This one sentence really scares me, whats next? My gut tells me bulk nicotine unless you have a "reseller" license.

"We expect that asserting our authority over these tobacco products will enable us to propose further regulatory action in the future as appropriate"

They're covering all the bases for future technology as well. In addition, by leaving things open ended they way they did, they can go back and see what loopholes they left open and kill that aspect of the business as well.

Why do "resellers" need bulk nic? If such restrictions come to pass, I'd expect the FDA to limit bulk nic sales to businesses who have registered as a tobacco product manufacturer with the FDA. Every business that mixes juice or builds coils is supposed to register as a manufacturer. It's going to be interesting to see how many actually do...

Why do "resellers" need bulk nic?

Lot of sites sell nicotine base along with DIY supplies. This is especially handy for folks like me who live in a country that's likely to seize any nicotine shipment at the border.

Lookie here :)

Politics down under. Guy's just raising the ante for BT's substantial contribution to his retirement fund.

Guess he wasn't happy with the first offer :D

lol - because they have "state of the art" CARTOMIZER-filling machines!

Huh. They can fill all the cartos they want as fast as they want, not planning on buying 'em.

Sure, cigalikes will sell too, but where the is the spirit of free enterprise ?
If your stuff's supposed to be that good, why tilt the playing field ?
Scared?

DIY? In the FDA's mind, that's code for un-tested, un-regulated juice being made by someone who isn't a registered tobacco products manufacturer. We all know that a liter of 100 mg nic makes many liters of finished juice. So again, why would anyone need that (in the FDA's mind) unless they're engaged in manufacturing, in which case they're supposed to be registered.

~Not only that, but what if a flock of children migrate to retired's country estate then break in and defeat whatever security he has on his diy juice and somehow manage to slather themselves in it? Think of the children. Even if it's just one. Think of that one. ~

And this is why we have such a hard time making ourselves heard to those who can make a positive change. The signal to noise ratio is so out of whack, most are tuning us out.

Or, you know, they don't want to hear us. As demonstrated time and again. For that matter, they take what we have had to say to them, twist it to their own agenda and then spew it back out, also time and again. That's not a signal to noise problem, that's that they've completely unplugged the antenna and burned the building that housed it.

That's what homeowners insurance is for when you get sued because you had something toxic in your home and should have though some poor, misguided child might break in and down the bottle of nic, right after that bottle of 30 year old Scotch you were saving for a special occasion.

I store my 100mg in the scotch bottles. As it oxidizes, it starts to look more and more appropriate.

Perhaps here on a social forum, but the noise is part of what people participate in forums for. The ratio is pretty much spot on in terms of my direct communications with our law makers and in the groups doing ground level advocacy and lobbying.

So with all of these law suites in progress, is there any way to know when they will actually be heard by/ argued/ruled upon?
I figure that's why we come to this forum/thread other than to twiddle our thumbs while we wait for legislative/judicial review. :D I would hope that people are watching dockets, social media, news, etc. Oliver (formerly SmokeyJoe) might even put up a banner.

I am impressed by the lawsuit/petition. This is comprehensive and well thought out, I think. Here is the entire document if you want some 'light' reading, :w00t: 37 pages and specifically asking for an injunction. I hope this one moves fast through the courts.
