Just Curious, by why do you say this?

I would think being around Pence for some amount of time, the Topic of e-Cigarettes/e-liquids would have come up. Especially when the name David Hamilton is mentioned.
Note I said "probably" implying I have no factual information. I base my opinion solely on my assessment of what I think is important to Trump and my guess is he hasn't a clue what vaping is. He knows it exists I'm sure but beyond that I am highly doubting he knows the health benefits as we do. He is thinking about other things and guessing Deeming regs is not on his radar. Again, just my opinion. It's also my opinion that if the DHHS recommends altering the Deeming regs Trump will go along with them deferring to the judgement of his DHHS secretary. Let's be honest here. Deeming regulations gets nearly zero coverage on main stream news so it is probably safe to say it isn't important to Trump.

It's just Hard to say what someone like Trump Knows/Doesn't Know. Especially when viewed thru the Lens of the Mainstream Media.

I think that Many would like to see Any Major Regulation that the Last administration enacted being Repealed/Replaced/Amended. And they would see it as a Political/PR victory.

JMO. But I don't think we will hear anything Substantive about Deeming or e-Cigarettes until a New FDA Commissionaire and head of CTP is named.

And it looks like Trump has got a Full Plate right now putting out Fires.

So am I Interpreting this correctly?

This would move the Predicate Date to 21 Months after the Deeming Rule Set came into effect?

12 ‘‘(2) DEEMED TOBACCO PRODUCTS.—For each

13 tobacco product deemed subject to the requirements

14 of this chapter pursuant to paragraph (1), each ref15

erence in sections 905(j) and 910(a)—

16 ‘‘(A) to ‘February 15, 2007’, shall be con

17 sidered to be a reference to ‘the effective date

18 of the regulation under which a tobacco product

19 is deemed subject to the requirements of this

20 chapter pursuant to section 901(b)’; and

21 ‘‘(B) to ‘21 months after the date of enact

23 Tobacco Control Act’, shall be considered to be

The problem is they are not tobacco! Just because they want them to be tobacco does not make them tobacco. In the future they can deem leather shoes being as lumber products because the box is made of cardboard. The only thing that they are using to deem them tobacco is nicotine. I do not vape nicotine any longer, for over 2 years now. So I am going to be called a tobacco user because I vape without anything related to tobacco because some agency deemed it so. Will I deem they can kiss my ...

The FDA is going to regulate vaping, that's final. If this bill allows me to still buy tanks, coils and e-liguids I could care less what they consider it. At least this bill will allow us to vape still, and keep B&M shops alive. I want to buy a Kabuki but I won't until I know I can buy coils after 2018.

I agree with Painter even though I do vape with nicotine. The big thing about being a "tobacco product" is the accompanying insurance hikes. While I don't think they are fair even for nicotine users, I don't think any sensible person can say that hiking insurance rates based on tobacco use is fair when the insured isn't ingesting anything even remotely related to tobacco.

Even if the deeming regs were completely tossed out, what guarantee do you have that Aspire will still be making authentic Nauti coils after 2018? Companies do change product lineups due to market forces other than just regulation.

Yes, Nauti coils are very popular and it's exceedingly unlikely Aspire would drop them (unless Aspire went bust) but it does highlight the issue that buying any expensive tank which relies on factory coils cannot be guaranteed to have a risk free future.
