Another 10-20 years and both vaping and smoking will be down to an extreme minority in the USA.
No problem Lori. We are all feeling a bit stressed lately. I actually had my melt down over in the sign this petition thread. If we don't let it out we will explode.
That's better than what people think the Deeming regs will do to vaping.Yep both taxed at several hundred percent and limited availability. With strong restrictions on where you can and cannot do either.
Why the users of either will be an extreme minority.
I'd like to see a list of all the published federal regs that were overturned, supporting your thesis. Compared to a list of those that never were. Short of an injunction there is nothing stopping itI don't think I'm being optimistic (or pessimistic). I just know how Washington works and this thing is a long ways from being over. I'll be willing to bet most vapers have more to fear from their states before the feds.
Ohh I am convinced barring any suddent change in the regs due to lawsuit, etc that vaping as we know it will be dead within 5 years. That's better than what people think the Deeming regs will do to vaping.
I'd like a list of how many regs ever written that are irrelevant, ignored, insignificant, immaterial, extinct, outdated, dried on the vine or unenforced.I'd
I'd

Can I get an AMEN!!!I don't think I'm being optimistic (or pessimistic). I just know how Washington works and this thing is a long ways from being over. I'll be willing to bet most vapers have more to fear from their states before the feds.
Can we get a sticky when you do?? You've been working hard towards it.
Working on it![]()
Everything is open ended. Anything is subject to change.Ohh I am convinced barring any suddent change in the regs due to lawsuit, etc that vaping as we know it will be dead within 5 years.
There will be available cigalikes and such with prefilled cartridges and that is pretty much it.
The regs specifically state that more regs are coming if the FDA thinks them necessary. This is an open ended thing.
The very first sentence of the preliminary statement of the petition includes the usual "we recognize the need for regulation at the Federal level". Really.
Vapers are such wussies.
Good ole Illinois. So glad I moved away from there.Where I work, the local sales tax is 8.75%, right at 10% not 4 or 5 miles from there.
A carton of cigarettes is $71.50.
Yep. Notice any easing of restrictions or taxes on smoking over the last few decades?Everything is open ended. Anything is subject to change.
But that's the problem - I'm sure they think they're being entirely reasonable.I dont fault "reasonable" regulation.
"IMHO"
Regulations assuring the listed ingredients, and nic%, are accurate is a good thing. Not selling to minors, while arguable, is not unreasonable. Some sort of safety certification (akin to a UL listing) for battery mods is reasonable.
It doesnt need to go beyond this though.
Yes. You were smart to do so.Good ole Illinois. So glad I moved away from there.
Nope. But I haven't seen them deemed out of existence either.Yep. Notice any easing of restrictions or taxes on smoking over the last few decades?
...and we prob won't as long as there's tax money that can be collected.Nope. But I haven't seen them deemed out of existence either.
I haven't stocked up on anything. Gear, juice, DIY, nothing...and I don't plan to. IMO it is way too early to panic.
Born in Detroit in 1959. Moved to Illinois in 1960. Both my P's were born and raised in Illinois (Dad Chicago, Mom Elmhurst). They moved to MI for a couple years and that's when I was born (Detroit) and then they moved back to IL. As bad as IL is, they aren't as bad as Detroit. But they're getting there.Yes. You were smart to do so.
Were you from Il, or just here for a time?
