So with all of these law suites in progress, is there any way to know when they will actually be heard by/ argued/ruled upon?

The CASAA site would be the best bet, as court time is slow time. This looks like a five to ten year case, hence the request for an injunction.

Looks like this latest suit has some power behind it, multiple plaintiffs and if they can get a temporary injunction while waiting for the court process, that would be awesome.

While CASAA is not part of the lawsuit, they are supportive.

The only way we're going to get a reprieve this year is an injunction. I'm not sure this is a 5-10 year case but it certainly would last longer than the various implementation dates in the final rule.

Best case scenario is a temporary injunction + Cole-Bishop and/or HR2058 getting inked and then favorable court decisions down the line. Things still won't be the same as they are now and States are going to be in pile on mode but we have to support/hope/pray that any countermeasure offers some sort of relief.

The FDA deeming forced me to drink it all.
I thought owning scotch in KY was blasphemy.

Also, yeah, while debating with everyone here is fun, I come here for the updates, but I stay for the LOLs.

I am impressed by the lawsuit/petition. This is comprehensive and well thought out, I think. Here is the entire document if you want some 'light' reading, :w00t: 37 pages and specifically asking for an injunction. I hope this one moves fast through the courts.

Nice law firm too. Lots of regulatory work including tobacco. I was a little surprised to not see Zeller named as a defendant as well. It is his department.

How would I have one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer if I didn't have any scotch?! Besides, who do you you think is responsible for bringing the distilling process to these parts? :p

Why would Mr. Zeller be named as a Defendant?

Doesn't he work under the Direct Control of Califf?

The very first sentence of the preliminary statement of the petition includes the usual "we recognize the need for regulation at the Federal level". Really.
    Vapers are such wussies.

In a perfect world, we'd be able to do with our bodies as we wish. Unfortunately, we are in the position of asking one branch of the federal government to save us from another. We have to use "their" language to a certain extent.

    Couldn't agree more.
They're giving concessions before they're even asked for any.
    That's a terrible negotiating tactic.

    I dont fault "reasonable" regulation.

    "IMHO"

Regulations assuring the listed ingredients, and nic%, are accurate is a good thing. Not selling to minors, while arguable, is not unreasonable. Some sort of safety certification (akin to a UL listing) for battery mods is reasonable.

It doesnt need to go beyond this though.

My livelihood doesn't depend on this, so I won't judge the industry for how they choose to fight this fight. I will say that I am disheartened that we, as a whole, seem all too ready to concede quit a lot in the hopes of gaining some scraps.

Not to be argumentative, at all, because I agree completely, we deserve more than a few scraps tossed our direction..
But does anyone honestly think that we'll gain more than that? :(
I'm just really disheartened by all of this, and truthfully, losing hope with each day that passes.

I'm stocked up, so I'll be good, for a very long time, but I truly fear for those who aren't taking all this seriously.
