Without trying to hurt anyone's anticipation..
1. I am only able to get a Boge standard carto to work on it (that's what it comes with). I only use cartos, and I really only use Boge LR. I have tried 3 and they won't connect. This could just be a defect in this unit, it's like they are a hair too short. I don't have any dual coils left to try. I have echo-e and use a 510 to cone adapter with them on the REO, and they won't connect either, probably because the connection has a beveled lip surrounding it.
2. It feels really cheap.
3. The feeding needle is skinny, so if you aren't using a thin juice (I generally use 60/40), you have to squeeze the bottle more and then the whole unit kind of pops open.
4. The fire button is in the wrong place. It should be where the disco lights are.
I don't mind the disco lights, I like the size of it. I like the outer material. I like the passthrough function. It doesn't bother me that they put a 10 ml bottle in it (just don't fill it up if that's too big).
It vapes as well as an eGo or Riva with a standard carto, but a person would be better off with an eGo passthrough battery and an echo-e carto and a bottle of juice.
I am sure I am just spoiled from using a REO. If I hadn't tried a bottom-feeder prior to this, I would be asking myself why I wanted one. That's the sad part, because the whole purpose of them is to change everything (for the better).
Hope I didn't upset anyone, I'm just a 40-something mom who used to smoke a lot and needs to stay not smoking.
I'm now going into my 60th hour of hard vaping with my new bottom feeder box mod from an old blue UltraFire batt 18650. I can't honestly say it's going strong anymore but, it's like the Energy Bunny...
Why am I pushin' it? Cuzz I'm waiting for a second batt and charger to show up in the mail and I don't want to hassle with a little ol' M401 if I don't have to.
This drained batt is still better then a fresh pen stick. Believe it!

OK Vape Apes, just received my Cowboy Kong and he's a beauty! I had seen Tom's video and was impressed, but when you have it up close- a video or a pic just does not do it justice. It is about twice the size of my other varivolts but it feels strangely very comfortable in my hand. The catch cup which I worried about being over-sized and mismatched with the body is just right. If you like wood, this is it and plenty of it! You can see more of the detail in it, in my case blood wood, the shade of the wood contrasts itself beautifully as you turn it around it slowly. As long as I examined it and looked for it i could not find any flaws in it. The lid fits perfectly and shuts tight and snug. The read out was placed ingeniously on top by Tom for a comfortable view while adjusting your volts at the bottom. On the inside Tom has placed the regulating unit on the bottom and everything looks nice and tidy, with so much extra space there are no crimped wires to worry about, everything is placed exactly in place with no worries. The feed bottle is easier to load up because of all that extra space inside also. A larger bottle also means much less pressure on the bottle itself to load up your atty. I had to be careful not to squeeze too hard and flood my atty. I do not have the 26500 batteries for which this box was specifically built for but I did manage to easily fit 2 IMR 16340 batts with attached magnets to fire up this baby. This is the best part of all-the vape! Using a Joye 510 atty, this is the hardest hitter of all I've experienced in my 18 months of vaping, set at only 4.25 volts with a 2.3 ohm resistance, this Monkey blasts you like nothing else. A wonderful fulfilling deep and rich vape that makes even weak juices come alive. I don't know if Tom used different wiring or if it's because of the vast space of wood inside that captures that woody taste better. This is one awesome unit! If you like your Monkey Boxxes, you're going to love your Kong! I give it a 6 out of 5 stars and as soon as I finish typing this I'm going to place my second order! Tom has hit a grand slam homer with the Kong, do not hesitate!

Reo grand Vs 3.7v monkey is the debate of the hour. Unfortunately it's a moot point because I can't drop $200 for a while. I'm very interested in feeder mods but meh. I may end up with a vapemate or just a couple MAP tanks.
That was smart, plus, if something happens to your battery, you still have something. I'm sure someone will figure out how to replace the battery in these, but still..
I wrapped mine up and am going to tell my husband tonight it's a late Father's Day present from just me LOL. He hasn't moved past his Riva with carts (at least he agreed to blue foam). He can keep it on his desk at work and tell people it's NRT and recommended for his health.
I sure would like some rebuttal on the Rev2 review -- but I don't want to go off topic, etc. as it is such an informative thread.

Yes, its inexpensive and plastic....so was the Rev1. And, it's about the same price as a single ego plus 5 carts & charger---basic starter with supplies with much bigger battery.
Other threads have discussed a handle for the problem of not all carto/atty's working on them on Rev2 version l. Yes, it is wacky that one has to "mod" a Boge to get Boge to work on it.
To me each new PV has some sort of learning curve. On this one it is most likely the feed system---one of the common fixes is to add a drop or two of distilled water in the bottle to thin it. Another is to practice the flow by testing how fast & how many drops come out before you insert the bottle & see how little it needs to be depressed. And, of course, you have to use gravity--that means tilt it a bit when you feed--or all the way upsidedown.
But I will say more!

WOW! Sounds like far too much hassle for me. Too many 'rules' to follow.
My handmade wooden box mod is far easier to vape with.

Have you tried a feeder mod yet? I decided on an OldGoat 3.7v feeder for $30 bucks. Worked out really well and affirmed how much I liked a feeder mod. Traded for the Grand that I have now and its amazing. Just a suggestion if you havent yet tried a feeder, OG's are a budget friendly way to give them a try!
No, but I probably will at the NE Ohio Vape thing at the end of july. I had a nice long conversation with PKzap and between the two of us we pretty much both decided that tank mods are the way to go for me. Vapemate's a little too tricky, and cumbersome to carry in public, A bottom feeder is something that I'm probably going to have to save up for, and MAP tanks are hard to get ahold of so after about 45 minutes of conversation I decided on the goodprophets SSR.
Putting that aside, I'm still going to stay subscribed to this thread because I love the stuff, love gadgets in general, and I like to know what's out there and what people think of it. I almost bought a glv3 mini but I couldn't spend the $200, (car issues) so I got a GLV supermini instead.
If I were to get a box mod it'd be something nice (fancy/elegant looking) like the monkey with a cool carving and zebrawood. I'm easily distracted by fancy and shiny things, so that's what I'd go with. The reo grand is also freaking sweet looking and anything with an 18650 is just plain awesome. 2900 mAh, woohoo!
Anyway, thank you for the suggestion but it'll be a while until I break down and buy one, but odds are I will buy one. Sorry to get off topic. I'll still be around this thread "ooh" and "aah"ing the box feeders.

Been vaping on the VV Army Tank for a few days now, pretty bad ... if you ask me. Finnaly found a small VV bottomfeeder, and it has turned out to be a joyous occasion indeed!
Voltage is about 4.5 on a 2.0 ohm atty. I jack with the voltage all day, back and forth. It gets hot when you try to run a 1.5 ohm atty on it at lower voltage, but with the 2.0 ohm and up, not feeling any heat coming through the unit. Batteries lasted though a full bottle of juice, and a bit into the next refill. That was using the flame jacket trustfires (actually too tight of a fit for this mod really), the AW IMR 14500s lasted almost a full bottle.
Greatest thing ever though was being able to vape my 1.5 ohm dual coils at 7 volts again !! GD I love that hit. All my other VV mods cut them off well under 4.5 volts, so was sticking the DCs on stacked tube mods. This one doesn't have circuit protection, so I get to enjoy the full burn. Have to be careful though, will cook an atty if I'm not careful, but worth it to be able to crank stuff up and not be hit with a damn 1.5 amp limiter.
