Has anyone tried to fit quads in there? Lol I tried to make some quad vertical coils. I think I could fit some in, but with 24 gage I'd have to aim for .1 ohm quads. I'm thinking 2.5mm 5 wraps might fit, I tried 7 wrap quads but they ended up being too tall.

No way I could do that. Deck is very tight. If you can figure it out I need to know how -- sounds awesome. :)

So I went to a local shop today because it was on the way to some other places I had to go, wasn't looking at buying anything, just to look around. I do most of my vape shopping online....
Ended up getting a kuro and I wanted some 28g kanthal, they were out so I went with some 26g....
Thought it was kind of interesting, the shop doesn't sell the Cthulhu, but the guy who showed me how to use the kuro knew what it was without seeing the Cthulhu on it.

And the 510 pin leak stopped after paying shipping for a new deck.

Edit: two 26g coils wrapped, 8 wraps around the 2.5mm bit, and ready to go.... Trying them out when this tank is done.... Shooting for .5 ohms....

Coils installed, checks out at 0.5 ohms, gave a few test pulses to check how long it took to glow, wicked with cotton, primed, tank assembled, top filled, leaks cleaned up, vaped, kind of disappointed....

Maybe the wicks weren't primed enough, figured they had an extra wetting with the leak from top filling.... Clouds were slightly bigger and thicker, the little bit of throat hit was gone and the flavor was lacking compared to my previous imperfect coils.... Maybe it's the liquid, too.... Don't remember vaping it before, but it's not a full bottle, either....
I'll let it sit over night and see if the flavor is there....
Maybe I'm finally picking up on the cotton taste, I haven't rolled coils at 2.5mm so there's more cotton/wasn't compressed to wick the coil, or the coil hasn't been broken in yet....

Edit: thinking it's the liquid....

I think I might be giving up on this tank. I really wanted to like it, and did at first, but now my replacement deck center post is starting to spin, the screws aren't going all the way in even though they have enough grab, and are yet again stripping. It's really disappointing, especially because I just got those quad coils to fit, almost had them firing evenly when I realized 1 of the screws would just not go in. If anyone else wants to try it, it was 24g quad coils, 2.5mm ID, 6 wrap vertical reading at about .12 ohms.

I'm hoping I can find the screw I lost and that one will work, but all the issues are starting to pile up with the leaking and everything. I'm hoping I can get it to work, otherwise I'll be keeping my eyes out on an RTA with bigger airflow.

After enough digging I found out that I still had the 2 extra screws, and the posts aren't stripped so that worked. The center posts still spins pretty easily. I have those quad coils in, just trying to get them to fire evenly while still fitting in the chimney, which is tricky. If the threads on the top part of the chimney where just a bit shorter, this would have been a lot easier. I'll get a picture up soon and hopefully get them firing evenly. Still, at 70 watts it's draining my batteries rather quickly on my sigelei, faster then my usual vaping at 150w on a dripper. I'm gonna keep going just because I'm now invested to see if they fit and how it works, but it doesn't seem worth it when it drains the batteries that much faster.

I think you'll really enjoy it. My best performing build on it was with 24g, 2.5 id and about 8 wraps. It gives you about .35 ohms or so and gives great flavor and vapor at around 40 watts. With coils like that, it's not hard to build on the deck. Only when you go for something huge like my quad build, I'll be posting pics in a second. I got them to fit perfectly fine, but I'm about to give up on it because I can't get them firing evenly, and it REALLY drains the batteries.

I don't know what's wrong with me. This simple dual coil build I have in my Cthulhu is working really nice, lights up evenly, but for the life of me I can't get this thing wicked right. I dread re-wicking because I'm finding it very hard to find the sweet spot on wick thickness. I've re-wicked this build 3 times since yesterday and every time I think it's perfect, I then start getting an off taste, and eventually it starts tasting burnt. I've followed pretty much every tip given on this thread and it still alludes me.

It uses less sick than you think. I barely have the ends hanging into my juice wells. I use japanese cotton, which has two halves. I trim so the only place there is a double layer is inside the coil.

Would you like me to take photos next time I re wick?

I'd love to see a picture of your wicking, I'm sure it would help, thanks. And I'm not sure what that part is but if you take a pic or describe it I'll see if I have a spare. I have an extra deck that I'm not really interested in fixing up anymore if it's something from there. I like to soak mine in a cup of soapy warm water before rinsing in the sink. We should make a mental note to close the sink stopper lol.

Haha. My sink has claimed many a small atomizer part. I'm looking for the screw that keeps the tank together from the top.

I'll take some shots in the next 24 hours when I re wick. Once you get it figured out, you'll be good to go!
