For those having problems with their deck sections, I emailed Cthulhu mods on their website a while back asking about what size the set screws were and they responded pretty quickly. Last night, I emailed them telling them the problems I found with the subpar machining on the airflow holes (not drilled through all the way on the vertical with tons of burrs on the inside of the horizontal) and told them one of the original set screws was now stripped out completely and stuck in the post.

I asked if they could send me a new deck section. They responded within an hour asking for my mailing address and phone number for tracking purposes so they can send me a new deck.

I would say that if anyone is thinking of throwing in the towel, just shoot them an email and they should take care of it. They didn't ask for any serial numbers or where I purchased it from, so they seem very eager to fix any problems that may be out there.

Also, I know I posted it before, but here again is a link for the set screws I bought recently. They fit perfectly and being 316L are much less likely to strip out like the supplied ones did. McMaster Carr 92029A087

That's really nice. My air holes seem to be pretty clear. Unfortunately that store I found for the drill bits turned out to not be a store but an office for call orders. 3 addresses listed as stores that were non-existant.

For those with access to a Grainger, or you could just order it online, but here are the drill bits and screws they have. They screws seem to be virtually the same as one Mc Master Carr, but I can't find the branding.

Screws: GRAINGER APPROVED Set Screw,M2 x 0.40mm,4mm L,PK100 - Socket Set Screws - 31KK49|M51260.020.0004 - Grainger Industrial Supply

1.1mm Left Handed Drill Bit: CHICAGO-LATROBE Screw Machine Drill Left-Hand,3/64 In - Screw Machine Length Drill Bits - 6WUK6|48903 - Grainger Industrial Supply

With that said, would you recommend in my position I just talk to them and see about having a deck sent or just go ahead and fix it?

Just sent them a quick e-mail, hopefully it'll all work out. Like you, Anavidfan, I probably wouldn't use this tank all the time especially since I just got a Mutation Xv4 (Amazing), but this seems like the best tank for me and it would be nice to not have to take a break from dripping because I'm driving lol.

Just recieved mine today. I has heard they improved the second batch with better quality control ie machine oil , burrs and such . Mine is from this second or third batch and it has burrs in the air holes and wreeks of machine oil ..also the holes in the top fill are sharp on the bottom side . Performance to me isn't any better than the goblin ..can't say I'm impressed . Had this been the clone 13 dollar FT version I would understand but it isn't. Not saying it's bad I just don't think it lived up to the hype .

Its sad when things come in not being up to decent condition. I know that Ive had a few things come in, even pricier items with defects like burrs, oil etc.

It makes me wonder is it just me? No one else seems to be mentioning defects or substandard threads. Its a shame because if you are lucky you love it and if you arent then you tend to judge the type of item across the board.

Believe me, There are modders out there that claim to be the best of the best etc, and they have let their QC go after a while. Or if you are the one in a million to get one that slipped past the QC person, they treat you like a trouble maker.

But I do have to hand it to the Cthulhu people, they are at least doing their best to make it right, I hope :)

I got a quick reply from Cthulhu, but it was recommending me to use a different 9mm allen key, and saying that 3 customers had fixed theirs that way. I mentioned that the first thing I did was buy a precision screwdriver set and that none of the allen keys, smaller, bigger or the correct size would catch on the screw. Hopefully they'll come through for me.

Already got my other reply and they're coming through and sending me a new deck, no questions asked. Annoying issue what happened but the customer service was simple and quick. Took all of 4 hours since my first e-mail to now when they sent me the last asking for my address and phone number.

I'm really glad to see that any problems are being addressed right away and correctly. It says a lot about the company. Mine is perfect and I'm in love with it. I'm only slightly annoyed that they're giving away spare tanks and screws, but only if you write a review. I don't need those things but I'd like to have them as spares. I guess I could just write a review, but that is not my forte.

ok I'm on day 3 of vaping this tank and it has won me over. Great airflow, good to great flavor at the right power, and wicks flawlessly.

Now my question is, is it possible to wick this tank so that it's bone dry even after it sits a while? I get a little seepage through the airflow overnight or all day when I'm at work. Flawless if you vape it all day, but a little weepy if it sits a while. Nature of the beast with this kind of big airflow, or can it be wicked so that it doesn't lose a drop?
