You don't understand. vaping has been a means for those filthy nicotine addicts to avoid the federal tax tax on cigarettes. This just equalizes things.

I fail to see the need for the green text (indicating sarcasm) since what you stated is actually exactly what is going on and these tyrannical beasts' heads. :)

The FDA Doesn't have the Legal Authority to Ban an entire segment of the "tobacco" Market under the FSPTCA. In fact, the FDA is Expressly Forbidden in doing so.

Well then, they'll have to amend the FSPTCA (Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act) or enact the FVPNCA (Family vaping Prevention and Nicotine Control Act) because we have a major crisis on our hands here and something needs to be done about it, yesterday...F:censored:S

Or maybe they can just scrap the FSPTCA altogether and enact new, more all-inclusive legislation named
FSVPTNCA (Family Smoking and Vaping Prevention and Tobacco and Nicotine Control Act).

That Takes Too Long.

And a Tax that Singles out e-Liquids helps to Point the CBO Score in a Better Direction.

The members of the multi-billionaire class are now democrat contributors.

"
Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates Join to Combat Global Tobacco Epidemic

"NEW YORK -- Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates today announced joint efforts to combat the global tobacco epidemic. A combined investment of $500 million will help governments in developing countries implement proven policies and increase funding for tobacco control..........

"The Bloomberg Initiative supports projects that increase tobacco tax........."

"This means assuring well-staffed tobacco control programs, raising tobacco taxes,......."

Michael Bloomberg and Bill Gates Join to Combat Global Tobacco Epidemic

And never forget:

Bloomberg Takes on Vaping After Giving $1 Billion to Fight Tobacco
New York’s former mayor has committed $160 million to ban flavored e-cigarettes amid a series of efforts designed to increase oversight of the industry.
Bloomberg Takes on Vaping After Giving $1 Billion to Fight Tobacco (Published 2019)

SO WHY SHOULD MICHAEL BLOOMNUT, ONE OF THE RICHEST ENTITIES IN THE WORLD HAVE TO PAY TAXES WHEN HE CAN BRIBE THE DEMOCRATS AND FORCE YOU TO PAY INSTEAD ?????

Yep. That's what this tax is all about. They wanted to raise the tax on cigarettes too, but they got so much push back that they had to scrap the cigarette tax.

They're just trying to help pay for the Build Back Better Act that they're trying to pass. You guys should be happy to pay your fair share for all the benefits that the BBB Act will bring to this country.

...

Dick Durbin (as well a Few other THR Haters) has been pushing for this e-Liquid Tax for Years. Almost as long as I have been a Member of the ECF. Finally found a Vehicle with a Very Good Chance of crossing the Finish Line.

Me... I think there are a Few Senate Voices that are willing to argue for a More Reasonable or No e-Liquid Tax. But the Problem is that Many (Most?) are using their Voices more for Leverage on Carveouts than to truly Oppose what is an Oppressive Tax.

That No Tax on <400K thing gives them Cover. How much Cover will depend on the Size of the Carveout asked for I guess.

Or they could scrap the FSPTCA & all the other federal anti-smoking/anti-vaping laws & regulations and instead let adults make their own decisions & let parents raise their own children.

Naaaaaaaaah.

Hear, hear!

We are the parents, gov our petulant child. They have certainly proven it.

Before we dispense with incredulity to extend those who gov our trust…perhaps we should expect them to be able to change their own diapers.

Good luck. :)

"If you Can Ban Something, Tax it Out of Existence."
Reality check: Government can try to ban something, or they can try to tax it out of existence, but if people want it badly enough, it will be available somehow.

Take MJ in your home state, or cigarettes in NYC as an example. Both are legal, but taxed to the point where a majority of the sales occur outside the legal framework.

And when you reach that Point, there is No Taxes being Collected on the Majority Percentile. And there is No Regulatory Oversite or Age Checking either.

And the Answer to that Problem is... Wait for it... Higher Taxes and even More Regulation. What a Perfect Feedback Loop.

So has a Government Really Achieved their Goals of Regulating the e-Cigarette Market that they Sold the Uneducated Population on? And Advanced Public Health as they so Sanctimoniously Promised?

Higher Smoking Rates for Both Teens and Adults seems like a Step Backwards from a Health Standpoint.

It's kinda a Joke. Because it has been done Again and Again. Those Markets you Mentioned are Prime Examples. It would almost be Funny like some Machiavellian Play if it wasn't for the number of People Dying Prematurely because they Can't Quit Smoking.

I'm sure there are pols who are sympathetic to the vaping cause. But when the time comes to cast a vote for the Ban Vaping and Do something Nice For Veterans Bill, would you want to be the rotter who voted against free beer for our vets?

We will see. This Social Spending Bill Doesn't have the kind of Voter Support that a Free Beer for Former E3's might have.
