Hi Badkolo,
Not really sure what it is. My son purchased the travelers kit, which comes with a notebook adapter pass through, from V2cigs for my birthday. I was able to get the post to raise up on the pass, and also the Vortex. They were making contact before I could even screw the Vortex on. That's what really has me going right now. I like the Vortex's and they work great on the exact same style batteries, kr808. I'm hooked on vaping now and have been considering buying a kit from somewhere else with bigger batteries, ie. 510's or something similar. As I said, I do like the Vortex design very much except that now I'm able to really see how quickly I'm going through e-juice...lol.

What are you powering the pass through with? Computer or Walwart...

Do you have a multi meter to ohm out things and check voltage?

I would check the ohms on the Vortex to figure the amp draw you would be seeing to ensure your supply can push it.

Somebody else throw a meter on theirs and let me know what you find.

Out of my pack of 2.4's I've got 2.0, 3.2, 2 at 2.2, and drumroll please........... a whooping 9.1! Quintuple checked with 2 meters because I couldn't believe it.

After a good bit of scraping, I got it down to around 7 if I can hit just the right spots. I can't really see any, but I'm betting there is glue all over the base preventing decent contact.

All five in the pack have that glue line around the base like the pictures. Of the two I tried before getting frustrated, both leak and barely vape.

Sounds like we're back to beta testing again. :p

Sorry you're having trouble, but if it's any consolation you're currently leading the Vortex 2 high resistance sweepstakes! :)

I've been using my new vortexes for a couple of days, and they are *almost* perfect. Sooo close! But, with my high VG juices, I'm getting a lot of dry hits. I've thinned them - a lot - but still get dry hits. I'll get a perfect hit - tons of vapor, great flavor - then ugh, dry hit. I usually keep a few hookah-doodles loaded with different flavors because I like to switch flavors frequently, so that helps, but I'd love these if they wicked just a bit looser. I've had very poor luck with taking apart the first version of vortex and putting them back together, so I'm going to use these for a while before I try loosening up the cups.

I also got the fluxomizers, but I've got burns on my lips from hot juice spits. Not happy with that. I've only tried one of them so I'll see if the others are any better, but I really want the Vortex to get to the sweet spot. I just don't want to have to whip out a syringe every time I need to refill.

I found a trick for the juice coming up the center tube. Tap down on the center of the mouthpiece with your fingertip a time or two. That little push of air will push the drop back down into the cup.

And what's up with the "contact us" on the website for Vortexes?

Sorry took so long to reply, been gone. Anyway, from what I can tell, they are between 2.4 and 3.2. My standard cartos are 3.1. I'm using my desktop comp. The usb port is a steady 5v. It powers everything, except the new cartos. I've got one unopened left. Will try that one and let you know. Thanks for repy,

I hate to say it but your USB port only looks like a steady 5V... Once you put a load on it you will not get anywhere near that. Also never use low ohm cartos on your computer. This may be your problem. The usb port may be shutting off due to high current draw due to it's built in protection circuit. To use a pass through you should use a 2Amp wall adapter.

If you are certain that the center pins are making contact then too much current draw would be my guess as to the problem. However, I did have a similar problem with one of my vortex's. I had it on an 808 adapter and when I tried to put it on my PT it would not actually make contact on the center pin until I pulled them both out slightly.

Ok I had 2 that were unopened. Guess what, opened them and both of them worked on the pass through! One was 2.3 - 2.9 ohm range, other was 2.5 - 2.6. Go figure. Guess it's a hit or miss. Also, on one of them, there was greenish looking substance all over the center post and looked burnt? Don't know what that's about, but ironically that was one of the 2 that worked on the pass.
Thanks for hanging in there and trying to resolve this with me.

i got some of them today. I'm new to vaping, and have just used cartos. But with my limited experience, these are perfect for me. I know when it is running low, and there is tons of vapor. I love these things.

A little update. I was loving these things yesterday. Today, not so much. Still has the vapor, but the only flavor is total burnt nastiness.
If these things are only good for one fill, I think I'll call it a day and go back to cartos.

So far my experience with burnt taste with these has been slow wicking of thicker juice. Poping the cap off quick every now and then solves this for me. If however the material inside is already burnt from being dry this may not help at that point but may help keep your others from doing the same.

Below is the comment I left on the gotvapes.com website. But I think I spoke too soon.

The first one popped after about 1 day. It started doing that gurgling thing. So I noticed if you hit the button without taking a drag, it would push up the juice in the tube and into the mouthpiece. So I pushed the button three times for about 3-4 seconds each time. This seemed to solve the gurgling issue. But the next time I took a drag it was dead. NTS, I won't be doing that again :(.

I pulled the second one out, filled it, let it sit, it worked for a day, then started the gurgling thing again. I came across the same trick that MsTick did concerning finger tapping on the mouthpiece. That worked for awhile, then I noticed that when I did that, it started to leak out past the threads. NTS, I'm not using that one anymore :(.

I thought I'd found vaping nirvana… a simple tank system that would work on my HV Indulgence… Like they used to say, "Close, but no cigar".

Chris & Co., Don't take this criticism the wrong way. Please keep trying, you're so close!

…NICE…
I just received a box of these, filled it with my menthol/wintergreen, 50/50 PG/VG mix, switched adapters on my 7.4V Indulgence to the 808, twisted this contraption on it, hit the button and took a good 3-4 second drag and guess what happened…

…NICE…That's what happened!

Clean, clear, warm, tasty hit with plenty of vapor.

Chris & Co., Keep up the great work!

I have 5 different batteries and 5 vortex. Some of the batteries none of the vortex will work , some of the batteries the vortex works sporadically and 2 of my batteries that vortex always works.

So here is my observation. My bateries that the vortex works on are 3.4-3.6 volts. The batteries the vortex will not work on are 3.7-4.2 volts. I beleive the problem with the low ohms vortex is that the current limiting protection circuitry is kicking in. Once my 3.7-4.2 bats dies down to putting out 3.4-3.6 now the vortex works fine. So i would say that those using the 808's and have the higher voltage are having that problem. Also on the Passthrus, the USB hub in a computer also has a current limiter.

808 users need a vortex with 2.6-3.0 ohms for the best results IMHO
