"Don't drip and drive" from years gone by - words to live by.
That brings back some memories. I think everyone did back then.

I was "only" a pack a day smoker, maybe 1 1/2 per day at most. Not really what was considered a "heavy smoker". But I direct inhaled my cigarettes. I could inhale a cig in under 3 minutes when other smokers took 7 minutes or more.Amount of nic needed for satisfaction (relief of cravings) is a strange one indeed. I always raise an eye brow when folks are asking for advice and are immediately asked how much they smoked.
Here's why. I was a heavy smoker. Thirty fags a day when smoking tailor made's and 50g rolling tobacco lasted me three days, yet 18mg nic was plenty when I started vaping and was soon reduced to 12mg. Nic patches recommend 21mg patches to start, based on my smoking habits but they blew my brains out, as did 14 mg patches. I could only use 7mg patches and they were enough, although there was a step down for a few days.
From that I conclude the amount of nic needed to quit isn't so simple to establish, based on a smokers cigarette consumption.
It takes what it takes to keep the nico-demon at bay. I inhaled big fat cigars, 12mgl would not have got me through quitting.I was "only" a pack a day smoker, maybe 1 1/2 per day. ... For some reason Indiana pols always had a big grudge against vaping.
Agreed. After all, how boring is it if it's just healthy? Kind of like diet food.

When I first began vaping I started with 32mg nic. I had coughing fits trying to vape that MTL (only option in gear available at that time was MTL cartomizers). Was advised to drop the nic to 18mg and the coughing fits immediately improved.
It's pretty clear to me, after catching up on what the CDC/FDA are saying about the recent spate of severe lung complaints, that everyone on this board expired long ago and is posting from beyond the veil.
Glad I could help.This explains a lot.
Well, in my case, I mean.![]()
