Ok, so, just finished watching the ohmpage show with CASAA, NBS, and SFATA. A lot of confirmation of how dire things are, and some reassurance that there is actually a game plan and some hope.

Here's my recap, though I may have missed some stuff as I was cooking and feeding the tiny tyrant.

Right now, we need to buy time for the industry:
Support HR 2058
Support the Cole-Bishop Amendment
Support businesses that are supporting Advocacy and/or pursuing litigation.

There appears to be a plan to pursue legislation carving out different regulations for vapor products in the future. They didn't give any specifics, but at least they seem to recognize that the FSPTCA is not viable for this industry.

That was informative. If I may add to your list, Lessifer:

    ---Donations if you can
---Join CASAA and/or whichever pertinent to you advocacy group
---Submit a testimonial to CASAA, if you haven't done so. They are going to use those more in future

Tell your story! Long or short, but please do tell your story.

I will concede to this one regulation: That at the time of purchase, child-proof caps on juice be offered as an option.
    That sounds reasonable to me.

    Donations.....yes

Testimonial....waste of time (I am sure fda had those and filed them in a big trash can)
Not for the FDA, they will use them in PR work to get word to the public.

Hopefully Robino sees this or perhaps one of you knows....wouldn't it be helpful if CASAA had more volunteers? Could this be done from anywhere or do you need to live in a certain area? Seems like a lot of work with limited staff/resources.

Did you hear what Julie just said about the importance of testimonials?

Please, if you don't want to leave one, don't do it. But do not discourage others from doing what CASAA leadership is asking them to do.

Honestly, I don't think so. That wouldn't make much sense - you sell juice or you don't, reg-wise. Vendors are cutting that back because it RAPIDLY dropped in sales - more and more of their customers are using "subohm" type tanks and buying 6 or 3 mg. Not only more OF them, but they buy more JUICE... You might go through 3 or 4 mls a day of 24, while someone else goes through 16-20 mls a day of 6.

On the other hand, vendors might decide to only sell 0mg and 18mg, so customers could mix them to make whatever level they want.

Ty for posting this. I was able to catch most of it and get a contact out of it. Hopefully I can contribute some ideas or effort on marketing/pr. My efforts blind emailing werent fruitful thus far.

    You're very welcome. :)

BTW, the show IS available on YouTube now that it's over, so for anyone that missed all or part I'll post the link here, but break it since the Plumes used a word discouraged in most mixed company. ;) Just copy and paste into your browser, then remove the two spaces, or it might work as it stands without posting the name. lol

In my personal opinion, we concede too much "as a given." However, I won't be a part of whatever negotiations happen so... yeah.

That was my thinking, too. Most will probably offer 0 nic and just one nic strength (18 or 24) to simplify their application process. Same with PG/VG ratios. Ahlusion, which used to custom mix their eliquids, is already switching to their new pre-mixed line; it's 50/50, I believe, or "best" ratio of PG/VG.

Good possibility that @Robino1 would know more, but I'm guessing that CASAA would jump at the chance at more warm bodies. It's all volunteer work on top of whatever they might do full time, so I imagine they stay snowed under. I also know that their board members and staff (read: Alex) are scattered all over the U.S. so it's not centered anywhere in particular. Board and member meetings are carried out via video and/or audio chat.

This was also something I was going to mention to the forum at large. Most of the advocacy groups are for the industry. CASAA is, to my knowledge, the only group that represents the consumers, and it also happens to be all volunteer consumer controlled and supported. If you don't like the speed at which they're working, volunteer your time and resources to help.

Oh that's definitely a sound approach. I was just explaining why I think many juice companies have been eliminating 24mg juice from their lines - even before the regs came out...

Found this on Twitter just before the show started. It should be required reading for anyone wondering why we've been feeling like we're beating our heads against a brick wall; we're encroaching on well established, and paid for, territory. Keep in mind, this was originally published 5 or 6 years before vaping ever made it to the U.S.

I have just officially become a single-issue voter. Congratulations, FDA!

    And I'm a registered Democrat.

Not really single issue. Excessive regulation is a multi-headed monster.
