Ummm, the doll had a noose around it's neck.
How else was I supposed to hang her on the target?

With all due respect to the innovations of the past, I think it's time to acknowledge the new product to wear the crown - the Bobo.

From this day forward, we should do a search and replace of all recommendations to new vapers.
Just get a Bobo. You know you'll end up with it, so why waste time and money on anything else?

What is that?

I don't think anyone thinks it is the be all and end all. Sometimes when you are looking for gear and you ask for the most reliable motor home no matter the cost someone tells you to get a little sports car, you comment it is not sturdy enough and then they show you an Aston Martin, you say it is too little and they tell you to get a bigger sports car.
Ocelot, have you ever heard of the )famous) artist Joseph Cornell? He did the wonderfully weird assemblage shadowboxes with toys, taxidermy, random object, prints etc. I don't know if you'll like his work, but I thought you might. Anyway, seeing your desk as of a few days ago made me remember studying this man.
p.s. I love your blog post about attys! That is awesome.
Thank you on both counts. I was already making box assemblages when I learned about Cornell - I am a huge fan! It's an honor for me to bring him to mind.
I am so happy that not only did you know who I am talking about, but you had surreptitiously (I imagine) came to him while already engaged in that way of making art. Nice!I've vaped for quite some time - started with a disposable, then ego-t .. long story short my experience evolved into getting a plethora of PV's from the Silver Bullet, to the other Altsmoke PV (forgot the name atm), to custom mods made by Shan, Apex Alpha, Reos, Phideas, Provari V1, Darwin, Mini Provari etc etc etc you get the point.
Currently I am using the ProVari Mini and have been for well over 6months, everyday - allday with a LR dual coil carto. Best set up for me. Quality of the ProVari is unrivaled. It works and works and works. I drop it all the time. Same with the Darwin I might add. It simply works and the fact its VV means I can use whatever Atomizer/Carto I want.
To mock vapers who love their ProVari is pretty low. Bottom line - it is one of the most reliable PV's out there. ProVape is an outstanding company. I'm not saying there aren't others out there; say the GG or any of notcigs pv's. But it's definatly in the top tier of PV's.
Just try to contribute and help new vapers out. They do not need the ProVari for a first Ecig, but if they're on ECF they're already more educated than the normal person on the street buying disposables from a gas station that do not work worth a damn.
To me it all comes down to functionality -- does what you're using do the job you want it to do for you? I mean I've always wanted a Porsche, but my Chevies have always got the job done for me... Is the fit and finish better on the Porsche? Yes. Is the overall performance, perhaps, slightly better? Yes. Is the difference in price worth having the 'label' for? Not for me. So, again, to me once those basic requirements are met it all becomes about 'status' and how much you're willing to pay for it. If you've got deep-pockets and can stand the hit a Provari will give it have at it and own a couple dozen. If not, then don't knock the rest of us who don't want, or can't, drop the money on one...
The thing on research is when I was looking I finally figured out I was reading a lot of fake review sites and also getting the information from producers can paint an improper picture. The reality of information looked up is not always the most accurate.
I came into the forum with very specific requirements but didn't know what everything was except from fake review sites and manufacturer sites. Those things steered me in the wrong direction. My specific requirements match what I ended up with in the end. I went with what was recommended and was very disappointed in the results. My cigalikes actually did a better job for my situation than what I ended up with. I wish some happy users would have seen my posts telling me I was asking for something that existed. I felt I was being led to something that did not match what I was going to be doing.
After making several poor buying decisions I discovered the posts from some users and I saw what they had and it fit what I was looking for. There were several devices that would have fit what I said I wanted but those were not mentioned much. Before I finally made my choice I almost got a Silver Bullet with a kick, I almost got that after leaving the beginners area. I then ran into the fanboys and saw they had what they wanted.
Sometimes the newbies ask about these devices specifically. What is the harm in responding to them if they ask about a specific device or describe a device that is a tight fit for what they say they want?
On thread that had a mild dust-up in it the new member asked specifically about one of these. I assume he wanted a response from an owner of one. I don't want to trust a manufacturer or a false review site to tell me what I want. I want to hear what users think before I buy.
I agree with what you said. If it was not for hearing from people that owned the things i was looking for I might not have found what worked for me. When your new to this stuff the websites selling the items can be very daunting to understand or to figure out what exactly you need or will fit your wants. The people on this forum have helped me learn soooooooo much about the different setup and I learn something new all the time on here.

There is a world of difference between "I was looking into XXXX and wondering what the owners think about it" and "I am new, What is the best Mod out there".
The first example shows that there was at least some research done. They have looked at a specific device and was inquiring on information on that. I am all for asking questions to gain information to supplement the information already researched.
The latter just looks like someone who is too lazy to do their own research or someone who wants to start a pissing contest between the fanboys. Fanboys pissing all over each other is no better than the mis-information from the manufacturers or bogus reviews.
Some of the dust up you are seeing and comments is because of a thread where someone asked specifically about one of these. It might be time for me to leave this forum.
