Apparently the head of Trumps transition team for Health and Human Services is Andrew P. Bremberg. Perhaps the most influential person in deciding who will head DHHS.

HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

Andrew Bremberg is a policy adviser and a member of the counsel on nominations for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. A former policy director for the Republican presidential campaign of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, Bremberg has also served as a chief of staff at the Office of Public Health and Science, Department of Health and Human Services, according to his LinkedIn profile.

If the president elect focuses on the big picture and has the Washington savvy VP handle the legislative details, much like George W. Bush did with Dick Cheney, then Mike Pence is in the drivers seat regarding vaping regulation. I don't expect them to do anything to the deeming regs at all.
Unless a court orders a reworking of the regs (or dissolves them completely) none of these people will lift a finger. Nobody cares about vaping or vapers.

You're right. It's on no one's radar but ours. The best we can hope for at this point is Cole/Bishop.

14 Obama regs Trump could undo

......
14. Expanded tobacco rules

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) began regulating tobacco in 2009, but the agency stirred controversy last August when it expanded those rules to include electronic cigarettes, cigars, and hookah.

These tobacco products now face a lengthy approval process that could stunt the industry’s growth, critics say.

At issue is the lack of science surrounding e-cigarettes. Industry officials say they help smokers of traditional cigarettes to quit. But health advocates fear they will create a new generation of smokers. Business groups are challenging the rules in court. Congress may be able to repeal the rule through the Congressional Review Act.

I do wish Michael Moore would do a movie on this. Imagine, FDA lying to justify keeping people smoking tobacco instead of vaping which is inhaling steam of glorified Jello with a kick

I do like MichaelMoore and I don't agree with one or two of his movies. But he does make some darn good points his movies. He would have a field day ripping the FDA to shreds.

You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to write a letter to this Trump cat. See if he'll put his money where his mouth is on this one.

Altria Suffered a Big Defeat on Election Day -- The Motley Fool

Interesting. More money will certainly make more people look for a cheaper alternative, whether restricted or not. I am so glad they will be sending people our way. The cheap way.

Face it. The Gov is never going to unrestrict vaping because there is NO money to be made. And seriously, how do you tax glycerin, pg, flavoring? It's cheap!!!!! Nicotine-they can regulate but that has it's own problems.

Remember, that Judge has already referred to us as a "bunch of yahoos" who want non nicotine liquid not labeled tobacco. She's biased from the start.

That CA proposition also seriously raises taxes on ecig stuff too, so it's not exactly a win. Making both more expensive won't necessarily drive smokers to ecigs. If they applied that to cigarettes and NOT ecigs, it would have had the effect of driving folks from cigarettes to ecig/vaping more likely

Hi everyone [emoji4] I don't post on this thread but I do lurk. One of the things that I found hopeful is hearing Trump throughout his campaign, talk about squashing out some of the crippling, job destroying regulations. He has also mentioned that the FDA is going to be one of his targets. So, I think that our chances are at least better than they were.

Follow up on my last post. Just saw the list of the 14 regulations that are in Trump's crosshairs and the Expanded Tobacco rule is on that list. It mentioned the outrageous rules on ecigs. That is good news indeed. So keep up the hope and keep fighting everyone. [emoji4]

Have you got a link to that? Great news to read.

Edit: Tried a Google search, only interesting thing I found was that Pence statement on tobacco was "smoking doesn't kill. Government regulation kills."

Top post on this page - Deeming Regulations have been released!!!!

Yep, same one I posted.

Ah, read it. Sounds promising, but that's a list of items either stated to be a Trump issue, or items speculated that might be a Trump issue. I can't find anything that directly shows #14 as an actual Trump position. Note they talk about congress overturning the regs, which is pretty much where we're somewhere at right now with Cole Bishop still pending. I'm sure Trump will sign the appropriations bill it's attached to (unless signed before the end of the year). Of course, it would be even better if congress came back and an even bigger bite out of those deeming regs than the Cole Bishop amendment already would.

I was under the impression that this had to be done before the rule went into effect...
Congressional Review Act - Wikipedia

Here is a Perspective article about the Congressional Review Act...

The Congressional Review Act, rarely used and (almost always) unsuccessful | TheHill

"... Any regulation issued in the last few months of 2016 will risk the fate of the ergonomics rule if the Republicans maintain control of Congress and win the presidency in the 2016 elections. Since the election is not until November, the Obama administration will likely wish to make sure its highest priority regulations are issued with sufficient time to allow the 60 session-day clock to expire before Jan. 21, 2017. As long as they do that, President Obama can use his veto pen as he did this month to protect his top regulatory priorities, and congressional resolutions of disapproval will be full of symbolism but have no impact."
