I vape where I want. I respect no smoking areas, except at work. At work I stealth vape in my locker room, whose main entrance is blocked off so that I can easily see who is entering before they can see me.
I asked my co workers in the office if they mind if I take couple of hits now and then. At first they were hesitant (all no smokers!), but now everyday they have some kind of comment for a specific flavour.. 'Please more banana!'

The looks I got and the scramble to take a wide-birth of me were astonishingly worse than when I smoked analogs OUTSIDE! so I don't vape in public now. It always feels so odd to me to go to my car to vape when I never did that with analogs when there was an outside smoking area.

Edit: decided to add something:

Actually, based on the looks I got vaping outside, I wish all vapers would be careful and not spoil vaping for everyone else causing the anti-smoker ideologs wage war against vaping even harder... they won with analogs.

Hahaha that's great, requests for second hand vape flavours, you're like a living aromatic machine

I just got my ego t1100, at least I think thats what it's called. :) and I love it. I
haven't really put it down since I got it and have been vaping everywhere. Most people in the city where I live know what vaping is already and know there isn't any real smoke so I don't see the wide berth that some of you have. So I vape all the time.

Honestly, I would like to buy some t-shirts that say the following:

I AM NOT SMOKING.
I AM NOT TAKING ILLEGAL DRUGS.
I AM USING AN ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE.
FEEL FREE TO INQUIRE.

This is genius. Somebody should really take a look a this.

@Topic
I tend to keep my vapor discreet if i vape in a shopping mall and whatnot. Once im out, i vape like a dragon!

I have no shame in vaping either. I really want the public to embrace it and accept it and we cant do that if we're hiding and sneaking around like we're doing something illegal. I do not vape in no smoking areas (unless I stealth it every now and again) and I don't run around with my device yelling "lookit me, I'm a vaper! Don't you wish you were one too??" I use it as a smoker would use their cigarette. But when I'm done vaping, I just drop it back into my jacket while they're busy squashing out burning embers.

I also have four vape shops within a 10 mile radius, so that really helps spread the word. My favorite place to vape is atthe vape shop though! It's amazing how many friends you make while sitting around (they all have big comfy chairs or barstools to sit on), waiting in line, vaping away. Anytime I've ever been in one of the shops, I've never noticed anyone in line getting antsy. We sit and vape and converse like we're a bunch of long lost friends and almost sad when we're called up to get down to business, lol. It's a whole little community around here!

I vape in public, I'm still a little uncomfortable especially since I started vaping with a Vari Tube. Some comments: It looks like your playing a musical instrument, it looks like a thermos and my favorite the two teenage girls who did a double take and asked me with wide eyes "Is that houka?" All in all though I'm doing great. I'm not soooo uncomfortable that I won't vape in public. I've never felt the need to stealth vape. I'm pretty sure I could sit through a movie without needing a vape. Plus, half the fun of vaping is seeing the vapor..kinda hard to do with stealth vaping :)

Vaping in the car..not a problem, stopping or moving I'm very happy.

I struggle with this myself and haven't yet worked out in my own head how fearless I will be with public vaping. In theory, it should be permissible almost everywhere. In practice, it looks so much like smoking I know it will freak some people out, even when they don't say anything. My hope is that vaping will eventually become well known and accepted enough that there will be few limits on where we can vape. But I'm not optimistic--it seems to me one major obstacle is the current anti-smoking hysteria that will lead many people to reject vaping just because it looks like smoking, even if they are educated on the difference. For example, I can imagine parents protesting that they don't want their children exposed to this smoking-type behavior. (Never mind that vaping behavior is probably no more harmful than coffee-drinking behavior.)

There's also something of a chicken or the egg problem--I for one will be more comfortable vaping in public "no smoking" areas when I start seeing others doing it more, but I know if everyone has that attitude we'll never get there. :) in my vase, though, in addition to vaping I also use Swedish snus. Snus is so discreet it's mostly invisible, so it can be used anywhere without freaking others out because they usually have no idea you're using it (or if they do, most people don't care). So, for now, I'm usually snusing when out in public and kept my vaping more private.

I vape in public all the time. I want people to get used to seeing PV's. Yesterday we were at BJ's Wholesale. I forgot about trying to stealth vape. No one said a word to me, no strange looks. It was too cool. :)

The only time I try to hide it is when I am around families. Kids are super curious creatures and I don't think the parents are equipped to discuss what an ecig is with them.

What I'm doing is not illegal and I refuse to treat it like I am doing something illegal. I was sitting outside on my front steps about a month ago vaping and waiting for the mailman. We can all relate to that! :). A neighbor walked by, smiled said hi and I did notice that he saw my Twist and larger Nova tank. Never said a word about the setup. About ten minutes after he went inside his place, a police car pulls up across the street a little ways down from me. It sits there for about three minutes or so. I'm still vaping. I'm not doing anything illegal so I'm not going to hide it! The officer finally gets out of his car, walks down the sidewalk across from me, gets to the point where he is directly opposite from me. He turns so his back is to me, speaks into his radio on his shoulder then gets back into his car then leaves.

Think my neighbor thought I was doing something illegal? I can't wait till spring and it is nice enough to sit out on the steps again!

I have vaped by my husbands work, which is right across from a police station. One day, while talking with hubby and one of his coworkers, a couple of officers got into their vehicle which was right next to us. They saw me and never said a word. I was always curious what would happen, now I know. No big deal. They know what it is. Vape away.
