I've had a few of these since Friday and I can say I'm not impressed. I've had them filled with different liquids and no matter the voltage there is a hint of a burnt taste in all of them. It's like the wicks are slow to absorb the liquid. Today is the best I've tasted from them but that burnt taste is still there in the background. My BCC Mega, with the 1.8 coil in it doesn't have this taste with the same flavors.
It'd be interesting to know what juice, PV and voltage you started off with.
As rdsok says, dry hits and burnt taste is not something people have been reporting.

(not saying this is the case) remember if you started with the PV dialed up too high and burn the wicks, it will be very hard to get rid of that taste. I just did that with a T3 coil. Brand new, and I trashed it on the first fill by forgetting to turn my PV down. When I got the EVOD, I took care to start out with a very low voltage and work my way up to the sweet spot as I usually vape 2.5-ohm devices and these are 1.8 ohms

Another thought is to get a higher resistance coil. GV has 2.2 ohm coils in stock.

i know it has been talked about before, but i have been using my evod base and coils on 3 of my T3s with out any problems and the 1.8 ohm coils seem to be giving me a better taste at 3.3 volts.

i have them on my 2 SLB ego-v 650 passthrus and a 1000 twist.

How did you overcome this?..Seems like it would leak like a sieve..

Yeah…It does look like should leak, but it doesn’t. It looks like you’d suck juice right out of the tank and up air tube.

I’ve been using it like this for about a month now without any major issues. The only problem I have is the threads don’t seem to fit together perfectly. You have to be careful to make sure its screwed in all the way.

Well, I guess I'm not the only one.
No bad vibes to GV as stated before. I bought mine elsewhere. My third head died a minute ago, BUT, I did get about 400(?) toot's from it. I don't know how to calculate toot's into $$ but the flavor is so good I can't complain. I still LOVE the eVod's and will continue with them until something better comes along. Easy to fill and clean. AND I amd using DARK JUICE on 2 of the 4 but I can't say that's what killed them as I switch around alot.
I bought 2 CE4+ (not from GV) and when the juice got down 1/2 way I tasted burning! I thought that they might be better with the re-placeable heads. They taste good but I need to vape below 1/2 full.

At $1.59 for a replacement coil, 400 puffs comes out to $0.003975 per puff :)

It's a mystery to me why you aren't getting more life out of the coils. I've got about 20 tanks on mine and still going strong. I rinse mine out with hot water every few fills, but other than that I haven't done a full clean, wick replacement or dry-burn.

i just filled and put the evod head on ,no problems,,,last night i tryed a coil that i had on a evod that i was vaping with,,whe i put it on a T3 it leaked like a sieve ,so i got out a brand new coil and put it on and it worked like it was charmed.

i have had about 4 refills on the so far no leaking yet,,but tomorrow is another day.

also i just noticed on your picture that i don't have that big of a gap on the end of the tube,my grommets are touching the end of tube,is why they don't leak i would guess.:)

I ordered a couple of these on Saturday and they arrived today. Sure can't complain about that!

One of them was DOA. I also ordered replacement heads but, as luck would have it, the first one of them out of the box was DOA. Third time was the charm. Based on my experience, I'd be sure to order extra heads!
Did you measure the coil with an ohm meter to see if it is just a connection problem?

I've gotten probably 6-7 tanks on the heads in question? BUT, I am vaping dark juice.

Not yet but I did try both DOA coils on both EVODs. It's not that big of a deal as the heads are cheap enough. Just glad I waited until the replacements were available before ordering.

Edit: So both heads show to be ok with the ohm meter. Neither of them work in either EVOD, though. I guess I need to fiddle with something.

I sure do like the vape on this thing! I used the Mini Nova exclusively for a long time. I ordered the Phoenix reborn on a whim one time and found that I really liked the vape. Since I can't get the Reborn now, I decided to try these things. So far, so good!

Do you know how to wiggle your post so that it comes up a little bit?

The battery post? Yes, I know how to adjust that. Right now, both units are working and I'm enjoying the vape. When the time comes to change the head on one of them, I'll fiddle around with the finicky heads to see what I can do.

Kanger EVOD MT BCC Bottom Coil Changeable 2.4ml 1.8ohm
$6.95

Introducing the The Kanger EVOD BCC MT eGo Bottom Coil Changeable. This features a protective and attractive windowed metal sleeve with a clear acrylic domed mouthpiece. That area of this carto is not removeable.

Kanger advertises that this will receive a fill of around 2.4ml but you are probably going to see filling capacity at around 2.0ml. This unit features a well performing 1.8ohm coil head. You can use regular T3 coil heads with this unit but they do not look as attractive as the native two-piece coil head base system created for the EVOD.

The name EVOD evokes images or associations with 'modding' and quite possibly Kanger has now created a bottom coil eGo cartomizer where they have made it more accessible and easier to mod to your liking. Please refer to the pictures on the left. You will see that it has mother wicking that is just laid across slots on the side of the coil head and feeds a coiled wick below in the coil head well. You can replace, thin that mother wick out a bit, or maybe even thicken it more to better perform with the type of juice you are vaping with. Also with this type of approach Kanger may be able to manufacture the replacement heads more inexpensively, making the base and coil head available separately. At this time the heads were sold out until after the CNY.

This will of course fit well with most CE4 style clearomizers such as our Stardust and ReDux and with many ego-welled mods such as the Joyetech eVic but we have not been able to test of course, on all mods. Due to the fact that it does not have knurled base may mean it fits more of a variety of mods than the T2s and T3s. Your mileage will of course then vary and you may need an adapter as you do with other Kanger products such as the T2 and T3. We WERE able to thread this on to the Vision Variable (Vamo) but we did not fill with juice and vape at the time of this writing.

I see the replacement wicks on the site but will you also have the bases available? I have several of the T3 casings and would love to use them with the EVOD base/wick combo. I received my EVOD today and have been using it for a couple hours. No burning, gurgling or leaking. They are a huge improvment to the T3's in my opinon-and I plan on ordering a few more. This has been the first clearo type carto that I will be buying more of.
