OK, I suppose I have a different perspective than you do. I bought my first kit on-line in December of 2013. I had not intended to quit smoking; I only wanted to see if I could use it to cut back some. Well cut back I did; right down to zero in less than a week. In fact, I never finished the pack I'd opened the morning my first kit arrived. Two weeks after my last cigarette, I ordered my first liter of nic base. I didn't have a clue about DIY at that point, but I wanted to be certain that nobody would ever be able take this miracle-cure for smoking away from me.
Yeah, I think we all kind of know what you meant. We're all just at different places, proceeding at different paces.

After 2 years, I'm slowed down, and out of the "searching for the next best thing" phase. I'm really happy with what I have now, but might try something if it looks really interesting, and has a lot of positive buzz here. I loved the nautilus 2, but knew there could be better. Then the KM3 was way beyond what I was getting from the N2, but I still thought there could be something better. Doggystyle was great for a long time, and it wouldn't have bothered me at all if I stuck with that, but won a contest, and True MTL is just awesome.

So I'm done searching, per se, but doesn't mean I won't try something else . I'm just glad I got to the doggy stage, where I knew I could be happy if it never went further. And now I'm even happier.

I couldn't remember how long it took after I quit smoking before I got into DIY and other stuff so I went through my vaping diary and dug out interesting milestones.

- Five years of cigalikes. One year of Egos. Various degrees of cutting down on the cigs.

9/2/14
- Discovered ECF

9/18/14
- Got a Sigelei 20 mod and a PT2.

9/22/14
- Smoked my last cigarette.

9/25/14
- Joined ECF.

2 months after quitting
- Started researching DIY juice and thinking about stockpiling nic and hardware.

2 ½ months after quitting
- Rebuilt my first PT coil.

3 months after quitting
- Got my first Lemo RTA.

4 months after quitting
- Got my first bottle of nic, mixing gear, mini freezer.

5 months after quitting
- Got my first Provari 2.5.

10 months after quitting
- Got my first KFL.

After that nothing much happened apart from getting lots more of the above, and a few other mods.

Maybe it has All just been said? And people are OK with just sitting back and Watching it Happen?

I can Remember a time, not too long ago, that a Thread like this...

McConnell Wants US Tobacco & E-cig Age 21

... would have Set the ECF on Fire.

If you want or even think you might want it, then order it now while the stock is there. I suppose the day will come when the FDA finds a way to cut off ecig supplies, electronics, and hardware from China. Hoping I'm wrong ...

Like Frank says on American Pickers, the time to buy it is when you see it (for the right price).

That's basically my story. The end of the first week I vaped I realized that I was still on the same pack of cigarettes I had opened right before my eGo came in the mail. I kept smoking half a dozen a day until months later when I decided not to buy another pack. Once I finished the last pack I was done. No cravings as long as the vape was there. That was in early 2011.

In regards to the "quitting" stories: today marks exactly 6 years since my first vape, and my very last cig.

Thanks all!
It's an amazing testament to the power of vaping. The same day I started vaping was the end of the cigs. AND, that was after 46 years of smoking, mostly unfiltered too.

I feel better than I ever have.
(Just wish the rest of my aches & pains could say the same:facepalm:)

Same here. In fact, I had no intention to quit smoking, or even to try again.. I was in the smoke shop to buy another pack, and I'm glad the line was long and I was impatient so decided to look at the 'electronic cigarette' stuff they had on display.. Nearly 5 years later, here I am!

Who remembers Trog's Screwdriver? Man, things sure have changed since those days in the vaping world. :)

I remember it well. In January of 2010, I won a contest here on ECF. There were two winners and the other person wanted the screwdriver mod and I thought, yuck...that is ugly so I took the Kr8 lol.

Are there any pictures of that around? Curious now.
