He lost me here:
"The data show that kids using e-cigarettes are going to be more likely to try combustible cigarettes later."

I think that he subscribes to the "gateway" theory of causation a logical fallacy but one used by zealots to achieve their end.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc (after this, therefore because of this). This is the fallacy of assuming that A caused B simply because A happened prior to B.

Add to that a massive confirmation bias (only consider those few facts that confirm your delusion and ignore all other facts) then you got the base coating of the complete picture. I'm sure if you look in detail the forefathers of modern science as well as democracy would go into nuclear meltdown in their graves.

I call it the supported scary statement, followed by the unsupported scary statement. It's an arguing tactic. If you have "fact" to support "scary statement" (not that I believe that "fact") you can then pretty much extrapolate any OTHER scary statement you want, because many folks are blinded by the first one.

It's a sneaky move but man, the FDA is one of the sneakiest groups around. I hated them before, I hate them even MORE now.

Also I have NO CLUE why and how they are mucking around with ECIGS, still. There are TONS of drugs in the pipleline that need more attention.
Gah.

Have a nice day? Everything is looking up? Nope, can't have that

It got everything from gateway, wet lungs to COPD. Seems very genuine and unscripted

Tommy was the worse representative from the vape community they could have found. What a trainwreck. If he was representing teen vapers, then its no wonder Gottlieb has a wedgie.

"I could take more aggressive steps. I could propose eliminating any application enforcement discretion to any currently marketed ENDS product, which would result in the removal of ALL such products from the marketplace. At this time, I am not proposing this route, as I don't want to foreclose opportunities for currently addicted adult smokers," he said.

"But make no mistake. If the policy changes that we have outlined don't reverse this epidemic, and if the manufacturers don't do their part to help advance this cause, I'll explore additional actions."
