The people that actually think that applying will get them somewhere. At 300k+ per application..... funds a lot of leg workers.

Remember, they don't give the money back to the applicants if they fail.

I'm not sure I understand the sudden rush for many to take up DIY. As I understand it, our favorite liquids will be available for 2 more years assuming there are no laws or injunctions that extend this even longer. What am I missing here?

It takes time to build a stash. No one can afford to actually purchase everything they need in one shot. Plus, you can still vape the good stuff while trying to make something that is reasonably vapeable.

Please, and I mean this respectfully - can we give up on the notion of predicates? I'll go into it in detail when I have time, but there simply are none that will be helpful to the industry.

Put it this way - if you had a liquid on the market in 2006, you would have to prove that it had exactly the same constituents (including the flavoring compounds, likely at the molecular level) as the one you have on the market today.

This isn't a notion of "predicates" where you have to show substantial equivalence. It's a matter of grandfathered products. Basically 'exempt products' that need no applications. And I'm quite sure that Ruyan, for example, has the exact formula for their eliquids from that period.

Of course for others to duplicate it - yes, they'd have to have the formula and show substantial equivalence.

So what that tells me, he has had some in his freezer for 6 years now. It is still good. He will keep testing it each year..or however long he tests the product

Reminds me of the natives here in North Carolina. Rarely snows but when it does it shuts down the state for a week. There could be a .00001% chance it will snow in the 10 day forecast and they rush to the supermarkets and clean out the place.

Time frame is a guess. A semi educated guess but a guess never-the-less.

Depending on your age bracket.... who knows how much you need to prepare for.

Take my fav liquid I need to start buying reserves now and do so every other or every month to build up a stash that will last me a long time. That along WITH my normal order costs a bit of cash. I do it slowly over time, the extra cost is negligible.

I'm counting on that, actually.

The 2l I have coming, packaged carefully in the 50ml amber glass bottles I ordered at the same time, will be enough to supply the wife and I with 3mg DIY juice for 9 years, according to my stubby-pencil math.

That should be more than enough time for us to get down to 0mg, and leave us with a surplus to hand off to someone who is still fighting their good fight.

My guess is some vendors will simply decide to close up shop prior to that, but I would expect most to continue selling as long as they can get away with, so in that respect I agree with you. On the other hand, it makes sense to start preparing now if you haven't already given that it will take a large stockpile of nic to last for an appreciable time. At my current usage I'd guess 1 litre will last me close to 2 years, but that may be conservative so let's say 1.5 years instead. We truly don't know how long nic will last in the freezer. So I'm aiming for 10 years. If nic will indeed be hard to get, then I need to plan on weaning myself off by then. So I need to have 7 litres by the time nic is no longer available. That's a good chunk of change if I wait till the end to start buying it.
