightly evil joys about the mod is handing to a friend who is curious about vaping and watching them almost double over from the throat hit....

It's funny you tell that story Clyde that's how I got introduced to the CJB... and I have to say that I like it a lot.
There are some things that are kinda crude about it but the way I see it is that it is a "mod" and made by one person, by hand, not a crew of people stuffed into a factor making less than minimum, nor is it made on a machine. There are many nice mods out there but, as far as I can see, this is a one of a kind and I will be watching closely on it's progress.
Clyde I saw on some other thread that Carlos has a patent on this? do you know anything about it?

No idea, Carlos is pretty darned tight lipped. It's not like we're high school friends or drinking buddies, anyway.

I assembled my afs with a new carto this morning right before it was time to leave for work. It wasn't blowing as much vapor at 6v as it normally does, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of disassembling/reassembling it. When that's happened to me before in the past, it usually has meant that leak city was on the way.

I may have overfilled it, but I didn't want to take the chance. I've got too much to do today.

Knowing that I was going to have a desk/office day, I found myself reaching for my CJB. It's gone in my opinion from a temperamental toy to a trusted vape. One bottle of juice, maybe a backup battery just in case, and there ya' go. I cut my 80/20 pg/vg mix with a little pure VG, and it has made it easier to vape without cutting down on the taste. The only issue I really have with this is the propensity of the 801 tip to come off and get lost during transportation. And that's just an annoyance.

No new sales of the box have been announced, the juice box fans forum is all crickets and tumbleweeds, and the only posts out there are ones complaining about the mod or bashing carlos. I don't know what to say. Maybe I've been living right, or carlos put a little extra elfin magic into my repair, but the box is puffing along just fine. Again, the more I use it, the better it does. I'm also using dark juice so the atty backwash doesn't bother me as much.

May have to pm porphy and email the juice box pope to see what's going on.
