There are just some people who refuse to open their minds about anything. Their heads are made of rock. They get it in their minds they hate smokers and just extend that to vapers as well. It's not the act, it's personal to them
Children are bombarded with anti-smoking/smoker propaganda from K-12. Along with all the environmental tripe (environmental tripe not conservation and protection) they believe that
stuff can permanently cause harm no mater what the circumstances. We observe this all the
time in our debates here. "It's my body don't vape where you can't smoke." The result of all
this is quite predictable. Some of theses kids actually get sick psycosematiccaly in the perceived
presence of a harmful substance. When seen or smelled sickness occurs. The interesting thing
is when the substance is not seen or smelled but in much greater concentrations no illness
occurs. ( of course people actually get sick and I know of no one that wouldn't make accommodations
in such cases)
Then there are those who's only way to control others is by their fake protestations.
They believe they have a fool proof power trip they can pull on another individual with societies
consent and backing in any social setting and fully expect the offender to contritely skulk away
to the nearest curb in abject embarrassment for committing such an egregious faux pas in
the presence of civilized company. Keep an eye on these types. Remove their power trip,
you remove the only way they have to control anything in a social setting. People whom
conduct themselves in public this way could care less about anyone's health. It's the last
thing on their minds. It's a head trip for them. It's amazing how different they act when their new BF/GF is a smoker.
I vape politely and discreetly every where in public and have not encountered one problem
in six months. It makes one wonder how those that can only be content with the
most visible forms of vaping can make it through an average day. I guess this is one
instance where it doesn't suck to be me.

Mike

Whether or Not the FDA has Legal Authority to Regulate Anything that is Not Made or Derived from Tobacco Plants will probably go to the SC.

So it will be Interesting (understatement of the Decade) to see who will Fill Scalia's (and Ginsberg's) seat.

Right. And a friendly reminder: the next president will appoint at least two--possibly four SC justices, who will be with us for decades.

As our friend @DPLongo22 is fond of saying, vote wisely.

If it does that would mean we can go on just as we are. Sometimes these actions take years and years before the SC even hears them and then for them to rule and write their summations, well, I could be a 100 by then........

Since no one else will say it I will. You need to vote Republican. In general as a party they are for smaller government. Trump has said time and time again that he will reign in the FDA, IRS, DOE, and EPA. A vote for Hillary is just a vote for 4 more years of Obama. Since Obama has taken office he has invoked over 20,000 new regulatory rules. Wake the hell up vapers. Time to cross party lines and give up those broken political beliefs.

At the risk of sounding a bit slow, who is VJ? What is ME?

Don't ask don't tell policy here. Forum Filter makes explaining difficult. VJ - EX member - Current owner of another Forum - VU

Oh Jeez, I hate to break it to you...
But your kitchen sink may indeed be a tobacco product...

Have you ever rinsed your hands in the kitchen sink after getting some juice on them?
Yeah? Well, if so then welcome to the land of tobacco products.

More Correctly, it is now a Tobacco Accessory - still

I know you are just kidding but also beating a dead horse isn't gonna make it get up and run.

:D

And what Some have asked is during Reconciliation of the House and Senate AG Appropriation Bill, could the GF Date (and just the GF Date) be removed from the House Bill leaving the Other provisions?

YES!
Unfortunately, Any portion or complete language under objection may be altered or removed completely for the Good of the Bill and Finalization for Approval in due a timely manor for Budgetary Regulation.
The Same members of the Sub committees and Committees originally drafting should be in attendance and participating in resolution.

It is always my hope that individuals might choose to read one of the rare journalistic newspapers daily, then draw their own conclusions. I prefer not trying to convince people who to vote for. Many, once they actually complete research, end up surprised where their own beliefs take them.

But, since you brought it up (IF you prefer freedom over a nanny, that is)...

Yeah... It could take a LONG Time.

But ya see, that would be a Bad Thing. Because the Current FDA Regulation, and possibly Many More, would be in place while the Legal Battle is waged.

