From a constitutional perspective, the only means at our disposal is Article V.

For the record, I am (and have been for quite some time) fully supportive of the idea. Still a ways to go though (two-thirds of the required number of states still unsigned).

That is a viable solution but that method can cut two ways. It makes me nervous. I am unsure that we would come out with any better document than the one we have. I look at all of the things that could never happen here and they have happened here with little more than grumbling from some and cheering from others. Then our populace proceeds on to getting the newest iPhone, keeping up with the Kardashins (or how ever you spell the name) or musing about the next Bachelorette.

I would disagree, given what's before us now, and counting on ratification requirements to keep out anything crazy. He asked about what we could do, and that's pretty much it. The powerful have become a runaway train, and a very rich one at that. WAY too many millionaires achieved solely by being elected (IMO).

But like vaping, I only consider these opinions my own, and not necessarily "right". For one thing, I firmly believe it's the only way we'll ever see term limits implemented, and that's something I think we're sorely in need of.

Again though - it's just my opinion.

I don't like to squonk either.

Equal value to those two opinions outside of my own head.
I agree we need term limits but with term limits we also need the retirement policy changed too. There are many things about our government that has been allowed to get out of control. One way for us to have term limits but will never happen is for people to primary out incumbents. That would involve people actually being somewhat involved in their own government but too many people just don't care. It's really quite sad.

The problem with primary out incumbents is that got me AOC. There’s gotta be a more reliable method.

I like term limits. I like a line item veto and balanced budgets. I also like unicorns and rainbows.

At least rainbows are occasionally around.

Is AOC your Congress critter? I still don't understand how that happened? The question is will it be reelected?

Joe Crowley never considered that it could happen. I fully expected him to come back in and knock her out (as an Independent), but he instead stuck to his word in an unusual twist of integrity (not him, ANY politician).

I would have come back and knocked her out, but I never said that I have any integrity. :vapor:

I think Crowley was done and it was a good excuse. He wasn't representing his constituents anyway but neither is AOC.

Wouldn't it be ironically just like us, here in the great USA, while people are dying in the streets, and taxes and inflation and wage suppression are eroding everything resembling prosperity, that we have a constitutional convention "revolution", because of nicotine?

Then again, ticking off nic addicts particularly by making it harder for them to get nic, is logically a pretty damn bad idea. Not much of anyone more cantankerous that a nic addict in withdrawal.

So Vape shops now have another 5 months to sell off stock and switch to all CBD products. Apparently folks think CBD cures all, so that market is intact for a while.

I hope there’s a healthy market for CBD squonk “vaporizers”
Nah. The green shops are nearly impossible to license here, and banned in many jurisdictions. They have them, and they're growing, but...'taint easy. May's deeming, if it doesn't change, will likely kill the vape shops.

Really? You can get CBD products at Walmart and Walgreens down here. A few vape shops already carry product as well.

Just saw President Trump on TV news saying they (he) is going to ban flavored nicotine in pods. May be effective as soon as Friday. He reassured that it would be temporary until they have time to test them. Whatever that means. I have a feeling it will take them until......hmm, May 2020. He said they want to save the children and the industry.
