The donations CASAA receives (which isn't very much - they get less than $1,500 a month in subscription donations) pays for their infrastructure. Things like the web site, non-profit fees for every state and the comprehensive (and expensive) program CASAA uses to create and get out Calls to Action to over 255,000 members. It also barely pays for CASAA's only full time employee (our CEO, Alex Clark, who is underpaid IMO) and 2 part-time employees (our CFO, Kim Nye and myself, the national Member Coordinator - and I only became "staff" in 2015, after 6 years of free volunteer work.) The board of directors is completely unpaid and some directors even donate to CASAA out-of-pocket on a monthly basis. I also donate my after hours and weekend work unpaid.
Membership in and help from CASAA is completely free - donations are voluntary and they don't spam members asking them to donate.
I understand that people are scared and angry at what's happening right now - I am, too - but attacking or trying to get people to stop supporting people who have been working very hard to organize vapers and get out the truth about
vaping for the past 10 years isn't helping anything.