So a Legal Challenge may be the Most Effective. But what we need NOW is to Stop the Bleeding. Senate Oversight, CB Amendment and HR2058 is what EVERYONE should be Supporting TODAY.

It should be clear on the vaping issue that one party would ban it if they had their way.

I have my own political beliefs and ideology and for those who know me it probably isn't hard to figure out. But I will refrain from entering into non-vaping issues unlike some I have seen on this thread. We all have our opinions and there is no way we can all agree. So best those opinions be left unsaid so as not to lose focus on what brings this group together...vaping. That said, on the vaping issue alone, I see no way to avoid saying that when it comes to THIS issue, the Democrats are NOT our friends. This issue is too important not to say what should be obvious.

True but most people are just flying through this process blind. People need to know where their loyalties should reside. The main stream media is just a schill for the DNC. Unfortunately, most people just can't see this.

Your on the right track and that is commendable. The MSM is backed by a small group of elites and who ever will carry out what they want will get the backing. The lines between republican and democrat have blurred so much that thinking that way detracts from the issues that effect both parties.

The divide and rule has worked well for a long time. I am am or would be a democrat and assume you are republican. Where we agree is the MSM is corrupt to the core. They do well to make us fight along party lines but we have an infinity more in common than with them.

Got to get money out of politics to get democracy back. I think there is a something you can sign up to along the lines of wolf/pac...all about getting money out of politics

I could be wrong but since the court ruling was before the deeming I doubt it would help. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if another case is filed in New York at some point which does rule they can be used interchangeably in light of the deeming. :(
It's just a NY state court ruling is on the definition of "smoking." As the deeming regulation doesn't define that term, the deeming regulation will have no effect on NY state laws using the term "smoking."

One of the greater tragedies of our time is that the original design, "us" (We, the people) versus "them" (those in power), with the media setup as OUR watchdog, has been perverted to an almost inconceivable degree. The media are guilty for their part, but WE are more guilty, for failing to understand that "they" are consciously pitting us against each other.

And with that, I take my (temporary) leave.

Funny you mention that. I was vaping at my neighbor's kitchen table and my neighbor's daughter (44 years old) who was visiting from out of town starting acting childish waving her hands around and fake coughing and wincing her eyes like I was killing her with my "smoke" before the vape had even drifted beyond two feet. Her sister was there and told her it was vape, not smoke. She insisted it was killing her. Her sister went off on her. Told her it was the same as the fog machines she sits in front of at concerts. There are just some people who refuse to open their minds about anything. Their heads are made of rock. They get it in their minds they hate smokers and just extend that to vapers as well. It's not the act, it's personal to them. They hate smokers and they hate us. If "smoke" comes out it is bad. Period. End of story. Like I say, their heads are made of rock.

I was thinking that the FDA would lose and then appeal. (Not sure they can even do this tho) Not the other way around. If FDA is then ordered to 'set aside' the deeming regs, I have no doubt they would appeal this ruling.
And yes of course, continue supporting the CB Amendment and HR2058.

And sadly, no/low information people vote. I would fight for everyone's right to vote but also recognize there are a whole lot of people who shouldn't vote because they are just so utterly uninformed/mis-informed.

I am in no way saying that the Republicans are the end all and be all for vapers. I am saying that you have a much better chance of less control with the Republicans than you do with the Democrats. As plain as that is to see for most semi intelligent people sadly most Vapers just don't get it.

The media are guilty for their part, but WE are more guilty...
Yeah, I'm going to argue that the media is more guilty.

Because the collective WE put their trust in the media and have been betrayed.
And the collective WE doesn't even know it.

The death of investigative reporting was the death of an informed populace.
Propaganda is what has taken it's place.

Much like a communist country.

Blaming WE means we have to assume that WE have access to the truth.
And generally speaking, the collective WE really doesn't.

The truth, these days, only exists in alternative media outlets.
