Ok I have to google all these things cos I have no idea what they are. Very briefly, if you don't mind, what are the following:

Atomisers
Cartomisers
Clearomisers
tanks

Atomisers - http://www.gotvapes.com/images/hybrid15.png
Cartomisers - http://www.misthub.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/break-downcartomizer-design.jpg
Clearomisers - - http://godofsteam.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/clearomizers.jpg
tanks - http://wallpoper.com/images/00/21/66/12/military-tank_00216612.jpg

confusing -- carto & atomizer same, but with carto having filler foam inside

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3230-1-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-guide-juice-attachments.html This ECF link is from one of the nicest, most informed members of the Vaping community, Baditude. It covers a lot of terminology's and(lucky 4 me) it has lots of pictures. Definitely worth a look or two- Dave

Can anyone tell me what causes crackling when vaping?
I put a new tank on my MVP today and it crackles about every 3rd or 4th time. I'm using the same juice I've been using for a couple weeks. It's an Evod glass tank, 1.5 ohms:

Thanks

:2c:

I like to hear that pop corn crackle !

 juice sizzling

believe it is just efficiency, juice on a hot wire being atomized

to produce that sweet vapor we all seek... :D

was your coil before as low as 1.5Ω ?

It is Pulse modulation. There is not a steady stream of power. The signal is turned on and off to maintain a certain level very rapidly. You get more of this with 33.3 chips such as Vamo, Smax, Zmax and so forth. One of Provari's claim to fame is the steady power so little or none of this. I like it. Let's you know you are vaping!

Not on the MVP it isnt... The MVPs signal is 99% as smooth as the Provari.

Yes the MVP is a flat DC signal but I've vaped on 33Hz units before and it doesn't bother me at all. I have heard that the sound/feeling is amplified by Carto tanks. FWIW, The SVD is 33hz, The VTR is 48hz...

Indeed it is , man you know your stuff Midniteoyl .

Thats why you see veterans quote
IMHO, the MVP is very close to a ProVari in vape quality.
in the " ask the veterans " forum.

I ordered from a different outfit almost a year ago. I paid 50% more (on sale ) and PG was the only choice. I don't really know whether or not it would make a difference. Maybe someone else will chime in. Failing that I'd say get whichever one comes closest to the ratio you want. On the other hand the mixing calculator I use works with PG nic base. Have I muddied the waters enough yet?

Wow, what a tank , what a chick magnet lol.

I've seen breaktru's. This is the part where I have to admit to having a little pea brain so I'm gonna stick with the other one!

x2

I was also told i had a rodent sized brain , it works OK so i live with it .

Thank you...no, the other tank I was using was 1.8 ohm. I had it set at 3.6 for that tank. With the new tank, I set it at 3.3.

you went from: 1.8Ω @ 3.6v = 7.2w/2a
to 1.5Ω @3.3v = 7.26v/2.2a
so just a little ‘hotter’ and you hear the crackin’ :p

nothing to do with your signal, just simply the amount of heat applied
sounds like you hit your sweet spot, how’s it tasting ?? :p

pufZeppelin, some really good links there! Thank you.

well I hope you can find some to use, that works for ya...

a lot of chattin with some of you across the pond

lead to me searching those out and reading thru some of their offerings...

maybe some are higher priced but then balanced between shipping cost
and time from US, maybe find a balance that fits what suits you...

good luck
:)

I want a Dalek for my desk... It's Whomania month here! Unfortunately doesn't ship to Argentina :( Maybe I could throw the MVP electronics onto it...

This may be an interesting alternative to the MVP:

The Groove 2

I've played with one before at the local B&M. If felt...cheap..... and not as bulletproof as my MVP. It may just be me, but I don't think it would survive to many drops, something that I seem to constantly do with my MVP. The groove has more battery life and wattage than the MVP does though.
