While you guys are building homes and HAMMERING nails, you might want to ask formerly acting AG Sally Yates for advice. She just got fired by Trumpster. She ordered the AG attorneys not to defend the Trump Exec Order for refugees. Thus Exec Orders appear to have large amounts of "teeth". Perhaps a bit of a stretch in the eyes of some but interesting texture and background for our own regulatory issues with the Desk Killers at the FDA!

:)

Ehh... Sally was a Short-Timer.

And was just keeping the Seat Warm for someone else.

If that E.O. had anything to do with vaping, I'd be happy to discuss it.

Firing seems to be the response of choice for those who disagree. In some cases they're just kept out of the meeting.

You don't need all 3 to Rescind a Regulation. Just 1 of the possible 3 ways to go about it.

Here is a Link I posted a Long Time ago in one of these Deeming threads that talks about Repealing a Regulation.

What new presidents can (and cannot) do about regulation
I meant either the 1 new regulation, or one of the 2 regulations being cut. I assume someone has to review all three. So if the new 1 doesn't pass muster, do the old two still get cut? What if only 1 of the two can actually be cut, do they enact only half of the new 1?

I have No Clue.

LOL

I think this Whole 2 for 1 Scheme is kinda Fruit Loops.

It's Easier to pull those Nails when the Threat of Vetoing the use of a Hammer is Removed.

"Congress voted to strike down four regulations using the Congressional Review Act in its last session, but then-President Obama vetoed each of those measures."

Week ahead: GOP lines up Obama regs for repeal

Tom Price, nominee for Secretary of HHS, made it through committee and will be headed for a full senate vote for final confirmation. The Democrats boycotted the vote two days in a row preventing a vote to take place (have to have at least one Democrat present). Committee Chairman, Orin Hatch, had enough of their behavior and suspended the rules and put Price through on a 14 - 0 vote while the Democrats sat on the sidelines. Look for Price to be confirmed in the full senate in the next day or so.

I dislike stall tactics, but I also dislike circumventing checks and balances.
It all seems so childish.

Well, when the other side doesn't even show up to do their "check" it doesn't leave a lot of options.

Personally, after these antics I wish they'd all stay home. :)

That's the reason I don't usually follow the Federal Government to much.
I do follow the Virginia government though because it's easier and I have connections there.
I have gotten to know some pretty good people on the state level here.
The Feds are like watching a kindergarten class mostly.

Tom Price's nomination has advanced to a full senate vote for final confirmation. Not exactly sure when that vote will take place. Depends on how long his opposition wants to carry on with their temper tantrum. But I suspect the vote will take place tomorrow and Price can be sworn in and take his office as secretary of DHHS. He'll be buried with Obamacare stuff so not sure how quickly we get to the Deeming regs.
