Do you think the fda will regulate everything?

That's why I included bumping the grandfather date forward. There is a piece of legislation crawling through the House right now that would do this if passed.

If the grandfather date gets changed that would be a game changer with these regulations. I still think they'll go over the top to get flavored juices off the market. It's all about the children.

the stuff sold for the other stuff falls under DEA i suppose...
But those devices are "for tobacco use only." Idk I've been off and on vaping and smoking for awhile but it drastically reduced my smoking. For the first time in awhile yesterday I had no tobacco and was some proud of myself. I can't believe the fda is gonna take it away. They know what they are doing. At first I thought if was just hype but I guess big pharma and big tobacco paid them off...this is gonna make public health worse. How can they not see that?

I'm also mad cuz I don't have a lot of spare money but to stock up so much right now and I'm not that big into diy. Eventually won't the nic we buy expire too? I heard in Singapore e cigs are illegal but to think they will be in the US is so shocking... Do you think Obama cares?

Big Tobacco and big medicine and Government have a symbiotic relationship.. It is in the positive interest of the BOTH industries and the goverment to have smokers. The more the better. Not smoking is bad, reduces profits, reduces tax revenue, reduces illnesses. Vaping threatens profits of BOTH the medical industry and tobacco. Those profits pay for politicians.

As they say, Follow the Money.

There are lots of threads about the House Bill. Most of them have links to tell your congress-person you are in favor of it.

Yeah I signed it when it first came out. I hope it works. I think that ship has sailed though. I hope not.

Our Singapore members have a really hard time buying anything too. They try to smuggle things in but it gets confiscated. They spend a lot of money trying to buy things. Most DIY without nicotine because they can't get their hands on Nic.

Do I think Obama cares? Obama care about a loss of liberty, about an increase of governmental power? I will refrain from further comment and spare Robino1 the effort required to delete the comment.

So if Sig or Provari or P4U came out with a new mod with the same chip, it could be considered "equivalent"? Provided the grandfather date can be bumped forward out of the jurrasic period of vaping?
That is why the "grandfather date" is SO critical. If it's 2007, we're hosed. If it's the date of the approval of the "deeming regulations" we'll be a thousand times better off.

Absolutely. The grandfather date is critical. If that bill gets denied to change it then we are utterly screwed. Unless you make your own juice, you can call a flashlight whatever you want but what will you vape?

The real question is what they consider "flavorings". If unflavored nic liquid remains available, that's a minor setback, since I seriously doubt they will be able to restrict bakery flavorings. BUT in several cases of related restrictions, "flavorings" have been defined so that anything that isn't "tobacco-flavored" is banned (apparently "unflavored" is a flavor that appeals to children). It all depends on the fine print!

I think Nicotine itself will be the problem. And flavorings mixed into it. I think anything being sold that you can vape will be regulated. I believe, by reading the deeming regs, that all flavorings will be done away with except menthol and tobacco. And even if we get the grandfather date changed I have a sinking feeling they will still ban flavorings. That would just help mods and atomizers get grandfathered in. Zeller has been very vocal about doing away with flavors. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Who defines a tobacco flavor? I've had some liquids that claim to be tobacco, but remind me more of an anise cookie that my grandma used to make... I think it was Desert Ship by Hangsen.

A local shop mixed a "pipe tobacco" flavor called Spiced Pipe that tasted like a gram cracker pie crust.

So who's pallet are they using to define what a tobacco flavor can/cannot contain?

(Forgive the blaring ignorance, I haven't had time to read into this as much as I want)

Still trying to get caught up on here. Thanks for the great conversation on here guys. I would say the only thing I support is limiting access to minors. Web sites should be required to somehow you put your drivers license in or maybe social number?! (Scary I know) so they can check your age. Other than that. I think flavors are fine. There's plenty of flavored cigars on the market. Maybe somehow batteries and mods could be regulated to be safer (trying to ban mechs) but people could get around it with the flash light thing if they wanna go that far. Like I said doesn't the FCC somehow regulate the electronic components or not? I swear I've seen there logo on atties before

Can't we just buy unflavored juice and put food flavorings in. I know j said I wasn't big on diy but I will start doing that full time if they ban flavored e juice
