Inhaling PG yes data on that. But not on flavorings or VG. As far a health impact studies for inhaling them. We've known for the longest time the effects of substances like PG/VG and their benefits. I'm certain that the trace chem's in typical vaping expose me to not much different risk (perhaps less) than breathing ambient air. I DIY to ensure that's so and vape straight VG as often as not.

Good luck all.![]()
And on juice.. there are NO studies showing the long term health impacts of inhaling flavorings, PG and VG.
Or even short term studies that I am aware of.
A few short term tests of what is in the vapor from a handful of juices, but that is it.
No studies on how this will impact ones health.
Not when used in manufactured juice since the health impacts of inhaling food flavorings are largely unknown. They sell FOOD flavoring, Food Flavoring will be unaffected.
Yep I corrected my oversight on the PG in a subsequent post. Not long time, but at least a short one. This study, published in 2011, I don't think is the one I read, but it's similar.
Non-clinical safety and pharmacokinetic evaluations of propylene glycol aerosol in Sprague-Dawley rats and Beagle dogs. - PubMed - NCBI
Aerosolized propylene glycol (PG) was generated as log-normally distributed particulate clouds in different concentrations using a novel capillary aerosol generator (CAG) and evaluated in a battery of non-clinical studies intended to assess its potential inhalation and systemic toxicity in 2 species before ICH-compliant "first-time-in-man" studies. Exposures were nose-only in rats, and via face mask with oropharyngeal tube in dogs.
Under the conditions of these studies, the NOEL for the rat was determined to be 20mg/kg/day for the 28-day study. In the Beagle dog, the NOEL was approximately 6.05mg/kg/day for the 28-day study. Overall, these studies allowed us to conclude that PG aerosol generated with the capillary aerosol generator could be administered safely in man, with an adequate margin of safety needed to conduct "first-time-in-man" human exposure studies.
Wont stop them from selling it though, they have no clue what the end use is, and their core business model is "food". The point being is that it will still be sold, even if the end user uses it illegally. Not when used in manufactured juice since the health impacts of inhaling food flavorings are largely unknown.
Just who do you think you're talking to? "Preaching to the choir" doesn't even work. Most people posting here have had been awake for quite a long time. I don't recall seeing you in the general media or legislation or regulation forums. Perhaps I missed some posts there but most here haven't missed a thread. We've been 'paying attention' for years now.
It will not be allowed to be sold by any vape oriented company. You will have to find new sources for your flavoring.Wont stop them from selling it though, they have no clue what the end use is, and their core business model is "food". Even today I buy my flavorings elsewhere. I have no fear that I will be able to obtain them. I make artisanal candies. It will not be allowed to be sold by any vape oriented company. You will have to find new sources for your flavoring.

I am not aware of VG being inhaled before vaping. Could be wrong though.
Some flavorings in some tobacco products. However that is smoked not vaped and I doubt if studies were done on the flavored cigs except for menthol.
Their way around the flavoring thing on cigs were that they called them little cigars...
Apparently cigarettes and cigars are regulated differently.
Smoked vanilla flavored little cigars for a while. They were cheap.

yep we have been enjoying the wide open "Wild West" days of vaping. That appears to be coming to an end.VG has similar mechanical germicidal properties as VG I understand. Until trace studies of typical technically correct and actual appropriate use show material and generalized risk (I haven't seen it) I consider myself reasonable safe in my situation. And I'm an at risk user Rob. Those who deviate from an appropriate intended use is another matter. It's why the burden has been on retailers in reality to educate themselves and insistent on such development among their clients. Had we a broad representation of educated vapers proficient in the tech we might not be so exposed at this time. Check your 510 pin was never enough IMO. Now necessity will dictate it. E-cigarettes were never plug-and-play but experimental.
However, government has proven itself so adept at advancing the worst aspects of safety in those things they regulate I'd give the odds to the average vaper of improving upon this, even in the absence of vendor support.
Good luck all.![]()
Little curious if this could be used for a pre 2007 acceptable device ?
Patent US3200819 - Smokeless non-tobacco cigarette
Yep I corrected my oversight on the PG in a subsequent post.
It is after all used in FDA approved inhalers.
My comment stands on the rest of the ingredients in ejuice though.
Except maybe nic since it is also available in inhaler form I think.
Wow, that was filed in 1963![]()
Saw this scrolling on the bottom of the screen watching the news this morning....."study shows that e-cigarettes poison 200+ children under 6 each month..." New, I'm sure that Careless Parents have their kids get into many things they shouldn't on a daily basis. This is probably just the beginning of hit pieces brought to you by BT and BP.
