Isn’t Glantz also at UCSF?

Some of the criticism is typical for those with fixed beliefs, interesting data but I don't believe it.

One that is true is that if someone is addicted to nicotine and e cigs are cut off because of loss of availability (flavors) or prices are out of reach (taxes), more may pick up cigarettes. Yet no one suggests let’s not cut off e cigs or tax them so no one can afford them.

It's all relative. We all hasten the end of life in some way. Last night, my wife and I were eating supper in a local restaurant a couple of tables away from us there were what looked like two twin brothers, who weighed something in the range of 400 or more pounds each. When they got into their pickup truck and left they were nearly a half ton load in themselves.

There are worse things than vaping.
And I know we could find something to be offended by from each and every human being on the planet.

UK & much further East.
There is a reason for that.
The U.K. Seems to recognize the painfully obvious.
Vaping and lung disease in the US: PHE’s advice - Public health matters

We do indeed, so far. But I am concerned about the very slowly increasing trickle of media stories about "killer vapes" that are published in UK.

We do have killer Brexit though, now that's really nasty. Gov may decide to DIY a UK replacement for the fairly generous and slack EU vape TPD regulations, going by past experience that will be a catastrophe.

Zero is traditionally a hard number to reach in anything. Near zero is often much more doable.

    (vp/pg + aroma flavour only) = gives you a 0 nic e-juice.
Not a close to 0 but actual 0 nic e-juice.

Also zero is quite reachable amount in anything, it's a bit harder to reach an infinity.
As we know only Chuck Norris counted to infinity. Twice. I also tried but it's hard, still counting

Listings for "ready to vape" ejuice (even 0 nic) are pretty much gone from eBay/Amazon.

DIY ingredients are still abundant, flavorings, VG, and PG, are all readily available. But even those now "appear" to be marketed towards alternative end uses, very few vape specific listings remain.

It’s not. There is no such thing as a perfect vacuum for example. There’s always a stray hydrogen atom floating around. If the bottle you made that 0noc juice in ever had nic juice in it it wouldn’t be totally 0 nic juice, even if you washed it several times. Waaaay closer to 0 nic than 1% nic Or even .001% nic. The thing about 0 is it’s an infinite number too.

It’s all about unit size and measurement. A term called “granularity” sometimes. It could be argued that eBay never sold any vape gear if the granularity setting is set high enough. Which it was iirc.

It’s possible to reach a zero population of something, because to have a population there needs to be a minimum unit of 1. A stray skin flake isn’t a population. There are 0 dinosaurs and haven’t been any for a real long time, but we found bones. So zero dinosaurs? Depends on how you define it.

are there zero complete vape kits on eBay that are called vape kits? It’s very possible. I’m not going to bother to look, but that’s a whole lot easier to do than say examining every product sold on eBay called something other than vape gear that has a part in it when combined with other parts called other things that might be assembled into a vape though. It would be a lot of trouble and work and require specific knowledge to do such a thing.

eBay and Amazon reduced their granularity a lot.

So zero if the granularity is someone who’s just looking around and doesnt have the time and knowledge to assemble something from parts. Locks out the casual teens pretty thoroughly.

*looks at creative marker* If that was a creative thought I’d have a Nobel prize. That’s basic science theory and how numbers work. Not common knowledge perhaps. It used to be.

Just because the concept is not original or new, doesn't make it not creative. I marked it creative because of the way you explained your viewpoint. Funny how many interpretations those ten buttons can have :p

you sound like a homeopathic "doctor" prescribing sugar balls with a C100 active ingredients in them + the water memory. $50 per bottle.

No he doesn't, it's just that the two of you are talking about different things.

He's saying that once something is "out there", it's hard to get it completely removed to zero.

Your example started off with having zero to begin with (the zero nic juice example).

These are really two different concepts. One (yours) is not-including-from-the-start, the other is removal/elimination of something that's there.

correct I think. She said true zero but I think meant effective zero

also agreed. I additionally said, or meant to say that there is almost always “something out there” which sounds fruity and involved with UFO theory. I just want to point out that It’s not really in this case.

Yes and no. Starts are hard to pinpoint. The concept being described is referred to as “contamination”

An explanation of why I may have hit harder than may have been appropriate:
there is true zero and effective zero. They are not the same. I see a great deal of very damaging lying in this day and age done by confusing the two. Claiming an effective zero is a true zero and treating it as if it actually is one. If you do this enough times it is often possible with enough machination to turn an effective zero into an effective majority.

    The example is juice bottles.
To do that the start needs to be examined. Suppose instead of just washing out an old bottle a new bottle is ordered from China, arrives in the bag which has been closed since it left the factory with a cap screwed on it at the factory.
The parts of bottle and bottle caps are made by molding liquified plastic pellets. The standard bottle is only one part. The cap is several. Frequently made of different kinds of plastics so different pellets made in different places. Several things made by factories in China. A lot of factory workers in China smoke. They used to and may still do it on the factory floor. So you’ve got several different places where an infinitesimal amount of nicotine may have entered the system before the bottle was even closed and put into the bag.

Is it effective zero? Yes. A useful level of zero. It might even be true zero. There is an unknown but likely small probability that there is even a single molecule of nicotine in that bottle before it is sealed. Numbers this small don’t normally matter for the purpose of living our lives. They sometimes do though. Usually it involves bacteria which are really small but replicate. Even one can become many. This is why the term “contamination” is associated with medical and hygiene stuff. If something doesn’t replicate though it’s usually a non-problem. Effective zero remains effective zero. Useful zero.
